“The magic of that day, the lustrous green turf, the clamour of the people, the noise, the colour, the aroma of cigarettes, set me up for the next 63 years of following the Town.†Wonderful. I really enjoyed this lovely blog. |
| News Comment | Lee Takes on Bury Town Role at 09:02:25
Alan was on the panel at two ITFC London events I attended in the last couple of years - his contributions were terrific and I could not have been more impressed. Good luck in your new Bury Town role Alan. I hope you'll always have a close bond with ITFC in one form or another. |

Quality player who can play different positions on the right, and PL knows him from Blackburn. A yes from me. |
| News Comment | Lee Thrilled Former Rotherham Team-Mate Hurst is Town's New Boss at 13:24:46
Alan Lee has been on the panel at two ITFC London events I've been to over the last couple of years. He's an impressive and clever guy, thoughtful, has a caring attitude and a natural and charming way of speaking when putting across his views. Nice to read his comments about Paul Hurst here. |

As long as the players don't take to the field in a knickerless state. I'll see myself out... |
| Blog Comment | My Life and Times as an Ipswich Supporter at 10:11:44
Written from the heart. Your second and third paragraphs in particular are lovely. Your memory of the crowd being left "impatient for the next game and more of the same" perfectly captures what we once had and what is so glaringly missing under the current owner and manager. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: I Won't Be Driven Out By a Small Section of Fans at 12:24:49
Unfortunately it's far from just a small section of fans and there's evidence of that in the online polls, poor attendance figures, reactions of fans inside the stadium etc. I believe most fans are realistic and don't expect fantastic results to be delivered on a modest budget, but a change to a much more attractive style of play would make a huge difference. That simply isn't going to happen under the current manager. |
| News Comment | Town Announce New Shirt Sponsor at 13:17:34
UGH!!! Personally I have no objection in principle to (adult) shirt sponsorship from an online gaming company, but: (a) the logo looks UNBELIEVABLY cheap and tacky; and (b) hardly a prestigious brand for our club to be associated with (has anyone ever heard of them? Anyone??) |
| Blog Comment | A Death of Our Club By a Thousand Cuts at 12:46:46
Very accurate and hits every nail firmly and squarely on the head. Agree with the post above saying that this complements Superfrans' blog very well. Not a happy read but well done for saying what needs to be said. |
| News Comment | Spence: I Don't Feel Rusty, I Feel Good to Go at 17:42:55
Living in the MK area and consequently having seen Jordan play many times, I'm confident that if/when he gets an opportunity he will do well for us. A good footballer and athlete who won't let anyone down, whether it's at full-back, wing-back or centre-back. |
| News Comment | Free Coach Travel for Forest Game for Fans Who Were at Lincoln at 14:34:23
While I hesitate to criticise any positive gesture by the club, this doesn't seem a well thought out offer. 1. A fan living in or near Ipswich may be able to take up this offer, a fan in London / Manchester / the Northeast etc. probably cannot. 2. Offer relates to one game only - not everyone who was at Lincoln will be available to go to Forest on a Sunday in May. 3. High chance this fixture will be a meaningless one. If the club wanted to make an offer, then a voucher approximately equal to the cost of a ticket for an away game of the fan's choice up to the end of this season might have been a fairer and more flexible gesture. |
| News Comment | McCarthy: A Game We Should Never Have Lost at 18:31:42
"We're away from home, it's not like the game on Friday. It's a different game completely." FFS. By all accounts Wolves should have beaten QPR comfortably on Saturday, in which case QPR would have come into this game on a run of 7 defeats in a row and nudging the bottom 3. Yes the defending for both goals was very poor but so were your incredibly negative last 2 substitutions in a game that was massively there for the taking! |
