£30m. He's one of our best players. When you pay £15m for a player you're taking a risk. So we'd need to recover the money lost from players who now currently aren't worth the money we paid for them. In any case there's no point in him joining Burnley or Leeds as they'll be back in the Championship at the end of next season. |
 | News Comment | Delap's Chelsea Move Confirmed at 22:51:10
This is the best bit of it: "Town in turn will get a percentage of a future Chelsea sale". Let's hope he's amazing and Real Madrid come in with a £150m bid for him in a few year's time! ;-) |

Portman Terrorist. You're right ref Leif. But why didn't McKenna solve the problem? It was glaringly obvious from the second half of the first game vs Liverpool, yet we pursued with Davis roaming forward and leaving a gap behind him that was exploited time and again. Opposition managers must have been rubbing their hands in their pre-game team talks. |
 | News Comment | Davis: We'll Deal With the Added Pressure in the Championship at 09:47:28
Davis will be amazing and essential for us in the Championship next season assuming we play a similar attacking style like last season. But if we get promoted, we need to review what his role is back in the Premier League as our approach this season left huge gaps behind him and he was quickly out of position, which often was severely punished. Maybe the answer then would be to evolve into a PL counter-attacking team (a la Brentford when newly promoted or Palace vs big team eg: FA Cup Final)? If so, does Leif play as a wingback in a 3-4-2-1 ? |
 | News Comment | Leicester City 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 23:06:53
Davis AWOL for BOTH goals. He's not a conventional LB for the Premier League. He might work of us as a wingback if we played a similar system to Palace, but we have suffered so many times with him being absent at LB or failing to do basic defensive duties there. I assume that KMcK will keep him for next season, but we need to consider whether he's the right option for us if we then go back up to the PL. |

I hope we keep hold of him, but surely La Liga or The Championship is much more attractive than The SPL ! |
 | News Comment | Everton 2-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 19:09:28
Are we better in the Premier League without Davis at left-back? He might be a great player in the right team and system (wing-back?) but I'm afraid I think we are better without him. |
 | News Comment | Howe: Ipswich Made It Difficult For Us, First Goal Was Key at 05:29:28
That game summed up two big things we’re lacking in the PL: 1. The dark arts and sh!thousery of winning penalties, getting players booked, nagging the ref etc… 2. A decent set piece coach for both attack and defence. |
 | News Comment | Morsy: We Know There's a Great Opportunity to Come Back at 21:40:38
Next season looks promising. We thrashed Coventry 4-1 away in the FA Cup, without our first XI and without Delap starting. If Sheffield United go up, then there will be no strong teams left to compete with. Leicester need a complete revamp and have poor players stuck on massive wages, Southampton are a mess and we have the core of an exciting team of players who have excelled in the Championship in the past as well as talented youth. We might look like a poor team at the moment in the PL, but the gap is so vast that we're likely the favourites to win the Championship next season. Uppa Town! |
 | News Comment | Burgess Linked With La Liga Move at 07:02:03
A great move for him vs Championship next season. Shame as we’ve been better with him in the te this season - should have played more. Now we need an amazing replacement so we have a team next season that won’t just storm the Championship, but be ready for the PL the season after. |
