TimmyH. Sincerest condolences.

As for the match, a very hard earned point, just about deserved, but where the bloody hell are these referees being dragged up from. Another incompetent one today, following on from last weeks muppet............and please Mr Pennington change your boots for boxing day.

Hurst: Lads Showed a Lot of Character

BraveDave. Quite agree. Came away at the end feeling fairly optomistic after the 2nd half performance against an excellent Brentford team. That system, imo, is the one i hope PH perseveres with now.

Ipswich Town 1-1 Aston Villa - Match Report
at 23:37:56

Great stuff. Thoroughly deserved. Crowd were our 11th man after the awful decision to send off Edun. Really poor referee, Villa played him & he fell for it nearly every time. Some very good performances throughout the team, the new lads really stepping up a level.
Good things ahead if the club can keep up the steady progress.

Deal Agreed for Shrews Duo

Two excellent signings IMO. Nolan could be the Maddison the scummers are going to miss big time. Nsiala is a beast, liking this very much.

Patience required. Work in progress & will take a while to gel. The two Shrewsbury lads plus Tilt & a striker still to possibly integrate into the squad.
Fair result. Danny Graham probably the best player on the pitch, the players were shattered at full time.
Enjoyed the game although not high on quality, but i believe there will be some good times coming back to PR in time.

Town Confirm Hurst Appointment
at 19:41:06

Timmy,
Steijn is a decent shout & i would have welcomed him, Burley imo would have been a backward step, prefer to remember him fondly for what he achieved in the past.
One thing in Hursts favour is his managing in English football even though it was at a lower level. Given time, which Evans to be fair, gives his managers, i am pretty optimistic he will gradually improve the playing style & have the club pushing for promotion. COYB.

Town Confirm Hurst Appointment

Timmy, Blue boy.
Think we have made the right appointment. There may well be some rocky times, it may go spectacularly wrong, although personally when Hurst finds his feet at the higher level, i have a feeling we will reap the benefits of him becoming our manager. One positive already is that 90% of our TWTD fanbase are excited about the future.
Out of interest, who would you both have preferred to take over at the helm?

Simon Grayson is free......................Wouldn,t be at all surprised if Evans has him on his radar. Not my personal choice but a decent managerial record all told.

Ipswich Town 2-2 Middlesbrough - Match Report
at 15:11:34

Cracking game considering that it was essentially a dead rubber (although finishing ahead of the participants was a nice bonus). Boro attacked with pace, we countered with some nice passing moves of our own. Skuse was excellent & a lot more positive in his general play, the back line defended valiantly, all in all a fair result & a performance that, if Evans appoints the right manager, leaves me cautiously optimistic for next season. This crop of players can pass & play with freedom if allowed to do so. Have a great summer fellow TWTD ers. COYFB.

Ipswich Town 1-0 Barnsley - Match Report
at 23:20:41

Reasonable game, played much better 2nd half, some nice moves which with better finishing or final pass would have resulted in a more convincing scoreline. Barnsley were poor after a lively start. The young uns did themselves no harm at all. A decent evenings work.

Thankyou to Mick & Terry, they were what our club needed at the time, a lack of adequate investment in playing personnel by Evans certainly has not helped the cause, but the football on display on the whole these last 18 months has been very poor. Mick has not however deserved the personal abuse dished out by a section of our "support".
Good luck to them wherever they go next.
Onwards & upwards, life goes on & this could be the start of exciting times for ITFC if the right appointment is made. COYB.

Ipswich Town 2-2 Millwall - Match Report
at 18:00:53

Enjoyed the game today, 2 teams attacking, some woeful defending, 2 fantastic saves from Bart near the end earned us a point which we just about deserved. Skuse was excellent today, maybe the shackles were loosened a bit, all in all came away from PR feeling i had at least been entertained for the first time since we beat Forest 4 2 back in November.

Ipswich Town 0-3 Hull City - Match Report
at 22:31:52

ITFC RIP.
Tonight, i,m not proud to say i left the stadium after 48 minutes. I was angry, very angry, so angry in fact that i turned the air blue & was concerned i would be asked to leave anyway. So as i walked the lonely path back to the van & my short drive home, i had the feeling of sadness, that the club i love is slowly dying in front of my eyes, on life support waiting to be turned off any time soon. By 9.15, i was in the warmth of my living room with a chilled glass of white wine & am now mulling over the abject state of our beloved club.
I expect Mick to be gone by the weekend, even the passive wurthers original munchers were booing at half time. Evans needs to stand up and give the club some direction & leadership or sell up & feck off.
Seriously pissed off right now.

Ipswich Town 0-0 Sheffield United - Match Report
at 19:18:33

Billybaxterwasbest, perhaps the match report should have been...............A fine game full of inspiring fast flowing attacking football, both goalkeepers making several fine saves to keep the score 0 0. The raucous crowd were in fine voice throughout, singing super Mick well after the final whistle. I can,t wait for the home game at a packed Portman Road against Hull City under the lights.

Shame the reality has been so so different for a long while.

We were lucky to get 0. Spence was truly woeful, first 10 minutes aside, another very dissapointing afternoon at library Portman Road. IMO opinion, our 3 centre backs were the only real positive i can take from that.
