Here's just one example of Everton's stupidity. Luke Garbutt. At age 21, it's likely a PL side would part company with a young player of that age who hadn't broke through. However, they decided to give him a 5 year contract of 28k per week. Lower league player who's now at Salford in L2 and who is also a multi-millionaire thanks to Everton. |

If Dele Ali wants to be taken seriously he'd give himself reasonable targets. WC 26?!!!!! If he gets a Championship club and sees his career out in a professional and relatively successful way at a lower level he'd do well. Not in the slightest bit interested if he has a daily 11am reminder of WC26 on his phone. Is he getting up early every day and giving everything with his rehab? That would be more impressive. I know he has a story and I'm not getting into that, but he's been an expensive failure for a few seasons and taken the p1ss out of clubs and fans alike. |

Isn't he more of a forward than a midfielder? Plenty of competition for places behind the striker ( Kane). We're likely to leave a lot of talent behind as we're unlikely to be able to accommodate all those players in the squad. He deserves to go in front of someone like Rashford. |

Must be doing something right, old girl..... we are top of the league. I'm a bit negative at times and get a bit cheesed off when some put too much of a positive spin on things, but I'm still loving it. You sound as if you're absolutely hating this season. Just a bit bizarre. |

I think you're unfair to say we should have gone harder for a win. I think we're naturally an attacking side who always go for the win and are likely to leave ourselves a bit vulnerable at the back..... hence the draws by virtue of maybe leaving ourselves a bit open and leaking some cheap goals. You could make an argument to be more defensive...but then we'd obviously be less of an attacking force. I'm a little disappointed that we didn't win both or one of the last two so that we'd have a bit of breathing space at the top, but if you read around the forum the smart view is that our rivals will keep on dropping points and we just need to win 2 out of 3( with Huddersfield a guaranteed win and both Hull and Coventry nothing to play for). And we only dipped a bit in form because of illness. Hence, we're as good as promoted... |

I think some are just unwilling to hide their disappointment. We're humans and not machines, too. I don't want to disappear down a rabbit-hole where I'm pretending I'm not disappointed. |

Then why are we bothering with this promotion lark? We should have celebrated long ago that we achieved ending up in the top half of this league. Yes, I agree that it isn't a given that we beat Watford and Boro at home, but we're fighting for automatic promotion.... so the bar has been lifted. If we think its OK to draw at home to Watford and Boro, then absolutely fine, but we'd also have to have a reset about what we think is a reasonable finish position in the league....12th... 14th? We can't expect to draw our way to promotion and we know every game isn't easy... but we have to win if we want automatic promotion. And we've beaten plenty of teams at PR and so these two games were looked at as real potential for wins. However, in isolation, yesterday's game was an improvement on the previous two. |

Can't lie, but I feel exactly the same. Just feel we've missed a golden opportunity to put a little bit of distance between us and them. Also, the fact that our L rivals dropped points before we kicked off in our last two home games makes it feel worse as I've mentally added 3 points to our table position ... only to be taken away. Just feels a bit flat. We all know we would bite a hand off for this position before the season started, but it's all about momentum and it feels like we're fizzling out a bit. Wrong and entitled, I know, but I was very much thinking 6 or 4 points from those 2 home games. |

Jezza was looking really sharp. I think he should have kept on. It's Moore's lack of mobility that affects us somewhat and we do tend to be a bit lazy and hang those crosses in for him. He did fine, though. Decent enough performance.... just lacking that extra bit of quality... and a bit of luck. |

Oh for God's sake. Stop the pretence. Massive difference between between realism and fake positivity. The OP was mentioning that fans would arrive expectant and to guard against over-confidence. However, I don't think fans will - I think there'll be nerves aplenty. By all means, go all out and back the team as best as one can, but i don't expect anyone to be over- confident and untouched by the last two games. Fake positivity will only get you so far. You're already blaming others instead of having genuine faith in the team. Thats how 'positive' you are.. Its going to be nervy - why kid yourself? |

Ha ha... 'Aside from the poor grammar, that's a pretty awful take. It was a poor performance by our high standards but still only a narrow 1-0 defest.' If you're looking for missing commas.... I suggest you put one before your 'but'.... for emphasis. And if you're going down Grammar Taliban Alley - how about spelling 'defeat' ( a six letter word) correctly. Surely, by your high standards spelling a six letter word is easier than leaving out a comma or using a 'a' instead of an 'an' ( my bad). Smug pr1ck. |

Why would anyone arrive at the ground expectedly? We've just come of a embarrassingly crushing loss to our local rivals and failed to capitalise on a golden chance a few days later. I would expect a lot of nerves rather than swagger. After that last performance, I have no idea what to expect. I think we need a bit of good fortune along with the rest as we're looking a bit jaded and our gold dust seems to be slipping away. Can't see our rivals keep on slipping up and we either have to seize our chance now or kiss goodbye to promotion. Don't rate our chances in the POs, so it's now or never. |

Bouncebackability even has a place in the dictionary. bouncebackability nounINFORMAL (especially in sport) the capacity to recover quickly from a setback. "promotion-chasing sides need to show the requisite bouncebackability after defeat" Apparently invented by Ian Dowie whose career has nosedived and shown no signs of bouncebackability |
