Skuse: We Believe Things Will Turn
at 08:22:11

If we're going to turn things around, we need the sort of turn like a fighter jet pulling 9G, our turn around is equivelent to a 40T truck turning in a tight depot and now has broken down!

Lambert: Club Needs to Be Rebuilt, Some Players Will Go
at 11:53:19

@IpswichT62OldBoy
ME wasn't the owner when Joe Royle was working his miracles, we had a similar lack of investment then under the final years of Sheepshanks, however the money wasn't there to invest and we'd been in administration and had to sell many of our assets such as Stewart, Holland, Bent etc for not a lot of money. Had Joe been allocated the sort of money Keane wasted I'm sure things could've been a lot different.
It looks like Evans financial management to me (this is just my opinion, no fact in this at all) could be down to either one of two things.
Firstly, Keane wasted the money so badly, Evans has had his fingers burned and doesn't want others wasting money, or more possibly, Evans may not be cash rich, and gave Keane what and all he could on a gamble that didn't pay off, now, apart from the money which is really just investment for cash flow, there just simply isn't enough money available for funding player purchases.

Lambert: Club Needs to Be Rebuilt, Some Players Will Go
at 08:51:38

Got to love these fans calling for Evans to go, go where?
Evans is fully to blame for the mess we find ourselves in, he owns the club and I'd love nothing more than some other very wealthy person to come and and make him an offer but in the state we're in, who'd want to buy. The only good thing Evans does is help keep us afloat with the required investment each year to run the club, but unfortunately that's where it stops and it seems to be assumed we can do miracles on the pathetic budgets we've had each year.
I'd always said, had Evans backed McCarthy with some decent funds, he'd have probably gotten us promoted and whilst his football was terrible and lost the fans from a points and league position point of view who can argue with what was achieved on such a budget.
I think it seems to me that possible Lambert doesn't want to work under such constraints, but then to to the job that he's identified needs doing, to not allow him a decent budget will only mean that our fall carries on.
Whilst I'd love to be an Evans out person, the reality is who's going to come in? So the reality is, Evans, back Lambert and stop the tight fisted approach to running this once great club!

Lambert: We Didn't Do Enough in Both Boxes
at 09:16:27

I wouldn't say anyone is turning on Paul but it seems that some are not overly happy with his assessment (fair enough) I just hope we don't actually turn on him in the next few games if the results don't come. Unfortunately, I don't think we can be saved, we're as good as down, how can we attract the players we need in January when we're in this position? Mick somehow held the team together enough to get the results through dull, uninspiring football and Paul Hurst destroyed the club with his League One/Two player project.
If Rafa has been saying he thinks it'll take a miracle for Newcastle to stay up for only knows what it's going to take for us to stay in this league. I only hope if the inevitable happens Paul Lambert stays and rebuilds us and brings us back up again.
Unfortunately this is all a product of years of underinvestment in the playing squad, where Evans has tried to be tight with bringing players in and unfortunately managers like Mick justified Evans actions, now it's different and it shows but sadly I think all too late to stop.

Lambert Can't Wait to Get Going
at 21:00:58

Welcome to Ipswich Paul, lets hope it's third Paul lucky!
As for those stupid media muppets going on about his Norwich connections, he's a football manager, employed to manage a football club, in the same way when I was in retail management I had moved from one competitor in the field I worked in on to another, I was just focused on the job at hand and that is I'm sure what Paul will do. Good luck Paul and let's hope we don't get too many numpties on his back from the stands or those ‘fans' will help mark any further downfall themselves! Look at the bigger picture for a change.

Great result, well down Town. Let's hope this kicks us on for the rest of the season. I like Hurst and want him to succeed but we couldn't have gone on too much longer, let's hope this isn't just a blip and is actually the sign of things to come. Only issue, that stupid international break. COYB!

I don't get the calling for Burley, I suppose typical of Town fans in a way, always looking to the past and never the future!
The bloke hasn't held a management job since 2012, hardly covered himself in glory elsewhere and was also a part of our financial downfall by spending too much on dross Finidi George for £3m anyone?

I was optimistic about this season but I think this is showing that it's not working out for Paul. I think we should give him 5 more games and if he hasn't made considerable progress then it's time to try something else, trouble is who is is available and who would want to come to a club in this, the toughest of leagues with no money. I think our time at this level has come to an end and I'm not sure Evans has the funds to get us where we need to be. Oh well, we might be competitive in League 1.

Hurst: We Showed Them Too Much Respect at Times
at 08:23:25

The problem is, well lots of them really. Hurst is still trying to find his way, integrating several new faces and managing at a higher level, I'm sure he's more than capable. However we've had years of under investment and in reality McCarthy did well with no money but was time for him to go, now we're picking up league 1/2 players and yes, some of them can be undiscovered 'gems' but surely not all and if our transfer policy (due to lack of funds for both the transfer fee and wages - I'm assuming we dont have much to spend but I think a pretty reasonable assumption) is to carry on this way then we could well be in trouble. This year we've taken in a decent amount in transfer fees and although spent some, we haven't spent it on proven quality replacements, simply because we cannot afford to with the prices around nowadays. I simply think Evans doesn't seem to have pockets deep enough to make us competitive in this league so maybe its time we sell our souls to some rich Arabian or Chinese businessmen, after all that's what everyone seems to do and it works, or can do with the right owners. Trouble is, you've got to find the right buyer in the first place.

