Norwood on Target as U23s Win at Watford
at 15:43:29

BonneNIL.... Not just that. The drink driving showed utter contempt and lack of respect to common sense, the law, and the club.If he grows up and starts to show dedication to his job instead of behaving like a moron id happily see him back in the squad. Fell into the trap of trying to become a bigger name off the pitch than on it. Needs to start from scratch again and be a little bit more professional in his attitude.

Ipswich Town 0-2 Rotherham United - Match Report
at 22:02:49

Comfortably beaten by the team who set the benchmark at this level, and another reality check as to how far behind the better teams we still are. On the evidence of this it seems incredible to think that every department of the side needs strengthening on top of what we've already done in the transfer market. We are now requiring a run of form, the like of which I'm not sure we're capable of. I imagine Portsmouth fans were thinking the same a few weeks back, and now we are eating their dust. So I guess hope remains.....but only by the proverbial thread.

Bonne: I'm Hungry, I'm Starving For More Goals
at 14:09:25

I'm glad to hear this, because yesterday it didn't look it. His worst performance in a town shirt. Going a few goalless games doesn't worry me, but the lack of movement off the ball was puzzling. Looked tired and lethargic. No better time than tuesday to end the drought.

Sunderland 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 01:51:42

A disappointing defeat against a bog standard Sunderland team, and that final 5mins has probably kick started their season. What disappoints me the most is that we seemed more than content in the second half to settle for a 0-0 draw. They were there for the taking, but we created nothing and didnt look likely. Based on a fairly dominant first half showing we deserved something today, but a reluctance to go up a gear and move the ball quicker meant that they enjoyed a danger free second period. Aluko disappeared, Bonne hardly moved, Celina needs to be wide left and Chaplain as the ten. Edmundson once again the stand out performer. In real time I thought the pen was a cast iron cert. On second viewing on returning home it looks harsh. Damage already done by then. I fear Tuesday evening will bring more of the same. At the moment I doubt that we'll hit the consistency levels required to help atone for our slow start to the season to bridge the gap. We are nearly but not quite, and more weeks than not I'm left believing that we're not quite good enough.

Donacien Signs New Deal
at 19:48:48

Thoroughly deserved. We've always said that he's never let us down, and this season he is massively improved and extremely consistent. Always a good defender, he's added more to his game in the attacking third. Definitely benefitting from having better players around him. Good news.

Sunderland and Charlton Allocations Sell Out
at 11:00:29

Its amusing that the noisiest ones are also the ones that leave the ground early when we're behind, or refuse to applaud the players off if we lose. It's that difficult time in life when being an ultra/superfan is the ambition, but going through puberty means they can't handle their emotions if the result goes against us. Clap at Pompey, clap at Wycombe, but refused to....and abused those who did at Plymouth. Silly boys. I guess we've all been there. I had no doubt we'd sell out at Charlton...Sunderland I wont believe until I get there. Remarkable effort when you see where we currently are in the football world. Belief is growing, but Sunderland wont give a hoot about us. We need to silence them on the pitch and expose their current fragility. If their 30,000 give them backing, we'll not get a word in. We have to start fast on Saturday.

Oldham Athletic 1-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 02:43:19

We were awful for half an hr, but thankfully the equaliser gifted to us signalled a better last hour, and for me we just about shaded it by the end. Individually, very few players tonight staked a claim for a place in Saturday's line up. Aluko was excellent, Chaplain was as busy as ever, Edmundson again very reassuring. Very disappointed with Pigott, Harper, Fraser.....and god knows what's happened to Woolfie. I think Colchester beckons for him. An excellent pre- match pie, a pig of a journey home to South Wales, and a parking ticket as well. Another love/hate evening at the footy.

Evans: Nothing to Fear From Division's Top Sides
at 16:04:09

We fear nobody, but no one is going to admit to fearing us either. Anything is possible this season. At this point I'd very happily take 6th, but im confident we could go on a long winning streak. The soft underbelly is gradually getting tougher, and our attacking options must be the envy of the division. We may still regret that slow start to the season come may. Glad for Clements, I'd only seen him at Luton in the cup a few seasons back getting roasted by Cornick, and I never thought I'd ever see him in an Ipswich shirt again. Credit to him.

Ipswich Town 0-0 Oxford United - Match Report
at 17:20:29

I have no problem with this result against a genuinely decent side. Nothing gained but no damage done.Taking little crumbs...a clean sheet is good. We may be still playing catch up, but I honestly believe we'll go to Sunderland next week and do some damage.

