Brendan, I'm just wondering what Marcus taking over has to do with the attitudes of players that were there long before he came, with the behaviour being reflected across the leagues at other clubs too. Those are the reasons for him leaving, none have anything to do with Evans.
P.S. If I see one more comment about Chopra not caring I'll realise just how ignorant some fans are. |

Alan Mahon was the biggie for me, made such a difference when he was here and gutted us when he left. Also Noble, who has since proven his quality at West Ham. Finally, as has been pointed out by many above- Sixto Peralta. What a guy!

Think the blog is spot on - certainly our most 'talented' player and, along with Hyam, our biggest hope for the future?
What's telling to me is that the disgruntled fans appear to be more voal away from home than away. I've seen a few very good games form JET, particularly when he came on against Bolton (IMO he turned the game for us, worked hard, and created chances). Home fans haven't seen as much of this.. perhaps because he gets so much grief at Portman Road. (As long as i live I'll never ever forgive the sarcastic applause when he was substituted in the first game of the season - disgrace).
He is the new scapegoat, the new Leadbitter. And if he were to go elsewhere can I suggest we'd be likely to see him do as well as other unpopular figures from the past - just as Grant is doing well at Boro. |

With all due respect to Hull and Watford, when we visited them last year they were the worst football pitches i've ever seen and that was for one reason and one reason only... they share with Rugby. I appreciate that it would bring a lot of money in to the club and surrounding areas but we've worked really hard to fix that pitch and it is looking berautiful again. Elton John's concert had a huge effect on it, remember? |

Derby DO want Davies, that's why they're pushing for a bigger price. But the player wants to move south for family reasons.
I'm with BlueBoots, don't pay more than we think he's worth and i'm pretty sure they'll drop the price son anyway. They won't want him to go for next to nothing in January.

Karlosfandangal: just to let you know, he has had a break because we was injured for a short period before the Olympics. We spoke to him at the Ricoh and he said he's been training with the boys a little before he had to go to the Olympics and he's dying to get back to it 'to push for my place'. Good guy, lovely lad and one who's set to prove himself this year. |

tractorintheloft is absolutely right, the reaction early on was that we didn't want the club to overspend on a striker (a non-essential signing, as arc says). Sit tight and wait and see what happens, we've been doing it all summer another couple of weeks won't hurt.
P.S. TownOnTheUp though I see your point Chambers was reportedly well over £10k, i think we'll offer higher wages to the higher quality players - like Davies.

Totally agree with JewellintheTown and several others, great experience for Tommy and, after a few less than confident defensive performances from our side last season, surely any extra experience he can get is a good thing.
Looking forward to travelling to the Ricoh to support our boy next week!
