In defence of Blueboy- there are a lot of people on forums who can no longer speak their minds for fear of upsetting others and getting marked down. But those same people are more than happy to boo the team and single out individuals inside the stadium. If I had 1K in my pocket and went into the bookies to place a bet on whether we will or won't stay up,(unfortunately) I know which way I'd be betting. And this from someone who turned down the nomination of 'Supporter of the year' in successive seasons !! Supporting the team isn't based on whether we can be unnaturally happy and positive all the time, but whether we can be constructively critical, perceptive and honest. Delusion affects 99.9% of all football fans. It makes for very unbalanced and biased opinions. |

Alex Scott !!!! Much like with Lee Hendrie, Micah Richards, or Rob and Romesh, i ask myself 'WHY' ?!! It won't be long before this lot are presenting Songs of Praise, Question time, or reading the news. Just pull the balls out of the bag and tell us the name of the team. I don't need to know who Millwall lost to in the 5th Rd in 1983 or debate whether our victory over Cardiff in 78 will have any bearing, or give us an advantage, if we face them again in 2025. |

I would tend to agree with him. It was a very flattering scoreline. The neutral reports that I've heard have all suggested that there was nothing in our general play that made us look like a club from a higher division. We were clinical with our limited chances, but those chances came with a large degree of 'helping hand'. It's a good looking result on paper, but far from a jaw dropping or convincing performance. It certainly doesn't fill me with optimism as far as an upturn in league form is concerned. |

I never thought we looked likely. I cannot remember the last time we built up a head of steam or had a period of concerted pressure in a game. We have a half chance every 20-30mins. Just to add, I believe that our regular championship eleven would beat the current crop. I know that it doesn't work like that, and a few players from that era remain, but we had an identity and an understanding in our play back then. Nothing is 'must win' until we're 8pts behind with 3 games left or 5pts behind with 2 games left and so on. But tomorrow is a monumental game which represents our best chance of sneaking out of the bottom three again. Anything other will certainly feel like 'curtains' with the upcoming fixtures unlikely to produce anything positive. Massive improvements in both performance and attitude are required against what will still be a dangerous opposition. |

A terrific last six minutes after a pitiful first eighty nine. We've actually become incredibly boring to watch. Gone is the brave spirit and freedom from the start of the season, replaced by a team with an inferiority complex who's only intent is damage limitation. Extroadinary to think that we're still talking about survival when we're so hopelessly out of our depth. The attitude needs to change. If we sit back and allow Southampton to have the ball next week, our last slender thread of hope will be extinguished. |

Unpleasant viewing. Very much back to the inferiority complex tonight and outclassed by a good outfit. Back in the day when getting a football lesson, teams would go long and try to win the second ball. Instead of that, all of our second half possession was watching the back four taking risks on the edge of our own box. It's a peculiar sport nowadays. We never recovered after Walton's uncharacteristically howler.......and there really is nothing else to add......because other for their long overdue second, nothing happened !! |
