I can't wait to watch the wedding tomorrow
at 13:40 18 May 2018

Coverage starts here at 4am and my American 'other half' has taken a day off so she can tune in! So it'll be a very early morning toast in this household.

Bowls
at 11:50 12 May 2018

I realize you've specifically asked about Bowls and if you find out that's not for you consider joining in a free '5k parkrun event' normally held on Saturday mornings. All levels from walkers, slow joggers to the runners. Always looking for volunteers to man the course as well...good luck.

Been thinking about the 'Ted" name and now i'm swaying towards the 'old boy' Sam name as the counter guy way back when.

There was an old boy, Ted that was the head guy behind the counter around 69/70. along with Colin and Eddie (who had broke/damaged his back and couldn't bend down but still a half decent player). Anyone recall the fight that broke out one midweek summer evening in 1970 between two youths. Ted and staff came over and 'ushered' them and the group outside where one pulled out a knife and the other, it was alleged at the murder trial apparently 'ran' onto the blade as he was swinging a punch. He was cleared of all charges, both were friends of mine.

Advice from anyone going to Orlando wanted
at 19:07 10 May 2018

Just down the 'road' (US 27) from me. Decent Resort but in my opinion there's newer and better in the area. Check out the newly opened Grove Resort & Spa just a couple of miles from Bahama Bay and started by the same British owner/financers who then 'disappeared' during the recession in 07/08 upsetting aload of investors. Bought out and construction finished and recently opened.

" just chill and enjoy the yankee doddle dandy lifestyle." Thats what i've been doing for the last 15 years! I live a few miles west of Disney in what is known as the vacation villa hub. If you are not interested in the 'parks' then you might be better off looking somewhere on the Gulf Coast like Sarasota area or Clearwater beach. If you google a British forums with all things connected to Florida.... thedibb plenty of villas to rent. advice etc. If you want any advice from me just pm and i'll try to help out.

Great memories harlingtonblue and as i wrote in my earlier posting i also made 3 of the 4 more 'famous' past games. I've been thinking to what would be my first stand out memory, i managed at least one game during the 62 title winning season but to young to have any vivid recollections. a young regular from the mid 60s so as a 13 year old being at Portman Road when we clinched the old 2nd division title against Blackburn Rovers (67) to return to the top flight. the pitch invasion to Cliff Richards 'congratulations' booming out is my first real standout highlight!

With a new era dawning is it time to drop the Tractor Boys tag once and for all?
at 22:52 4 May 2018

I'm with you, cringeworthy, tag/nickname and by all accounts it was started by other fans. Even my 'other half' who works in the Disney Dining serving industry and has never been to Ipswich/Uk, has it said to her when she mentions to 'British/European patrons that i'm a Town fan the normal response is 'oh, a tractor boy, and she now believes we're all straw chewing bumpkins riding tractors!!!

Yes please dump it!! but as you say almost all the press reporters refer to Town as 'The Tractor Boys' Absolutely irritates me beyond believe, 15 years living in Florida and as soon as ITFC comes up in conversation be it with guys living here or tourists i'm refered to as a tractor boy! At least can we all agree to 'phase out' our chants of 'one nil to the tractor boys' etc, just don't recall hearing it before i left blighty.

And i went on the Woodbridge coach with an older relative in 1967 for the 5th Rd FA Cup at Maine Rd Manchester When as a Second Division team we were unlucky not to beat City who were one of the best teams around at the time. 1-1 and i think we hit the bar late on then lost the replay 0-3 the next week!

Not there in 62 although i went to a night game that season. All the others except 05 youth cup as i'd moved here. All four Cup games against the mighty Leeds Utd in 75...I wonder how many other Town fans were there for all 4?

was it the 85 'uprising' as i was working up in the city on the first Mc Donalds Lord street at the time and actually went over to Toxteth in a cab on, i think a Monday night during the outbreak of the troubles. Fond memories and a soft spot for Liverpool, so pleased they won tonight!

Apparently that's from 5 years ago as it mentions Roy Hogson as England boss! Good article though and i guess he could be a decent coach in the EFL.
