| News Comment | New Kits Unveiled Saturday at 16:35:11
Anyone who didn't expect this type of thing is either stupid or naive. Would they prefer the club still to be in League 1? Sorry but get real! |
| News Comment | Downes: Fans Don't Know the Full Story of Town Exit at 18:40:56
“Fans are fans” says Flynn. Stating the obvious. Equally obvious players are players. And of course one pays the wages of the other and so a negative feeling towards someone who is perceived as not wanting to play for those paying his wages is entirely understandable. Add to that the usual winding up of Sammy Morsy by the opposition, principally, on Monday, by Flynn Downes, and there are strong grounds for “boos”. Personally I wasn’t particularly worried by his leaving as we’ve financed quite a few purchases with the money, but his attempts to get Sammy sent off were pathetic. I didn’t boo him but fully understand anyone who did. Of course, if he came back, I’d welcome him with open arms because I support anyone who plays for my club and because fans are fans. |
| News Comment | Edwards Leaves Town By Mutual Consent at 16:23:27
A sad, though completely understandable decision. Was one of my favourite players though I wasn't blind to his inconsistency or lack of end product. I suspect we'd have kept him this season if he had been prepared to be an impact sub when required but no-one would want a career on that basis. Speedy recovery and all the best Kyle, I'll always be grateful for the 2 goals you scored in our first ever home league win against Cambridge, my local team. They enabled me to go out! |
| News Comment | Delia and Husband Issue Statement on Car Incident at 23:13:38
I’m sure even Scummers are embarrassed by these absurd comments. What on earth have Ipswich officially got to apologise for? You chose to have your car trail a triumphant team coach, surrounded by jubilant fans, when alternatives had been offered. What on earth did you expect? One beer can. Hardly a murder weapon and if you’d followed your own team coach, none of this would’ve happened. Why on earth should Ipswich apologise? No wonder your own fans want rid of you. Most of them aren’t very bright but at least they can see you should be retiring into a nursing home for outmoded cooks. You should apologise to Ipswich for your naïveté. |
| News Comment | Tomasson: No Problem With Travis at 16:19:42
Let’s not get riled by Blueboy. He’s entitled to post even if there is a strong whiff of the Wensum about what he says. Ignore him and concentrate on the positive - after all there’s a hell of a lot of that about at the moment. Personally I’m sure Travis will be a good signing. |
| News Comment | Leigh Completes Oxford Switch at 18:32:37
I agree with all the positive comments about Greg Leigh and also understand the reasons why we have allowed him to leave. I, too, wish him all the very best. I am also aware that players trot out much the same comments when they sign for a new club. But Greg, really? “Oxford are always looking to get on the front foot” - must be code for “Oxford, always looking to waste time”. |

There will be loads of song options to the time of Bolare, perhaps: Omari, oh, oh, oh Omari, oh, oh, oh He’s come from West London He’s gonna smash the scum, Omari, oh, oh, oh, Omari, ok, oh, oh |
| News Comment | Ferguson: Nowhere Near Good Enough at 21:28:58
To paraphrase Ferguson: “We were beaten by a much better team from a much bigger club with a miles better manager.” Enough said. |

Great blog Dan - written, as always with thought, clarity and well evidenced points. Your last point about player “buy ins†is, in my opinion, well evidenced by the improvement that I have seen in the play of Cameron Burgess. Always effective in the air and strong in the tackle, he used to have a clumsy side and could be beaten for pace. Now his positional sense seems to make up for his lack of pace and his ability to play from the back has improved enormously (I hope I haven’t tempted fate for his performance today with this assessment!). He has been one of our most consistent players during the recent run. Thanks again for your entertaining read. |
| News Comment | Morsy: This is a Proper Community Club at 11:37:11
Does make you proud of the way the club has developed - well done to all involved, players and all club employees and volunteers. |

I think this idea is worth trying and can't see why it shouldn't be - if season ticket holders in Block A can be catered for. Lincoln's singing fans are similarly situated and make a decent noise. As for the singers caring less, I'm 65 years old and have supported Ipswich since I was 7. I still love to sing and shout and also hope that this is doing my bit to create atmosphere. Any inference that I care less because I do so is frankly absurd. |

Great service thanks. Especially like your match reports which rationalise my very pro ITTC assessments quite regularly! |
| News Comment | McKenna: The Fine Margins Haven't Always Gone Our Way at 19:05:59
I do hope Kieran is right about luck/ref decisions balancing out. Older fans, like me, will recall ref Roy Capey awarding. Chelsea a goal in the early 70s, that hit the side netting only. And of course there was Clive Thomas preventing us getting to the Cup Final in 1975 disgracefully wrongly disallowing two Ipswich goals. But I'm not bitter😡😡 |
| News Comment | Burns: If I Could Bottle That Feeling I’d Be a Millionaire at 12:52:35
To continue the Jackson debate - the emphasis on pace is very significant. It scares defenders and pleases fans. I think we all acknowledge Kayden is not the best finisher and doubt he claims to be. On that basis, I really don't think he should have taken the penalty even in the absence of Chaplin and Burns. I saw Kayden miss a pen at Fleetwood a few years ago and can't recall him scoring one. McKenna is so thorough, I can't believe he couldn't instruct who he wanted to take it. For what it's worth with the first 2 choices unavailable, I'd have gone for Burns, not least because he'd have been confident after scoring. Anyway, I'm definitely pro Jackson because of his pace and the Donacienesque way that he has played his way back from the brink at PR. I would also add that, to his credit, he must have played in more different positions this season than anyone else in the team, and possibly anyone else in the division. Keep going Kayden. |
| News Comment | Blues Legend Stewart Diagnosed With MND at 17:11:26
Just hate this disease which seems to be affecting more and more ex rugby and soccer players (and also a dear friend of mine). Marcus will always be remembered as a hero by Town fans of his era. Without great height or strength he was just a sublime striker who could and did score goals from all sorts of areas. I wish him strength when facing his illness and bravery to his family who face a horrible ordeal. He is part of the fabric of Itfc history and we thank him for giving us so many good times. |
