So who do you suggest is a ‘proper footballing manager' that will make you rush to buy a season ticket? An example would be?

at 11:36:24

Just been touch with a WHU season ticket holder of many years for thoughts on Collinson.

Everyone at west ham loves jack collision he is a fab lad the best he had a serious knee injury and he doesn't train fully but would love him to get a good club and have a good career he is one of the good guys who deserves it I hope u offer him a contract he won't let anyone down - we were totally pissed off yesterday it was cruel - Tottenham were poor we were the better team but that's typical whu!!

Far-Flung Fans Meeting Up to Watch Season Opener
at 12:04:21

The Cottage Pub, Pervolia, Cyprus.
Until recently owned by an ardent Fulham supporter hence the name. Fortunately when he left he took all of the Fulham memorabilia that covered the walls with him. Now a Sports Bar in the truest sense.
Feeling very positive about this game. COYB

Watford 3-1 Town
at 18:37:39

A five hour flight yesterday to get to the game ....... Was it worth it? Well 4 games I have travelled to see this season and only one point to show, but yes it was worth the trip. Although we probably did not deserve a win the score flattered Watford. Great support from the travelling masses until we went two goals behind. However if it had gone 2-1 Ipswich with the header then I am sure we would have had at least a point. We played ok as a general summary and at times passed the ball well. The dream is not yet over.

Hyam covered a lot of ground and when Williams took players on he looked good. Shame he will not be with us next season, wherever we play. I wouldn't be as critical of Skuse as many. His first touch particularly on his chest is excellent, although today a number of passes went astray. Our back four, although not totally dominant did well except for letting 3 goals past us! Murthy spent more time wide right than I expected. I have read with interest posts over the last few weeks about Nouble. Mixed feelings about him today. For a big guy he doesn't present the physical threat I expected and seemed to have trouble dealing with defenders who were 'all over' him. Did well to create his one shot, but way over when he should have at least forced the goalkeeper to save.

Back to the sunshine tomorrow but will be with you on Monday via Ipswich Player - it does work!

Noon Deadline for Barnet Ticket Offer
at 20:07:15

Happen to be in UK and close to Barnet FC so went to the ground to get to tickets! Its actually a nice set up, although small with some impressive outside pitches. There doesn't appear to be any pubs very close to the ground except for one in Honeypot Lane, within walking distance. I wont be taking my car into the car parks within the complex although I did today as they are fairly small with signs saying you needed to pay £1 at the reception to get out! Could be a long queue. I will park on the many side streets about.

Anyway tickets ............... whilst I was there the 'girl' in the very small club shop who sorted mine said you could phone and order and then pick up at the Reception to get the 2:1

Hope this helps and I see you on Saturday COYB

Jewell: We're Not Tough Enough
at 02:15:26

Blackpool lost 1-2 at home to Morecambe in the first round. Were their supporters shouting for Holloway's head? I think not.

We are all disappointed with the last two results but the game at Watford showed this is not a bad team. With re-inforcements joining this week giving a stronger all round squad in another 3-4 games losing a cup game will soon be forgotten.

Want the best for our team.

The Greatest Number Nines

Ray Crawford ........ memories fade over 50 years but as a boy I thought he was fantastic. He was so strong and battered the defence for every ball.

Thanks for the memories. I saw my first game that year - the 4-1 beating of Man Utd, watching from the North Stand. I still have the rosette my father bought me as a 'treat'. From that moment always a Blues supporter. I went to five more games that season including the final game v Aston Villa. I couldn't climb up the wall from the terrace at the final whistle so was helped buy two 'Big' guys who lifted me up so we could dance on the pitch. You are right about children sitting on the grass. I had a close up view of the match v Wolves from such a vantage point. Champions!

How We Won the Cup - Paul Mariner
at 04:05:10

Well ITFC1985 had you been there as I was you would gladly celebrate it and remember. It was an amazing day. The sun was shining. Our crowd were there to support to the full. Kevin Beattie taking a large flag from a fan running on to the pitch with it as the team made the customary the pitch in their "Wembley suits". PM was fantastic that day . Yes the strike against the woodwork was a 'not our day' feeling. David Geddes provided the width / wing play me so want for our team now. My most defining memory is a banner that was so prominent at the Ipswich end.

WHYMARK MARINER WHEN WOODS WILL WARK IT IN. Think about it guys.

32 years ago .... I remember it as if it was yesterday and will never forget.
