Morsy: We Let Ourselves Down
at 11:43:56

The "work hard and go again" statement is a recurring theme which could be used as the clubs strap line over the last decade or so.

So much of what is being said and done now is worryingly familiar.

O'Neill: Loan Route Was the Only Option
at 15:29:16

On Town's reliance on loans, the Blues boss said: “That's the problem. If you get five loan lads in, five ultimately end up going back and then you have to keep going down the same route. You shouldn't be in that position.

“Number one, you shouldn't bring in eight or nine players in one summer — regardless of what league you're in. It doesn't make sense.

“You have to get them to gel and that's a really difficult thing for any manager to do. Ideally you get maybe two or three guys. That's enough. You can't keep have this turnover. It's not normal.”

- Paul Lambert (January 2019)

Forest Linked With Skipper Chambers as Final Day Gets Under Way
at 11:22:33

Opinion on the Forest forums is mixed as to value of signing LC. Interesting comment taken from there (below) - is this where we are with Chamber now?

"Do we get the Luke Chambers who played with so little spirit at the end of his tenure with Forest or the Chambers who seems to turn up every game for Mick McCarthy? Perhaps we ought to sign Mick as well to get the best out of LC".

McCarthy: Best Won't Play for Town Again
at 20:55:10

Over the years, the club has supported and remained loyal to a number of players that did not warrant it.

Irrespective of arguments about where he should be playing I agree entirely that Chambers fully deserves to be treated fairly and honestly in order to allow him to plan his / his family's future.

McCarthy: A Game We Have to Win

“I fancy my chances every week,” he said. “I did last weekend until they scored after 56 seconds".

Essextractorboy - you mark down every single comment which is even mildly critical. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

More importantly, just because someone posts a negative comment on this forum it does NOT mean that they are not then supporting the team on matchday. You have no right to make that assumption, nor to think you are a 'better' supporter or tell them they are not wanted.

Pure arrogance.

PS: I assume you are a season ticket holder - where do you sit? Interested to know how good your view of the pitch is ...

Are You Moaning or Giving Your Opinion?
at 11:47:39

A rather one sided perspective on the situation in my view (and mildly patronising). This blog does seem to suggest that a negative comment is a moan and that a moan is not an opinion. In turn, if it is not an opinion it does not warrant any consideration or credibility. This borders on censorship, ensuring that only positive views, justfied / supported or not, are welcome.

In my opinion ....

The vitriol and keyboard aggression that is generated spawns from both 'sides' - not just the 'moaners' - and, to me, this is the most unacceptable aspect of the entire situation. There is a real danger that the 'moaners' versus 'deluded souls' competition that exists on this site will soon become the principal feature of all threads. It should not be.

I have no doubt that there are a few that post 'flame' comments purely to antagonise others and prompt a reaction. However, I also believe that the vast majority of posters on TWTD have the best interests of the Town at heart - just with opposing views.

A post that is perceived to be 'negative' should not mean:

1) That the poster is simply a 'moaner'
2) That the poster wants Mick McCarthy out
3) That the poster is not a true fan
4) That the poster can be told to F off and support someone else

Equally, a 'positive' or up beat post should not mean:

1) That the poster is deluded or simply wrong
2) That the poster is blindly pro Mick McCarthy
3) That the poster can be told to F off or suffer similar abuse.

We should not be dipping into our bag of stereotypes and putting labels on people. Personally, I can say that there are a number of factors which frustrate me greatly. From time to time I air my views in this regard but that should not put me into a 'moaner' pigeonhole as I am equally inclined to praise where praise is due. I post when something that I have seen or heard prompts me to do so - irrespective of whether it is good or bad.

The constant sniping, abuse and oneupmanship that occurs does little to promote the opportunity to discuss or disagree in a constructive or grown up way. The 'mine's bigger than yours' approach in respect of who is the 'better' supporter is nonsensical (and subjective anyway) but seems to be incredibly important to some.

Everyone is entitled to a view / opinion. I would much prefer that the focus is not on any negativity toward the club / owner / manager but on a significant reduction in the amount of abuse and personal attacks that appear in the forum.
