Ipswich Town U18s 7-0 Coventry City U18s - Highlights
at 11:34:12

Some excellent goals scored by our young blues. A shame that the quality of the video footage is not up to the same standard.

Collins Massively Surprised By Town's Position

Striker becomes defender - reminds me of Richard Naylor. This lad was awesome against Rotherham and I hope he produces several more key performances between now and the end of the season.

Town Linked With Move For Free Agent Dawkins
at 12:20:02

Found this highlights video on YouTube - some decent movement and good finishing, but the video was posted in 2016, and I would be concerned that he couldn't make the immediate impact that we need at the moment. Since he is being touted as a left sided midfielder this would also require a change of system/personnel by PL as Freddie Sears has been occupying that area of the pitch, and to good effect. I'm not against the idea of taking a look at him, but think it could be a bit of a gamble.

No More Signings Before Window Closes
at 22:51:34

Despite his millions, ME just doesn't want to invest to the extent we fans want him too. Money from Mings will have covered some/all of last seasons wages, meaning ME dips less into his own pocket to keep the club 'going'. Whilst MM has proven shrewd in the transfer window in the past I would like to see how he would get on with some serious dough. ME seems to have been scarred by the spending of RK, and is now reluctant to realise that with Premier League money filtering into the Championship the cost of the modern footballer is only going to increase. I'm keen to see how the squad copes between now and Jan, but once again, I am left disappointed on transfer deadline day.

McCarthy: Taylor Can Leave
at 00:00:38

I think most are disappointed because each time Town spend a significant sum of money on a player (Taylor, Priskin, Parkin) it never seems to work out. As for the "Tabb is a favourite" comments - I'm not sure where that comes from because he is nowhere near our 1st eleven. What makes it more frustrating is that after shedding out a load of money for a player, we end up loaning him out or cancelling a contract by mutual consent. I trust MM's judgement on a player; it has only improved us so far.

Town Confirm Murphy Deal
at 20:15:00

A versatile and strong addition to the squad, and a player who wants to be at the club - his wages now will be much less than the reported 25k a week he was said to be picking up at Celtic.

Perhaps we could agree with Chopra that he needn't pay back the money he owes the club if he walks away from his contract now - he certainly does not justify his weekly wage on the performances of the last season or so.

Also, Taylor is being considered by most as a striker, but didn't Jewell use him as an attacking RM? I agree it will be like having a new signing but do we know his best position yet?

Town Linked With McCarthy Talks
at 21:56:47

This would be absolutely the right choice for Town. We don't need someone to win personality contests or be best mates with half the league. We need an experienced manager who can assemble a solid team and get our team up the league. As for comments earlier regarding 'boring' football played by his teams I can recall Town being completely outclassed on more than one occasion by a Wolves team built and maintained by MMcC, and that for me is more important than fancy footie.

Hyam Signs New Contract
at 19:15:31

As the manager has previously pointed out; young players should demonstrate that they are worthy of longer contracts on better money rater than just have them handed out on a plate. Hyam has shown a real willingness and had been justly rewarded. However, a 2 year deal means that there is further incentive to go on and better himself and, if greater progress is shown, then I am sure an extension will be discussed long before the 2014 expiry.

Evans Still Backing Jewell Despite Cardiff Defeat
at 15:39:58

How quickly the Town fans turn on the team, and blame PJ for individual mistakes made on the pitch. We played very well in the first half, stringing passes together, and certainly appearing to have more than the 60% possession that the stats showed at the interval. JET and Carlos Edwards linked up well down the right, and Richie Wellens is a tenacious midfielder, adding bite and breaking up opposition play with ease and comfort. DJ Campbell harried and chased up top and will be fitter for it. How the crowd cheered as we outplayed Cardiff and finally got the goal our play deserved...

As expected, Cardiff came at us from the beginning of the second half and Town had to withstand heavy pressure, seeming to sit deeper and invite the bluebirds on. The defence looked fairly comfortable, with Higginbotham very vocal in his organising; something that we have lacked for a long time. JET had a glorious chance to make it 2-0, and only he will know why he went for power when placement would have done - more applause followed.

Then Loach made two basic errors costing us the game. After Cardiff scored their first there was nervousness in the stands as we feared Town might concede a second, and perhaps that transmitted to the players on the pitch. The players may not have the self-belief at the moment, and the fans have even less confidence in that situation.

At the end of the game there was a chorus of boos....why? For 55 minutes we were the better team, we simply didn't score sufficient goals to make it comfortable for ourselves. Our 18 man squad will hear the boos; were they directed at them? Probably not, but they will feel it more than PJ.

I have never been one to call for a managers' head, and will not start now. Whoever is in charge of ITFC will have my support, but more importantly the team will always have my support, win, lose or draw, as long as they are trying to win football matches. They were clearly trying to do that on Saturday.

Rather than spending time wishing the sack upon PJ and dreaming of who his replacement might be; would it be too much to ask that so called Town 'fans' get behind their team for 90 minutes?

Two Changes at Brighton

Playing away from home may help to take some pressure off JET. If we can come away from the Amex with a point then perhaps we can gather some momentum to take into the Cardiff game. COYB!

Friend Opts for Town
at 02:20:51

Despite the speculation regarding Cresswell I think this would be a good signing. I honestly believe that PJ would be bringing Friend to the club as a CB. There is alot of talk about Chambers and Delaney, or Chambers and Friend, but lets not forget that Tommy Smith is more than capable of playing a solid role in defence. I fancy that should Friend join the mighty Town we may see Delaney move on. He (DD) can definitely still do a decent job at CB but as others have pointed out, with a year left on his contract and at 31, PJ may prefer to cash in. As for Cresswell moving on; that would be a massive backward step by the club, and by pricing him at 6M the club are doing their best to price him out of a move.

Blackburn Boss Confirms Bullard Interest
at 21:39:22

@bluey1668, Jewell can only pick what is available to him and then hope they deliver. We are all too aware of which positions need strengthening and which players do not seem up to the task. Too suggest that PJ's effort is not good enough, or that all is lost for 2011-12 after 4 league matches is ridiculous

I for one think that JB would bring some much needed creativity to our midfield. If a deal can be done then get it done. But don't think that Towns' attempts to bring JB to PR are an effort to hide away from the glaringly obvious. We need 2 centre halves, a RB, a natural and disciplined left winger and a striker.

Nobody ever won the league in August. In PJ we trust.
