| News Comment | Jewell: Better Side But Lacked Cutting Edge at 23:05:08
Lets not get ahead of ourselves, we are not relegation candidates at this stage. Yes we might be 3rd from bottom now but lets not forget we are only three points off of 8th. Two wins in a row from Wolves and Charlton would probably see us into the play offs. Lets have a bit of reality please |
| News Comment | Chambers Impressed By Hungry Town Squad at 13:20:31
Very impressive signing considering premier league clubs were chasing him too. So far it's been a very good summer, prospects such as Hewitt signed and Kourouma close is very encouraging, Klug back at the club is excellent news and then Chambers and a potential few more signings. Also shipping out all of the deadwood such as Priskin, Leadbitter etc... All very encouraging and with a few more signings we could have a real push this year. Would like to hear all of the morons now who were saying we can never tie up deals when there are other clubs interested. COYB |
| News Comment | Hewitt Deal Done at 15:04:51
Everyone now get off Paul Jewell's back. PJ has obviously realised that the Joel Ward signing wasn't happening for whatever reason and has acted extremely quickly in tieing this deal down instead. Fair play to him in the speed that he pushed this through and by the sounds of it a very very promising player. Looked at by Arsenal, Everton and Chelsea, very highly rated, "the next Bale" in the Welsh under 21's at 17 years old, youngest ever Macclesfield player making alot of appearances at such a young age. Everything's in his favour so very happy. Clearly PJ saw Ward coming in as a straight replacement for Edwards to take a sub role or maybe be pushed forward into midfield but with this signing, PJ obviously feels Edwards can still do a job at RB for now and bring Hewitt on steadily through the season. Very wise move by PJ and not only PJ but Clegg and Evans should be praised! More of the same please. |
| News Comment | Ward Still Weighing Up Options at 14:03:12
Everyone that says Jewell should keep his mouth shut are deluded. PJ actually very rarely gives anything away in the way of who he is looking at signing, as is the same with most managers. All this speculation comes from journos and agents, not managers. Also people saying nobody ever joins us when other clubs are in for them are wrong too, Bowyer, Stockdale, Cresswell, etc.... |
| News Comment | Smith Signs New Deal at 08:43:24
Fantastic news, been brilliant in the back half of last season so long may that continue. Even if he's not a guarenteed starter next season, he's ideal as backup. Now for Scotland to sign his. |
| News Comment | Stevenson on Ayr at 08:46:33
AlanMahon2011 - What on earth are you talking about? At first he was getting up to match sharpness having not played in a number of months and i was even quite impressed with his runs to support the strikers and how he tracked back to help the midfield. You clearly however wern't at Doncaster on the last day of the season. Stevenson had a blinder and was a dead cert for man of the match. his goal was fantastic, made some great runs to support the forwards, he composed and dominated the midfield and made some excellent tackles. |
| News Comment | Clegg: Martin Will Be Offered New Deal at 14:03:34
Some people on here are nothing short of stupid, they seem to think that offerin Lee Martin a contract is as easy as going from absolutely nothing to here's a £10,000 per week offer, Lee says yes and its done and finished and we all hear about it within the next day. I'm no expert on footballing contracts however i know that it takes a lot longer than that and there's alot of consultation and formalities that goes with it. I do however like Simon Clegg's witty stab at David Norris, Clegg's right though, I bet Norris wishes he stayed here now, who knows, could he possibly be back next year? |

| News Comment | Stevenson: I'll Be Fitter and Better Next Season at 08:48:46
I couldnt speak highly enough of him at Doncaster. He was absolutely brilliant. Commanded the midfield, demanded the ball, scored a fantastic goal and made some wonderful tackles, some being very important too. Think Ryan could be a big player for us next season. |
| News Comment | Smith Close to Signing New Deal at 20:39:13
"itfc1981" and "blue041273" - Get a grip on reality you two. You both make the point about the manager not knowing what's going on. You dont honestly think in this journalistic dominated world that Paul Jewell comes out and says exactly what's going on, when, how, who and so on. PJ knows alot more than he lets on as do other football managers, politicians, celebrities etc.. They say what the general public want to hear, not the complete truth all of the time.If PJ came out and said "Tommy Smith will definitely sign his contract in the next week" poltroons like yourselves would be up in arms if Tommy hadn't signed by next week and the journos would then write stories relating to the matter, hence why PJ and everyone else are cagey in press conferences often. |
| News Comment | New Scout a Summer Target at 08:53:32
"Hadleighboyblue" - Aaron Cresswell being top of the list as well as Jay Emmanuel Thomas, Andy Drury to name a few as well as youth players such as Byron Lawrence who came from Histon, a scout must have been sent to look at players like him. |
| News Comment | Jackett Delighted With Trotter at 08:44:10
Trotter never looked like a star at Ipswich and I personally don't think he'd be the player he is now if he'd stayed at Ipswich due to a number of factors, the biggest being a lack of first team opportunities for him. He made a good move for himself. However i don't see why this story is of any relevance to us. The story is about Kenny Jackett talking about one of his own players. Completely unrelated to Ipswich as far as i'm concerned |
| News Comment | Cresswell Player of the Year at 23:03:06
Good news, I voted for Aaron Cresswell, however i do think this shows just how much of a poor season this has been. When was the last time a left back won player of the year? If it's a good season you will nearly always see strikers, (for scoring the goals to make it a good season) creative midfielders (for pulling the strings and creating the chances) or centre halves (for keeping strikers out and constantly being a rock at the back) winning this award, hence a left back winning it this year shows a poor season. However i'm not a moaner like some on this site and am actually extremely positive about next season. We do need a goalkeeper, one or two centre backs, possibly a right back, a winger and a striker or two. So a big job in the summer and i really think this summer will be so decisive for PJ. Sink or swim, i for one hope he gets it right. COYB |

Strange how "jas0999" can make even the most positive of stories sound negative in some way. Might as well not support the club really Jas0999 as your input is by no means wanted, needed or even necessary. There's a club up the road called Norwich City who would welcome your support i'm sure. |
| News Comment | Jewell: No News on Grant Until After Evans Meeting at 14:35:50
“It's not as if Marcus Evans hasn't spent money, he's spent money since he's been here, but money is getting tighter.” In other news Marcus Evans is on his way back from three weeks in the bahamas today. |

| News Comment | Leadbitter: I Would Like to Stay at 08:55:15
Monarch_Blue - I completely disagree to be honest. In the real world, many people have to move on for more money as it is their livleyhoods but i think when you have accumulated as much money over the years as footballers have (and in this case Grant Leadbitter's) 8-10 years footballing career already, I think these footballers can afford to take huge pay cuts. With the money they already have they can look after themselves with an extremely cooshty lifestyle even if his wages were halved. |
| News Comment | Town Linked With New Move for Pearce at 14:38:22
As has been mentioned, I highly doubt he would join Southampton as he was "so committed to pompey" in the transfer windor due to his love of the club. He would certainly go from hero to villain if he joined the saints and not only that would be clear that all coming from his mouth would be utter bullsh**. I believe this is a straight race between us and west ham. Wouldnt blame the guy for joining west ham if he did though due to potential premiership football next season. COYB |
| News Comment | Hutchings: There Could Be Changes at Hull at 09:09:51
Is it just me who thinks that maybe there is more than meets the eye with this whole Jimmy Bullard thing. Last time we played Hull he conveniently had the flu for around four weeks. Now i'm not saying that the guy wasn't ill but i've never known a flu to last for four weeks. And this time he's conveniently suspended for the trip to the KC. Maybe i'm completely over thinking it all but could there be something more to it? |
