Are we blaming this one on Hurst?
at 17:13 1 Jan 2019

Was Waghorn unhappy? We may never know, but there were thoughts that PH and Doig were ambivalent to him staying, how true that is god knows.

Mick Mills on the Spence mistake

Its not the first time, there are three goals in a week where he is to blame in one way or another. There is a reason MK Dons did not want him.

Spence watch
at 17:04 1 Jan 2019

All the defensive unit have made errors aplenty, but Spence the most obvious, last week he did not even need to get caught up with Hugill, the second goal he was out of position and just jogged back. Today, out of position, then no effort to keep the ball in play, he must have been sure it was a goal kick (although it was not), or he could just not be arsed.

Absolutely agree that lack of insight by OP..... A man who cares about our club, who supports it and simply speaks about the way it is.

Norwich are much better than us. They had less money and enhanced their squad. They will challenge for promotion, even though some fans there still want Farke sacked!!!!!

We are in a different place so the competition is not with them or Milwall. We simply need to start winning games and gaining points, everything that has happened as far as we are concerned since PL came is positive except for the inability to hold on to leads, but that will come. Hopefully before we get to the transfer window.

I do wonder if defensive cover is needed now from the Free agent market.

We are going down
at 17:08 10 Nov 2018

The Legacy of the Hurst reign was the wilful destruction of the playing squad, their mentality and yes, it looks bleak. But all you need is a winning run and the world changes, my concern however is that PL has little to work with until January and by them it could be too late.

Soft underbelly, but massive improvement
at 17:06 10 Nov 2018

Not been there today due to being at work (where I am now) but seems we have performed excellently in comparison the old regime. So things definitely on the up. The downside remains we struggle to hold onto a lead and I suspect much like the fans, the players are not surprised when we concede late on, no doubt PL will work on this. The positives of today will no doubt be blighted by the late equaliser and the fact everyone else around us seemed to do well.

The gap remains, its not a chasm but it is concerning, but in PL we seem to have the formula to recover. What he and we need are probably additions to the playing staff to give a further lift. Onwards and upwards.

Soft underbelly - we simply always struggle to hold out in recent years.

We don't score many which makes things tricky. PL knows he needs to strengthen in both positions however, so we have to make do until January.

At work so having to rely on BBC website.....sounds like one hell of a goal from nothing though. We have to go again.

Right ok then all you

Jesus, wish I had not looked at this thread. Some simply defeatist views here, and statements which are factual but overlook the fact that PL has been left with an inadequate squad with no striking options other than what we did today. He cannot strengthen until January so I agree its critical we start picking up some points.

Free agents may help but there are not that many around who would make a difference.

Edun the one player, young as he is, that can get it on the floor and pick a pass. I know Andre can do that too so it depends if you are in the "manage Andre carefully" camp or the one that says "he has to play to save PH/CD bacon".

he’s on the bench today,...
at 14:12 6 Oct 2018

Knudsen has played his worst football in years this season. Either it is a failure to see eye to eye with the current management duo, or more likely his propensity to give away cheap free kicks, poor positional play and very lacklustre forward forays is not known.

Team for Swansea...

I personally would get Bart back in, not least to send a message of intent. DG has done little wrong, but has not had a huge amount to do either.

As for the Knudsen statement - he may not have been at fault the other night but he has a habit of conceding needless free kicks, his distribution is getting worse and if he is playing as a left back he is invariably out of position.

Before Hurst was appointed
at 13:00 4 Oct 2018

The key driver for me was someone forward thinking who would give youth a chance and make some good recruitment along with football that gave some attacking flair unlike MM. So Jack Ross did fit the bill and Hurst was on the list of people who I thought would equally do so, so I was not disappointed. Much as I was actually pleased to see both Jewell and McCarthy at their respective appointments. But it is the actual delivery that shapes what we feel about those managers. The only one which filled me with dread was Roy Keane - which was clearly a chance for Marcus to get his name on Sky Sports 24/7.

I have to say that if this goes as wrong as I suspect it will, then our worries about our manager will pale into massive insignificance.

Bart - Malcolm Webster
at 15:37 2 Oct 2018

All entitled to opinon.......so will give mine which is contrary to yours. The worst side of Gerken is his inability to command his area and very poor communication with his defenders. Who can ever forget the dithering with Cole Skuse that was seized upon a few seasons back, he can be slow off his line (although he was much better this season). Both keepers have faults, both have positives too but in my opinion Bart is significantly better.
