As others have said and will say a win is a win which was vital tonight. The players gave there all and whilst it was not always pretty we ground out a result. I know there are many Lambert knockers but would you really expect us to be 5th with the players available at the moment ? If we can hang in there until the established players return you never know what could happen. I would have taken a win under any circumstances tonight and we got it. Saturday will be a bigger hurdle but we live in hope.

A fat lot of good that two week break made Mr. Lambert. One or two players off the pace today notably Chambers and Skuse and wasn't Downes best game either. You talk a good game Mr. Lambert but why did you not mix and match with the two cup competitions and hence play 4/5 regulars in each of the cup games instead of no games for our regulars for two weeks or so. Can't argue that we were not the better team today but we just did not get going not helped by only playing one up front. It just does not work Mr Lambert and do it again on Tuesday we will struggle. Please not Keane up front - I'd rather Judge up there than an ineffective Keane. Badly need a striker in January as cannot rely on Jackson alone to cope up front. I have to say am a bit worried at the moment as we still have to play a majority of the top fancied teams away.

That was a dreadful performance and hard to find a man of the match. Rotherham tactically out thought us tonight by playing a high line and restricting service to our hopeless forwards. Jackson has pace but little else and Keane was so poor tonight. Very down tonight and worry about Saturday now. Went to Accrington Sunday and silly me booked hotel and tickets for Rochdale. I must be mad. A must win game on Saturday otherwise the alarm bells will be ringing.

Players we have just not good enough for this league. Our own worst enemy playing one very poor striker up top who is a waste of loan money. Should have been thrashed with the chances Wednesday had and 1-0 does not show a reflection of how poor we really are. Probably the worst time of my life in relation to my beloved football club but have been lucky enough to see all the good times home and abroad. Very down about it all to be honest my only consolation being 6 or 7 new grounds to visit next season. I look back in disbelief at how this Club has plummeted and is going into the 3rd tier of English football for sure. I like all that Lambert says but beginning to worry about his tactics now. Says all the right things but that does not get us points. Don't think many people to be fair could get us out of the hole Hurst left us in. Very sad days for our once great Club. Ah well at least we have the history but that is small consolation at the moment.

A dreadful dreadful performance from ITFC and one of the worst I have seen from them over the years I have been watching ITFC but now its over I don't care in the slightest. We had to win today and we did. Still think it will be a massive task to stay up but at least today all hope is not lost.

Spence is the worst footballer I have seen in an Ipswich shirt and am surprised he as even got the mark he has.
Ah well 7 new grounds for me next season. So sad for this once great Club but I'll still be there in Division One.

That's the second time we have had Referee Woolmer this season (Preston) and he has been worse than awful both times. Whether its Portman Road or in general a truly poor official heaven knows. Definitely a point gained against a very good side but still a massive mountain to climb to get out of this mess we are in. We can do it but signings in January could be key.

Excellent round up Mullett but can't agree on your take of McGoldrick. He has more class in his right boot than many and made a difference when he came on. As for Murphy I have no reason to change my criticism of him last week as he gave another hopeless display. I can forgive if you put in effort but Murphy once again did nothing today and he has to be omitted against Huddersfield. Those who said we should have sold him may well have been right but time will tell. There were many poor performances today and my oh my what has gone wrong with Berra as he was is not the man he was and was lucky to escape a red card. Alarm bells are now ringing if promotion is the aim but I trust MM to get it right.

Havn't cel3brated a goal like that since Blackpool away last season. The roof nearly came off the Jimmy Seed stand. Our fans were really up for it today and were behind the team from start to finish. Chambo my man of the match - he was superb. Bart looks more confident with each game and long may it continue.
Great credit to all the lads today and the management who have created a great team spirit. MM seems to have the knack of sending teams out with great team spirit whatever the line up. Now for a good night out in London. Oh and well done Reading.

Definitely a point gained against a very enthusiastic team with excellent vocal support from the home fans. Gerken was excellent again today and saved us on more than one occasion in the first half with superb saves. We started brightly with several corners in the first 10 minutes but Cresswells' deliveries were very poor and he generally had a very poor game and looked tired to me. Central defenders were outstanding and the pick of the midfield for me was Skuse who never wasted a ball. Thought Murphy was poor in the first period as was Nouble but Mick must have had words at half time as they were both much improved in the second half. We withstood a late barrage of attacks from Bournemouth towards the end and did well to hold on for the point. Not an easy place to go and I would have taken 4 points from the 2 holiday period games so well done boys and hope for 3 points on Wednesday to build on this.