Cook: Oxford Game Probably a Really Good Benchmark
at 15:57:57

I saw someone say "it's a must win" game and I went cold. We never win "must win" games. Personally I dont think it is, and if we dont... I'll be more than content with a point, because I honestly think we'll go to Sunderland and win. 6pts would be fantastic, 4pts would be very very acceptable. I expect this to be a really difficult game. An ultra critical Oxford fan that I know has assured me that apart from the odd blip they are excellent this season. Much like us. I expect two very evenly matched teams and probably the best opposition we've faced so far. Hopefully we edge it.

Town Place Norwood on Transfer List
at 15:54:33

TimmyH..... I think any one of us who's never driven whilst drunk, or done our daily job with as little dedication as this guy has a right to take the moral high ground. Unfortunately he forgot that he was a footballer and decided to go down the route of an internet 'celebrity', becoming more noted for his moronic behaviour than scoring goals. He never became the goal machine that many thought he would, and whilst I enjoyed his presence on the pitch and thought him most likely, it possibly shows what a desperate state we were in at the time.

Cook: We Keep Giving Teams Legs Up
at 08:42:08

RGP....People aren't clapping because they're happy, it's a sense of duty. Anybody that claps at Portsmouth but not at Plymouth, or is mystified why real fans applaud when we've lost is not wanted by any club. I saw a vacuous group yesterday who need to grow up quickly or stop attending games until they've gotten through puberty. We have a growing band of supporters who only clap when we're winning, and that is the epitome of pathetic support. A day of square pegs in round holes on the pitch. The less said about Woolfenden, Penney, and the use of Coulson wide right. The squad has so much more to offer. When the shackles come off we're very decent, but we see it too infrequently. Still time, but getting less likely with each passing week.

Plymouth Argyle 2-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 20:40:11

It's not often I blame the referee for a loss, but this clown was 100% responsible for the result today. Add the name of Robert Lewis to the list consisting of Stroud,D'urso and Ilderton. I dont think anybody who attended today will forget the ineptitude of the man.As for us...an unusual 11, and poor performances from Woolfenden, Penney and the strangely out of position Coulson, and Edwards is still flattering to deceive. Other than an incredible first 5mins, and a spirited final 10 where at least one of three excellent chances should have been taken for a deserved point this was pretty average fare. We are nearly but not quite. A soft under belly will certainly cost us come april. Finally, I find it extraordinary that we have a delinquent element of younger supporters who at the final whistle turned to those who were applauding the players off shouting "why are you clapping them" ?!! The fact that these morons are even asking the question suggests that they should be doing something else on a Saturday afternoon! Time to grow up boys. It's not all about singing when you're winning after all is it.

Cambridge United 2-2 Ipswich Town - Highlights
at 12:43:51

Everybody around me was moaning that the first goal should have been disallowed for a shove. As always I reserve judgement until I see the footage, and all I saw was a defender who should have been stronger and was muscled off the ball. For whatever reason Donacien got drawn across and three defenders were left in no mans leaving their fella in acres of space. I'm at the stage now where I think the Asda distribution warehouse could put a team together and we'd succumb to them late on at a set piece. Just a couple of burly 6 footers is all it needs. Desperately disappointing that this is occurring on an almost weekly basis.

Burns: We Should Be Looking For Six Points From the Next Two
at 09:26:18

It all depends which team turns up. A performance like the one against Doncaster restores hopes of a play off push, a performance like the one at Accrington leads to certain league 2 football next season. A win and a loss is a nailed on certainty.

Eleven Changes as Town Visit Gills in Papa John's Trophy
at 18:19:24

Without doubt the strongest 11 that we've ever fielded in this competition. I'm glad that Kenlock is getting a game. Whilst I've never been his biggest fan, his attitude and effort have never been in question. This is still a competition that I wouldn't attend, even if we got to the final, but having said that, getting that winning feeling around the club is very important, and I hope for a successful evening.

Cook: An Absolutely Shocking Performance
at 23:35:13

I'm finding it difficult to think of a more abject performance in very nearly a thousand games that ive attended. To think that 4 days previously we'd hit Donny for six, and played with absolutely zero confidence, and had only three attempts against a team who'd conceded 12 in their last three games. A bewildering performance and a horrible journey home. As yet, as much as I want to trust this manager and his squad, I simply cant.

Town Visit Accrington Chasing First Back-to-Back Wins
at 15:44:25

A game that we should be looking to win. But it also has the potential for.... 'coming back down to earth with a bang'. A similar second half tactic to the one shown at Lincoln, conceding possession and territory, will cost us dear against a tall side. If we dominate possession and stay on the front foot, it should be a relatively comfortable afternoon.

Butcher: I Want to See Football With No Heading
at 14:41:36

No no. Absolutely not. As sad as a football related health problem is, the laws surely cannot be changed because one in every 75,000 players may be affected in later life. These balls are like balloons nowadays. It's a well meaning concept, but I can help but despair at the world!
