I'm not sure people understand how transfers/options/obligations work. Irrespective of all the obligations between clubs based on previous transfers etc, none of these oblige a player to sign for anyone, it's his freedom of labour. They simply allow a club an opportunity, to match, outbid, provide first preference or whatever. The player ultimately has the final choice where to go. He went to Villa, his call and I'm sure he's well paid, and was maybe promised game time. If he wants to come here great, and I'll back him 100%, but don't don't be hoodwinked into thinking he was desperate to pull a blue shirt, if he was he'd have come here. |

He obviously didn’t want to come. No one forced him to sign for Villa, they simply had the opportunity to and he took it. No thanks |

This isn't Football Manager where you can close the game and start again until you get the result you want.
The reality is we can't make players join us, and then we can't make clubs sell to us even if the player wants to join, we don't have all the money in the world, financial rules apply and yes KM might actually want players that play slightly differently from his norm, or do we want a one dimensional coach?
People want an out of the blue European signing, well we may be getting one. Stop whining about it.

Good game today, fair result. Omari is getting better, calm and considered compared to when I last saw him at Sunderland. Got drenched on the way back to the car whilst chatting to a Terriers fan; another club with financial problems.Glad we've moved on from that.