The heart is now back in working order and I'm back in our hotel. A great game for us and our fantastic supporters and tribute must be paid to the players for their spirit when things seemed to be going against us. We started off OK and Hyam did look lively on the right hand side of central midfield and Skuse looked assured at right back. For all our tip tap football we created little but the same could be said for Blackpool until we let Dobbie glide in behind oir central defence to put the seasiders one up. Gerken then pulled off a wonder save from Grant which looked a goal all the way. Had that effort gone in I think we would have been in trouble as we were certainly not at our best. Mick made two changes at half time bringing on Taylor and Nouble for Hyam and Tabb and it changed the game. Nouble was lively from the outset and took his goal well and Taylor equally took his goal well after also putting in a lively appearance. There was a suspicion of offside for the Blackpool equaliser but not being in line it was difficult to tell. Mings had by now gone to centre back in place of Berra who looked to have a face injury, with Stephen Hunt on as a substitute for Berra going to left back. Then came the magic moment when Murphy somehow squeezed the ball past Gilks and silenced the Blackpool faithful. Well done MM for your tactical changes, to Gerken for that wonderful save and in fact all the lads who again proved today there is tremendous spirit in the team. Once again loved the Chambers punch after the final whistle.

Don't really think we deserved to lose the match but we did not do enough to win it. There is clearly a problem with our creativity and if this is not remedied it will be another season of mediocrity. We also badly lack pace something that ITFC never seems to have and it frustrates me so much. Anderson does have some pace but he is obviously told to play narrow and today for me Tunnicliffe gave us little on the left flank giving the ball away far too easily. Chambers is clearly not at home at full back and does not have the ability to get forward like Cresswell does. Think perhaps its time to change the centre of midfield and give Hyam a rest perhaps put Tunnicliffe in there and bring Tabb back. Still does not solve the pace problem but something needs to change and sooner rather than later. Oh and Mick for heaven sake tell us where your future is as this will only frustrate fans and players alike.

The bottom line is we would have won the match if we swapped goalkeepers. Watford fans warned us that Loach is poor and they are right. Yes he loves Ipswich and has said sorry but the guy just cannot take crosses and unfortunately the number 2 goalkeeper is no better.
This is another position that should have been addressed in the summer with a top quality keeper who is worth at least 10 points a season. Tonight Loach lost us all 3 points not helped by us sitting back mainly due to us playing only one up front where Scotland was not as effective as DJ Campbell. I really despair for Jewell now as we showed how well we can play tonight but statistics do not lie and no wins in nine at home, and three wins in the last 18 or so at home and away is not all down to bad luck. No other Club in the Country would keep their Manager with those statistcis. I so want the guy to succeed and he will probably get the next 3 games at least. No wins there and he is gone.

cbower thanks for your report which in general makes depressing reading. At the end of the day we got a point but sounds as though we were very fortunate. Well done to the 500 plus who made the trip.
Not looking good now and I really believe Div One is beckoning. Only consolation today is that the budgies got stuffed but how they must be laughing at us. Two more defeats (The tipping point) PJ and your job is in peril.

However depressed we feel tonight and whatever players we criticise and how many of you slag Jewell off we should have won that game comfortably. We had 5 gilt edged chances and fluffed them all - they created one decent chance and missed but won the match 2-0. Felt sorry for Tommy Smith but sadly he is an accident waiting to happen and Loach has to be questioned with their second goal. Unfortunately although he is better than ALB in my opinion he is not the answer and Watford fans on our forum did warn us. After 6 games and pre season friendlies has he actually come out to catch a cross. Luck certainly is not on our side either as it was never a free kick which led to the first goal and the injury to Taylor is a big blow but the guy was clearly struggling with a knock before half time. Dark days indeed for Ipswich Town and with the Championship now stronger than ever this season we already face a relegation battle. Saturday is now so vital for us to get 3 points.

A satisfactory win and at times we again moved the ball around very well. Chopra looked sharp and once again Luongo and Hyam linked well. My biggest concern is still the centre of defence where we do not not always look commanding and against bigger and better teams than Bristol Rovers I think we could stuggle. Scotland gets my man of the match as he worked tirelessly scored a decent goal and played up top as well as dropping into midfield. Suspect we will go back to 4-2-3-1 on Saturday against sterner opposition. Still need at least 3 more decent players in before then which is unlikely.
