TWTD Yankees
at 17:38 16 Aug 2018

15 years of living in the Orlando area and this is the one sport I've, for whatever reason no interest/wish to ever attend.
Enjoyed many, the seasonal one game visit to see the NFL Tampa Buccs. Orlando Lions soccer MLS games. The odd ladies Pride soccer game, pre-season MLB spring training baseball games. I've been inside the Magic's Amway arena for my only indoor arena football and watched from middle level with an enjoyable view plus the odd concert. Any thoughts on seeing the 'Lions' during your stay? Any help needed feel free to ask.

Good piece about tribalism in football from F365 here
at 21:49 13 Aug 2018

Interesting, then I guess I'm part of a tribe. Always trying to keep the colours of our country cousins from touching in anything purchased and would rather not mention them by name but don't like the word scum! I'm apparently getting worse with age and I don't even live local.

Needham Market close to ending association with Town and linking up with Norwich
at 20:05 7 Aug 2018

If all's true the club should be ashamed of themselves. I really don't know much how local clubs operate but to link up with your countys biggest rivals stinks in my opinion. Its not like they're a club on the borders of Norfolk, almost on the outskirts of Ipswich!

should be a ban on people sitting in the north stand
at 17:26 5 Aug 2018

Excellent summing up in my opinion. Haven't been to Portman Rd in the past 15 years and probably never again after going there for over 40 years. Lucky to see yesterdays game live on ESPN and the other 4 EPL games and honestly ours came across as the most flattest/quietest stadium of the lot. Leeds game on at present and the atmosphere has been electric. Oh, and my local team Orlando City, new Irish coach yesterday heaped praise on the fans for cheering them on from being 0-2 down to a draw and that's after a run of about one win in last ten games!

Atmosphere
at 23:41 4 Aug 2018

Yes I know i wasn't there in person, but out of the 4 EFL games I've watched on ESPN+ our game came through as the flatest/lack of atmosphere on TV. I'm a guy now in my 60s and an ex-north stander from the Robson generation but boy the stadium needs to do better to lift the team in my opinion.

Live on ESPN+
at 21:53 3 Aug 2018

Introduced as an extra pay view ESPN channel towards the end of last season. Costs me an extra $5 per month and I've had my fingers crossed it would still be showing EFL games for this season. Opener now showing and the early Sunderland game in the morning before the visit to Portman Rd. Hope its $5 well spent, guess I enjoy this more or as much as the Premier League.....COYB.
And its part of the Disney empire along with, i think, Sky sports.

Probably all scared away by the 'abuse' Mick endured at the end of last season!

RIP Seasider Blue

I'm with you all in wishing my condolences are passed over to Seasiders family. Remember the name on this fan forums as a 'positive' thinking True Blue poster. Just thinking, out of interest does anyone know which seaside he was from>

Enjoyed what I managed to see of the game to day.
at 17:25 28 Jul 2018

Agree with that..although I don't have any tickets booked but from what I can make out the Blackburn game will be live on ESPN+ which I've subscribed to! Watched it on the Evening Star stream and enjoyed it although without any commentary. Thought the new striker looked lively but we did look a 'little' vulnerable from set piece crosses/corners in my opinion.
And what a great turn out, 15,000 when i've read the local derby clash last night between Middlesbro and Sunderland had half that!

A brilliant read for all Town fans
at 14:04 24 Jul 2018

Excellent, thanks for posting this. I went to the Moscow game and have never seen the highlights. Mate i traveled with had a business contact out there who got us great seats just below this camera so celebrated the goals in with the locals! Also managed the Milan game with thousands of other 'Blue army' travelers......Those really were the days!

Oh, didn't realize that, in my day i remember it as noon opening time. Still mid day on a Sunday for me, I think would make the whole day a 'flat' experience, and to be on the road for the away game and a beer by the crack of dawn beggars belief! ....Start that petition i'll sign.

Its a joke that 'our' local derby' nowadays always seems to Kick-Off mid day on a Sunday so anyone that wishes for a social beer or two is out of luck!Yet some of the more 'high risk' derbies of late start at a more social time. Good luck with your complaint.

Rugby 7s here in the USA!
at 19:48 22 Jul 2018

Help, Golf coverage has just finished on NBC channel and now its showing Rugby 7s World Finals being played in San Francisco. I have American relatives living in the Bay area who had no idea this event was taking place (and me!) Couple of e-mails later from them and I'm at a loss to answer what's it all about! Ladies are playing as well, is it getting coverage back in Blighty?
Never played or had much interest in Rugby so really don't know anything about the 7s but its entertaining!

UK wind drought

That's probably the reason why Florida doesn't have many windy days then...apart from the odd hurricane that batters the state! Certainly something I've noticed since being here.

Enjoy the day and hope it gets 'bigger' for you. I had mine way back when in 66 as a 11 year old and still remember so much about it as if it was yesterday, mind you i wasn't old enough for alcohol to cloud my memories!

so why has England's support been so poor this tournament?
at 17:56 6 Jul 2018

I'll 'second that'. Lots of Colombian following fans have travelled over from the Orlando Florida area. My partners work friend has taken the whole month away to support Colombia with his American girlfriend. Last she heard from him on his social media page was that tickets for the England game would have cost him around $1,000! (they got tickets for all their group games) I haven't heard yet if they went to the game.
