Jewell: Summer Recruitment Already Under Way
at 11:20:06

Can see some great things coming in the next few weeks, personally would like to see a new second striker to help scotland out cause he wont play 50 games in a season next year and we will need another 15 goals a season type player.

on the 14 he signed last year I feel he did the most sensible thing he could brought in experienced players to help protect from the drop ... and repair morale in the dressing room.......... lets not forget that this was a dressing pulled completely with it seeming like the last man out after RK's horror show.
These old heads would have had the brief ... "enjoy the money keep the squad up beat and play with some heart"

They did all of things and saved us from the drop.... lets not forget that the seven games bulled actually played in yielded 21 points .... a massive help to us now

Jewell: More Patience Needed in Transfer Market
at 08:22:48

itfc 1981 _ lmao !!!

Jewell there are many great players playing at a lower level lets go after them !!! cheaper hungry younger players with First team experience and better fees these are theplayers which will where the badge with pride and will form the squad you talk of, not these players with over indulgent and over inflated views of them selves having had 10mins at the end of a season for man utd 4 years ago

Jewell: We've Made Mistakes
at 14:46:39

Agreed we have not signed a decent central defender in about 20 years !! imo but we do have a defender with who is undefeated in the world cup finals (not to many championship teams can boast that) a great left back in cressie both of whom have come on leaps and bounds this season. We need an Alexander (went to rangers) or Kelvin Davis style keeper again, something which we should be breaking the bank for and until we do we will have to play on with the theory we can score more than you attitude, and yes our defending is pure comedy at times

Jewell: We've Made Mistakes
at 14:22:24

Pabloisgod84,
Agreed this season has been crap but when you consider a year ago we had no midfield as they were all leaving no real strike threat having had them sold no real flair players having seen them leave to mediocre championship teams and high flying league one teams. Players here who after the previous manager were seen in b&q buying rope .... because they could not see how they were going to get out of this mess.... He has rebuilt and has made progress I have seen a team turn form being scared to play (keane era) to a team now wanting to play and actually outplaying opposition, (palace, watford first half) so yes there has been an amount of rebuilding.

as for the scum ... do you know what they have that we don't........
ill tell ya a LOUD LOYAL FAN BASE (25k ave gate in league one I think I am sure the stattos can correct me) and it has taken them a lot more than 2 years to rebuild to where they are now.....
we can learn a lot from them yes, but the biggest thing we can learn is patients and to support our team

Jewell: We've Made Mistakes
at 13:47:41

a few things

1. do any of you have £100M
2. It takes BALLS to admit your mistakes, how many of us would go to the boss and say "hey I got it wrong"
3.It takes a hell of a lot of time to build a squad (Burley 5 years, Robson 8 years, Ramsey 4 years) approx..... it never goes over night
4. we do need a better chief exec no doubt, I do feel that is where the weakness is!
5. we need to support our team we support the shirt the club the BADGE not necessarily the people wearing it they I do agree have to earn us chanting there name but we can sing for our club, and when those players do become heroes then they will understand how they have earn it.

so the ME doubts - put up or shut up
the PJ doubters let him build support him give him the time previous great managers of this club have had to create teams capable of doing great things.

it takes time for the club to be rebuilt it will never happen overnight. it begun this year lets see where we are in 2 years min!

Pompey Already Talking to Clubs
at 12:15:56

I doubt Halford would come, something to do with him hating us !!! as for the others they don't see us as being prestigious enough for them which is why they will end up with Southampton, West Ham Leeds etc.

players take into account the atmosphere at clubs when they play..... would you wanna join a club which has such a quiet atmosphere ?

money s not always the answer, it maybe that he was very disruptive in the squad.... other issues will often play a bigger part,

besides you never know what was being demanded by the agents on the players behalf meaning we did not even bother to waste time on the contract offer.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

enough of this stupid sell talk we are trying to build a team, one which will win promotion and keep us up the last thing want to be doing is selling the few flair players we have...

QPR Eyeing JET as Blues Again Linked With Green

Jimmy, notts,
I agree the atmosphere at home games is dire having taken my children to there 1st home game, those around us looked at my daughters as though they were screaming obscenities when all they were doing is cheering our team on.
I was very underwhelmed for them because the atmosphere was so dire even after we went 1 nil up (Leicester home) still no singing no cheering ... nothing... as our away support which I have become very accustomed too would say, it really was football in a library. depressing and on a day like that when we travelled 250 miles to watch the game made it feel and seem very expensive and uninspiring.

The club needs to fix so much about the place i am not sure if they even know where to start, personally I would move the original north stand faith back together in the north stand a reuniting of a one formidable singing force. second I would move the away support into the other end of the cobbold stand and lastly I would create an "old miserable farts club" where you sit if you don't want to sing chant or be apart of a party atmosphere, that brings me to the last point ... where has the party atmosphere gone !!!! all into to ave a laugh a few beers(maybe) and sing your hearts out for the lads attitude
It costs so so much to go ( an impressive £87 for 5 of us a 6,7,11 yearold oap and adult ticket)
why not have fun enjoy it and sing loud and proud?

Singing when your losing is the hardest thing to do but we do it every other week at away grounds (watford, brighton, Palace) to name but three games this season.
sorry lots of points here maybesomeone will pick them up, probably not tho !!!
