Twenty Years Ago Today: Stewart Hits Double as Blues Draw at Bolton
at 17:01:04

Henz10 - Try Ebay. There's usually quite a few of that shirt knocking around. I'm sure the club probably do a retro version but I'd always prefer an authentic shirt. Good luck in your search!

Town Confirm Nouble Signing
at 08:06:51

Well, apart from minimal success on a loan spell at Gillingham this boy has achieved nothing so far in his career. He hasn't been able to score goals during loan spells at various lower division clubs. He is still young though and I'm hoping both the transfer fee and the wages aren't too excessive. Here's hoping he isn't just another Emmanuel-Thomas.

Davis Linked With Town Return
at 11:22:02

Davis was the best keeper we've had since Paul Cooper. He was a much better keeper than Wright, who in my opinion was highly overrated. I for one would be very happy to see Davis return.

Town Topic: Ten Years After

We love you Sweden, We love you for your po*n,
We love you Sweden, for Benny and Bjorn,
We love you Sweden, but we beat Helsingborg!

So many good memories and one hilarious flashback to us being 4 up at Swindon and our RB, probably Wilnis, smashing long balls up the line for an ageing Micky Stockwell to chase, and chase he did. Each time the balls were played, Stockwell would give chase, often without joy and would then look back in disgust at Wilnis, who smirked each time Stockwell turned away! HAPPY DAYS THAT SEEM A LONG LONG TIME AGO NOW

Town Sign QPR's Campbell

I note one comment that says Campbell "scores goals for fun". It's a fact that he turns 31 in November and should he score for Town, it will be only his 58th goal in league football.

Martin: Contract Talks Have Stalled
at 19:15:30

For me, the best case scenario here would be for Martin to be sold in the January window. The major obstacle I envisage would be the fact that very few, if any, would be prepared to shell out money for him. There may be a few takers when he becomes a free agent, though I personally don't rate him at all. Every time I'm reminded of what we actually paid for him it makes me shudder. That's the most sickening aspect of these players whose contracts run down - the ridiculous fees and wages we paid for them in the first place. Misjudgement of players and mismanagement of the club's financies are the biggest reason we find ourselves where we are. It all started with the influx of foreign players Burley tried to incorporate into our hardworking unit after 00/01 and has been repeated time again by all managers (bar Royle) since.

Jewell: We Can Turn Things Around
at 10:05:17

PART OF JEWELL'S POST MATCH ANALYSIS....."because if you don't do the tiny little things that people in the crowd don't quite appreciate but managers do, like closing down, getting little blocks in, little things like that, being in the right areas, standing up and being strong in little situations"
How patronising is this? I have been watching my beloved club for over 3 decades now and do not appreciate the manager insulting us in this way. You can be assured Mr Jewell that we as fans fight for every ball, albeit from a distance, and fully appreciate the "little things" to which you refer. Be under no illusions Town fans, this is a swipe at us and our intelligence and to me suggests Jewell is clearly aware of the negativity amongst a large percentage of fans. Don't get me wrong he is just as entitled to his opinion as we fans are but to call into question our knowledge and awareness of the game is insulting, especially as we are not the ones currently masterminding this once great clubs descent into oblivion.

Deal for Posh Pair Falls Through
at 08:35:59

I am personally very disappointed by this news. Whilst it is clear we need a commanding CH in the McAuley / De Vos / Mogga mould, we must still ensure we are in for players who can improve the team whenever they become available. In my opinion Boyd, and to some extent Taylor, would do that. Boyd scores a number of goals from midfield and creates a good percentage of Posh's goals. Can we say the same about messrs Martin and Emmanuel-Thomas? A great player (and hopeless manager) once said that you had to be a great player to wear flourescent boots. Time to revert to traditional black boots Lee and Jay. Hope we can resurrect these deals, assuming their demands aren't ridiculous or that they received a Kevin Phillips style call in the PR car park and want to go elsewhere.

Town Set to Receive Rhodes Windfall
at 08:19:28

So I make that an initial 365K. Nowhere near enough to heal old wounds. It's a real pity we couldn't bring him 'home' but both the wages and transfer fee make that impossible. Then again, the player himself would probably favour Blackburn for a number of reasons, chief of which the way he was apparently forced out of PR by Lord Vader. All he did was say he didn't like Guinness for petes sake! At least we don't start Saturday a goal down already.