Birmingham Linked With Further Bialkowski Bid

£3.5m and Stockdale or £5m and Kuszczak. One has already been here and the other was linked with a move here a few years back. I'd rather have Stockdale out of the two if this was the transfer arrangement.

Town Launch New Kits
at 23:33:15

Love how PC we all are nowadays, people taking the moral high ground over a betting company and how betting ruins lives! Did we all complain when Greene King sponsored us? Because alcohol ruins lives too! Anyway, we're all entitled to an opinion, I won't become a gambling addict because we're sponsored by an online betting company, however I do understand some people's concerns, I'm sure there's some of you out there who know someone who has hit huge debts because of gambling and the repercussions it brings.
As to the actual kit, I like it, however I can't stand the sponsors logo, it looks awful! Not because they're an online casino, just because it's flipping awful.

McCarthy: A Strange Feeling
at 08:23:15

MM and TC should just now be put on garden leave, I wonder if another bad result or two and that just may happen. Maybe allow Klug the role of caretaker whilst we see the season out. I don't see any benefit in allowing them to continue in their roles now.

McCarthy Denies Aiming Tirade at Fans
at 17:58:57

I'm appalled by this, if it truly was aimed at our travelling fans then his situation at the club should be untenable, Evans should initiate a full investigation into this at least but in reality he should be sacked. I've not been an outright Mick outer before because despite the contempt for the fans at times which is clearly brought on by negative football and poor tactics he has done a good job in keeping us at least mid table when you consider our budget, however for me this is the final straw. Go now McCarthy, you are no longer wanted at this club!

McCarthy: Worst Home Game of the Season and Worst Performance
at 09:40:24

I haven't posted on here for ages because I'm so bored of the team I love but feel I have to. As has always been a problem for me due to work I don't get to many games but I'm not sure I'd want to now even if I did have time available at evenings and weekends. On one hand, McCarthy has done a decent job with no money, we could have faired worse under different management, in fact look at the Keane and Jewell years when we did have more money we were always fighting off relegation. However football isn't just about league position (think about it, mid table isn't bad for where we are financially) it's about entertainment and I don't see much of that going on. We do have players with technical ability but McCarthy seems to want to play an old fashioned way hoofball. Good managers adapt with the times, look at Big Sam, he was always known for his hoofball but he seems to have adapted to get his teams to play so why can't Mick work this out. I feel it's time for change but who. Would we be happy playing decent football but struggling at the bottom, somehow I suspect we would be moaning about that too. I just hope we see a new manager next year and that Evans gets it right this time.

Ipswich Town 0-3 Derby County - Match Report
at 13:14:10

I haven't been to a game for ages, initially I stopped going because of work. I work weekends and usually don't finish until at least 7pm so just can't get there. I'm glad I changed jobs now, I don't really want to be watching this cross! Also football is very expensive these days and doesn't represent good value for money for me, especially when we're served up this rubbish.
Whilst I'm firmly in the Mick out camp I think Evans has to take the blame, we've spent hardly any money in the last 5 years, Evans seems to think it can all be done on a shoestring budget and the problem was for a while Mick was doing quite well on just that, I can't believe he doesn't want to sign players, he must be frustrated at the situation as well and has said as much. Even if we'd signed these few players on £1m + fees would they be good enough, look at the money other clubs spend in this division just to compete, Sheff Wed spending £10m on a player (maybe, still not confirmed) the first Joker let go and they are usually there or there abouts in the play offs but never serious automatic contenders and they've spent blood money in the past on players too. I read League one here we come!

McCarthy: Seven-Figure Bids in for "Quite a Number of Players"
at 10:33:41

I'd said it before on a previous thread, £1m might sound almost exciting compared to the frees and low transfer fees we've been dealing in right now but £1m now is probably like £250k 10 years ago, not something to get excited about. The reason I say that is it now seems to be a very average price, so nowadays it seems you pick up a gem for not a lot (Creswell, Mings) or you're paying over the top for good players at this level, £5m + and we just haven't got that money.
I remember hearing on the radio, Bristol City in summer '15 apparently put in a £12m bid for a player, can't remember who and they went elsewhere but I remember thinking if newly promoted sides like this are bidding that sort of money, what chance do we have?

McCarthy: Offers Upped But No Nearer Third Signing
at 16:43:12

3-4 bids of £1m +? Why? We've not backed our managers in years since Keane and Jewell pi$$ed the money up the wall, why when it's obvious that we are in need of a new manager do we back him now? Let him go and let a new man have some money to spend. However, having said that, prices are so inflated nowadays you can't get excited about the prospect of a £1m player anymore, will morexplain than like be a very average Championship player. £1m is the old £100k!
Players are either bargains at sub £100k and are a 'find' or they're £5m + because they have recognised potential, this figure of £1m is just about average I'd say so chances are these players won't really improve the squad!

McCarthy: It Would Take An Astronomical Bid
at 15:48:35

@hegansheros, I don't think we have Any worries about Murphy leaving. He is 31 now so I don't think there are any Prem clubs who are likely to come in for him or given his age pay the sort of money that would make a sale worthwhile, he's a very important player for us so I think it would take a bid of at least £5m to get him and I can't see anyone likely to pay that sort of money for a player who hasn't quite cut it at the top level and is in the latter years of his career.
