Season Preview 2015/16
at 16:50:11

Well done on last seasons predictions though, getting 5 of top 7 correct. Most alarming letdown ( happened with most people) was Wigan. Usually is one or two total surprises in tthis division . Who will it be this season ????

Season Preview 2015/16
at 16:29:54

Enjoyed reading this article and agree with most of content. I think in the championship, the
strength and nous of the manager is most important, more so than quality of player. This obviously bodes well for Town. One total disagreement on your predictions I have is Reading, yes suffered with cup run but still won away at 5 of top 7 last season including us, Norwich and of course saving our play-off place with victory at Derby on last day of regular season. I predict Town, Hull and Reading to fight it out for automatic.

Released Defender Sowunmi Set for Yeovil
at 08:57:23

Top man, saw Omar play for Lowestoft a few times , very accomplished, powers of recovery excellent, threat up front too. Maybe gets caught ball watching sometimes but that's just over enthusiasm. Also brought Tyrone up to watch as well so will miss both of them on the Meadow. All the best, will hear plenty from them in the future.

Season Review - January

'' Play-off semi final defeat , I predict for them'' Give that man (or lady) a lolly !!
From the December review - “Ipswich have the luxury of being able to play both football and also long ball when needed. Their front men are good in the air and on the deck.'' I found this the most profound statement, unfortunately the loss of Joniesta and Didz and the resultant less effectiveness of Bish, meant for 2nd half of season long ball became the norm. Certainly though at this stage of the season we were the best team in the league, combining ability with the commitment of the team spirit, we could and should have made it, but even under the management of Joe, George and Sir Bob , many seasons have finished with the heartfelt 'what could have been'. Reasons??? and would like to hear yours but maybe 'too nice, sporting' , 'lack of depth', 'location on map to attract greater pool of players' ...... add yours ?

Season Review - November
at 14:10:26

Some unbelievable great moments there and December got even better but sadly that's as good as it got regard league position. At this stage I had said we are the best team in this league as skill and ability did show itself, allied with the work ethic and team spirit this was a recipe for ultimate success. As we know though the creative players are injury targets and ultimately that cost us as quality of performance diminished for rest of season. Still some great memories to come though with the mass following at St Marys , the last minute and sweet justice at Watford, the late late relief winners and the unforgettable din once again at capacity Portman Road for the play-off.

McCarthy: Great Time for a Break
at 20:22:12

The EADT and Ipswich Star understands that manager Mick McCarthy has been told that he will only be able to bolster his injury hit squad with expensive loan signings if his faltering side can emerge from the next three fixtures — Middlesbrough (a), Bolton (h), Watford (a) — still in the top-six mix.

McCarthy Bitterly Disappointed With Results But Not Performances
at 09:11:26

MM is right about the bonkers league but when it comes to the business end of season results are seen as more crucial, looking back over our season the month of October may have been the most important, we had 4 games Cardiff(a)Nottingham Forest(a), Blackburn(h) Huddersfield(h) we had the lead in every game well into 2nd half and some great performances. 12 points should and could have been the reward, but we got 3 points from 3 draws. Those extra 9 points would now given us 70 in total and we would sit top of league.

McCarthy Bitterly Disappointed With Results But Not Performances
at 08:59:21

Our last top notch attacking performances were in December ie Charlton, Brentford, our last top defensive performance was 1st match January ie cup tie at Southampton. In 14 matches since 5 have been very poor creating chances Derby(h) Saints(h) Wigan(h) and Rotherham(a) Norwich(a),,,, 4 average performances Birmingham(h) Sheffw(h)Reading(h) Millwall(a) but 3 of those were wins,,,, and 5 good to excellent performances Fulham(a)Brighton(a)Leeds(a)Middlesbrough(a)Brentford(h) but only one win down to some horrendous individual mistakes both defensive and glaring opportunities missed, lack of variety at several setpieces and a giving away of cheap corners , freekicks. Lets just believe we can get it right to snatch 6th place then it becomes a 3 game season (3 draws and penalties could be enough). Cut out the silly mitakes, make most of our ample chances cos we are creating again, maybe a class loan signing eg Joniesta, a little lady luck comes our way again and the ultimate prize can still be ours!!

McCarthy: Season May Have Taken Toll on Backline
at 09:28:40

Lets face the truth, over achieved from an honest bunch, we would still be in our normal 13th to 17th position if it wasn't for Murphs goals. Coupled with the loss of Didz which nullifies Bish's effectiveness, the loss of Luke Hyamwhich loses the thrust the team has become too predictable. Tommy needs an arm round shoulder and given a break from the intense pressure and return for play-offs. Also one or two top loan additions as ME promised last week to gel and the 3 play-off matches would see a revitalised Town with pre Christmas form and isn't it the best way to win promotion anyway COYB ITID

Tabb: Top Two Still Within Our Grasp
at 10:09:16

With the team we were able to pick on Saturday, that was a good decent performance. We will not see much on the floor creative football until Didz is back, then he makes Bis and Bru better more confident players. As for scapegoats Tommy Smith has had 2 solid performances, Tabby has took on an immense role for the team and Johnny Parr will score goals as always backing up attacks and looking for rebounds.

Leeds United 2-1 Town - Match Report
at 13:31:24

There is enough talent in our squad to get automatic. Sunday was awful even embarrassing but still created 3 good chances where a little more composure in penalty box would have succeeded as Freddy sees keeper is going to block, just bring ball back inside keeper and slot into empty net aka Marcus Stewartesque. Same with several chances this season. Also vary free-kicks and corners, never see an inswinging free-kick as goal home to Sheff Weds last season. Lack of creativity without Didz and Teddy Bishop needs that support from McGoldrick, they link so well. Luke Hyam also missed as can collect off back 4 and not always best with distribution but at least better than long hoof all the time. Of course Joniesta multiple touches of ball in match would be great to have back for run -in and possible play-off at worst. Yes performances at Wigan, Forest, Brentford, Fulham and home to Watford, Boro and Charlton have shown that quality is here, just get belief and players back again.
