Anyone know why this is on Sunday 28th at 3pm? Is it a Sky game?

What happened to HarryfromBath?
at 21:01 7 Mar 2021

I’m a relatively new listener to the Blue Monday Podcast and was having a look through the old pods. Didn’t realise HarryfromBath used to be involved with the podcast. Realised how much I miss his excellent posts and in-depth pre-match previews. What ever happened to Harry? Hope he is ok.

An “Inverse Allardyce”

That’s how Lambert was described by Jim White on the excellent Blue Monday Podcast this week.
I’m not sure you can get a more cutting description to be honest!

New manager...
at 17:42 10 Feb 2021

Evans is clearly waiting until only 1 out of the Cowleys, Cook and Pearson are still available before he makes his move. He can’t decide which is the best candidate so this is the best way to choose.

Aside from a new manager, owner etc...

I watched this clip where Peter Crouch talked about playing with Steven Gerrard:

Where he basically talks about standards at the club, how players like Gerrard demanded more from the players around them. It reminded me of the interviews on Blue Monday with Jim Magilton where he talked about when he joined Ipswich and drove the intensity of the training up, and brought everyone up a level, eventually culminating with his man of the match performance against Bolton in the 5-3 and our promotion.

We haven’t had anyone like this for a while. Someone who is respected by the other players, demands more from them and leads by example on the pitch. Increasing the expectation on a daily basis and getting them all through tough games, grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck etc. The players are just too comfortable. Who did we last have that was like this? I guess depressingly we are unlikely to find anyone that fits this profile in league one. Downes perhaps could be if he stays, from what I’ve seen on and off the pitch, but sounds like he will be off if we don’t go up.

How hopeful are we that Evans makes the right decision with the next manager?
at 16:52 28 Jan 2021

I guess you could argue that he has a 20% success rate at present (Mick).

Let’s hope that this blind squirrel eventually discovers a nut...

Thomas is basically a young Bobby Petta, and Harrop a young Martijn Reuser. Entertainment and promotion here we come....

....urton

I’ve never wanted us to lose in the past. But today I do.
Thoroughly fed up with it all, hoping for a loss, and then it’s another game closer to Evans pulling the trigger.
Hopefully that will be after we lose to Peterborough on Sat as of course it won’t be before then.
Then we can get Crowley in and look forward to 2021 with anticipation.

Just saw him chatting on SSN. Released by Leicester in the summer, without a club still. Decent Box to box midfielder for the last decade and still only 32. Would Do a job for us.

It’s at times like this...

....When you realise what a remarkable job Mick did with very little financial backing.

I know it’s been done to death and I’m no Mick sympathiser but compared to the investment that others seem to have had under Evans he worked magic to make us competitive in the championship for so long. He probably spent less and almost certainly brought in more money through player sales than anyone else in Evans’ reign.

Similar to Joe Royle who did a sterling job to make us competitive at the top of the Championship with no budget.

A decent manager who can get the best out of the players at his disposal Is what we are crying out for but Evans has a poor track record of finding them..
