Bradley Set to Stay at Luton
at 15:07:21

Hope I am not getting apprehensive unnecessarily.

The recent revelation that almost to a man, even those retained on contract were otherwise invited to leave for other clubs and the distinct lack of any real news on new players, is beginning to perplex me. I do hope that "the baby isn't being thrown out with the bath water !!!!"

Would be nice to see intent with the last 3 games - exclude all those who are on the late train out and the loaness and give the ones who are staying some airtime. Simple really!!

Cook: All the Decisions Have Been Made
at 17:06:25

Whilst I appreciate that there is much conjecture and speculation surrounding our current situation and the bottom line is we are never likely to hear the full reasons behind what has been happening, the one thing that does baffle me is the lack of effort by so many on the pitch with contracts coming to an end.

Whether you like / dislike, agree / disagree with the new manager or not, your future livelihood is at stake. To most, I would expect that to translate into some sort of tangible effort - either to secure a further contract with ITFC or to showcase themselves for future clubs. To date, we appear to have seen neither .......

Wigan Confirm Richardson as Permanent Boss
at 14:42:41

It will be interesting to see how the knew owners view this development - accepting Paul COOK was apparently their first choice in any case, was that with the expectation of him working with his former assistant or not?

With new owners and more importantly investors, they will doubtless want to see positive results from their purchase and ongoing funding of the club. Whether COOK should or should not be supported will ultimately be a matter for them. However, I very much doubt if the time honoured tradition of giving managers lots of time (HURST excepted) to settle in and get results will apply under the new regime.

On a personal note, I do hope COOK is given time and proves to be a positive appointment !!

Przybek Returns From Chesterfield Loan
at 15:07:13

“I keep reiterating we need the right personnel for the culture I am trying to build here and he did not fit into that.” Perhaps a worrying indictment of the culture that already exists at Portman Road - at the risk of being boring, as I have said on many previous occasions, the culture at the club needs a fundamental overhaul and I think Paul COOK's various comments to the media today, have underlined that fact !!!!

Cook: We're a Million Miles From a Good Team, Supporters Must Be Tired and Bored By Now
at 14:56:55

Surprised, with everything else that is going on with the club at present, the name "Tractor Boys" has suddenly become an issue for some people? I appreciate that it is impossible to please all of the people all of the time. However, personally, I have always been quite happy with the nickname, reflecting our rural origins. Does it really matter? Also, if too many object, as with all names, the likes of the Canaries will only use it even more often just to irk.

Having said that, our new American benefactors may well decide that they want something more upmarket or commercially dynamic so I guess the adage will be .... watch this space LOL !!!!

Keepers Przybek and Wright Among Four Exiting Town
at 14:30:58

Surprised to see both young goalkeepers exiting, especially when our two regular keepers don't exactly inspire a high level of confidence on occasions. However, as has been said, we must trust the judgement of those who see them all the time and hopefully, with the advent of the takeover and with PC there is a plan. Wishing them all the very best for the future.

Judge: I Think It’s Just That Bit of Confidence
at 17:03:04

" ..... a lack of confidence is behind the Blues’ recent under par form and knows they have to show much more going forward than they did in yesterday’s dour 0-0 draw away against bottom club Rochdale.

.... but he (COOK) knows we’re giving him everything and he knows he’s got an honest bunch of lads in there.”

Bit like Groundhog Day really....

Wigan Athletic 0-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 18:19:14

New manager bounce, more like new manager bump.

PC really does have his work cut out - clear out and full cultural change required or we will all be here next season in exactly the same place, just more frustrated, if that is even possible ........

Also worried about the potential lack of takeover news - unless my memory deceives me, PC was supposedly touted as part of that deal. Frank YALLOP seemed to think there would be great support in the right direction so what has "gone wrong" ?!?!

Cook: At the Minute You Watch Us Nervously Waiting For Something Wrong to Happen
at 08:25:32

More wise words from Paul COOK and another honest assessment of where we are and where we need to be.

Clearly, the fundamental cultural change I have alluded to previously is needed and again, that means moving on from CHAMBERS and SKUSE. Most people on here appear to acknowledge that but a few equally do not, marking down every criticism of CHAMBERS. Please, what are you seeing that the rest of us are apparently missing ?!?!

Cook: To Play For This Club, You Have to Carry a Little Bit More Weight on Your Shoulders
at 20:13:48

Some interesting, positive and incisive comments by PC - it would appear he really does have his work cut out!!

The two performances against Gillingham and Fleetwood really do hit home - as I have said previously, you would expect players to give their all to impress the new manager and put themselves in his future plans. I know others on here will disagree but the simple reality is that a full cultural change of the team is required and that means thanking CHAMBERS and SKUSE for their services and moving on. If PC was yelling from the sidelines, why wasn't CHAMBERS marshalling and inspiring on the pitch? The Captain's arm band needs to go to somebody younger who can lead by example on the pitch and inspire and translate the manager's tactics and strategies into action and be part of the longer term future of the club. Like others I think CHAMBERS has far too much influence on and off the pitch and so long as that continues, PC will have an uphill struggle. I do hope that we don't get to the point of reiterating the EINSTEIN theory about "change!!"

Gillingham 3-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 15:05:02

Perhaps expectations were too high but is it not normally the case a new manager injects a bit of fire into the hearts of players hungry to be part of his future plans?

Clearly, that has not happened this afternoon. Methinks Paul COOK has no easy task on his hands .....

O'Neill: Is Paul Cook the Next Town Manager? I Don't Have the Answer to That Question
at 16:27:46

“I think he’ll go through his thoughts on that and speak to various different people.

“He’ll take the time that is necessary to look at who he wants to be the next manager of the football club ..."

Worrying comment, he said that before and we ended up with Paul HURST having apparently looked at Frank LAMPARD, Graham POTTER, Jack ROSS et al, all who would have been better choices. If Paul COOK is the choice of the consortium that may or may not be looking take ITFC over, sounds like there choice is better than EVANS !!!!

No Late £1m Huddersfield Bid For Jackson
at 11:09:50

Is the problem JACKSON or LAMBERT?

When paired with NORWOOD, he seemed to be able to put the ball in the net? I think he is getting some unfair press here, LAMBERT's one up front clearly does not suit his style of play. Put someone up front alongside him, yes TWO up front and we might end up being pleasantly surprised ....

Lambert Facing Dressing Room Unrest - Report
at 13:02:13

Some interesting comments - the club clearly needs some action and in my view and LAMBERT needs to go. We almost appear to be in a Groundhog Day situation with him like we were with MM, same old same old but expecting a different result. The criticism of CHAMBERS in my view is also not unfair. Being a stalwart of the club and committed to it does not win games, good performances do. We need a total cultural change and that includes a new Captain who enthuses, motivates and organises the team on the pitch but above all else, who actually leads by example. Swindon's first goal on Saturday was an absolute embarrassment, you could have driven a tank down the centre of our penalty area and the defence would have barely noticed it.

Lambert: We’ll Be in the Fight, Absolutely No Doubt About That
at 09:19:02

I believe PL is the best possible fit for us at the moment and as such am fully behind him. It will be interesting to see what he does in January!!

In the meantime, I do confess to being a little surprised by his team selection on Saturday, having previously said, "We need to stop the basic defensive errors" that was the only are of the team where he made no changes? Whilst I readily acknowledge the contribution that Luke CHAMBERS has made to the team in his time at Portman Road, as I said sometime ago, you cannot survive on "uplifting rhetoric" alone, you have to deliver on the pitch as well and lead by example! It may be time for PL to consider some more "controversial" changes including awarding the Captain's armband elsewhere COYB .......
