Does anybody know where and when this photograph was taken?
at 22:12 30 Jan 2024

As I mentioned in my post, that my memory of Feyenoord 75 was a brutal night rain wise , and back then i'm thinking most of the stadium was without cover. So, could. that photo be from the next leg game in Brugge?.

I went to the Feyenoord away leg. I remember the vast majority of Town fans were in a section close to the halfway line. I actually stood with a small group, in the end to the right of that group. Also, , didn't the heavens open for most or all of the game?

Congrats to Fortuna Dusseldorf

Just watched their late comeback win on ESPN+ away from home in the German cup competition. I had 3 months back in the late 70s, working close to the city and since then always had a soft spot for the team, plus knowing they have fans travelling across to PR each season.

Attendances

Wasn't there something like 8-10 thousand Leeds fans for that 38,000 attendance? I was there and wouldn't be surprised if there was more than 40k inside Portman Road that day!

All the best Fabio (n/t)

Agree with you about the atmosphere in Vegas on fight night. I flew there from Blighty to meet up with my American born father who drove there from his home state. I'd managed to purchase 2 tickets from a London agency for the Lennox Lewis Evander Hollyfield rematch. I had no idea they would be amongst the 6,000 plus army of Lewis fans who drunk the beer sellers dry as soon as they arrived out with their drink trays. My fathers comment ... 'boy, you English guys can sure drink'!
Well done Fabio, I watched it live at a more reasonable time.

Sycamore Gap felled
at 16:28 29 Sep 2023

Something similar happened here in Florida with an 'iconic' tree around 10 years ago. It was the largest and oldest (maybe in the world?) bald cypress tree in Florida named 'the senator'. Estimated to be thousands of years old and around 150ft tall, a couple decided to smoke drugs inside the hollowed out bottom and it caught fire and burnt to a stump. They were caught and jailed for a couple of years or so!

Whats the most youve paid for a pint locally?
at 13:53 18 Sep 2023

Genuine question as i haven't been to the UK for 20 years.... is tipping just for a beer poured sitting at the bar expected? Now being a senior citizen (pensioner) i tend not to drink in bars so much but yesterday wanted to catch some NFL games. $4 for the cheapest pint (less pour than UK) and after 2 beers plus 7% tax and expected dollar a drink gratuity cost me $11 as I didn't pick up the coins after paying cash!

I was there for that one as well. if memory serves me right, there was another couple of Town players in the line up. My next England game was when Mariner came on as a sub for his debut.

IPSWICH V SUNDERLAND (USA)

Already been answered a couple of times this week for Town fans this side of the pond. It's being shown on the ESPN+ streaming channel, not regular ESPN. Problem is, if you're lucky enough to find a bar that streams the game, it clashes with the Charity Shield which is also on ESP+!

Is Sunday’s game on Fox sports?

Yes, I have it here at home, ESPN+ which costs me $9 99 a month (used to be $5 99 couple of years ago!). a firestick probably gives you more options. Problem for Town fans out here and wishing to find a bar to watch is the game clashes with the Charity Shield.

Sky tv live games are normally on ESPN+ this side of the pond, not Fox sports. I think you'll find Star+ in that part of the world streams games.

Any USA Based Blues Here?

I've sent you a few suggestions where you might be able to watch Towns game, but with the Charity Shield also being shown on ESPN+ around the same time I think you'll struggle though. Also remember lots of places will only just be opening at kick off time.

Ok. Kissimmee is about 25 miles south of the city of Orlando so now a much better idea where you 'might' be able to watch on the plus channel. If you're staying west of Kissimmee, close to US 27 Davenport area there's a couple of places which might show but again the Charity Shield will have the most interest. Let me know by message where you'll be and if driving/ubering and I'll attempt to work out the closest.

As someone else stated it's a noon kick off and also clashes with the Charity shield game. There are one or two bars (maybe more) I've found with the possibility of streaming games so message me if you would like the info. Are you actually staying in the city or in the tourist vacation areas such as Kissemmee or Davenport as there's a couple of places that's possibly able to get the game on.

Yes, ESPN+ not regular ESPN tv, which means it will be hard to find any bars or restaurants streaming. Where in the states will you be?

Will anyone on here follow the Saudi League?
at 15:58 24 Jul 2023

When i worked out there in the early 80s I went to one game in Jeddah to see the great Brazilian Rivelino, who had just signed for one of the teams. if my memory is correct, he scored a cracking free kick but cannot remember if it was for the home or away team!
Certainly a very strange atmosphere with nearly all the crowd dressed in their white robes and headwear adding to it. Glad I went though.

Second club?

This made me think back 55 plus years ago (66/67) when a group of school mates formed a Subbuteo league. We were all PR regulars and a few away trips during our title winning season, yet not one of us chose Town as 'our' team. I can still vividly remember who had what teams and I chose Chelsea. All living close to the town centre we took it in turns to host the games ..... happy times!
