List of unacceptable songs...
at 23:13 30 Nov 2023

3 pages and counting. Ive been to a lot of grounds like most, and naturally compare each atmosphere to PR.

I wouldn't say the biggest change we need when we're in an unprecedented spell of unbelievable form is fewer songs.

Early impressions of Town players where you thought 'wow'.
at 14:28 1 Sep 2023

Adam Tanner's debut (I think) v Leicester was decent. Think he got subbed to a standing ovation, which felt more than just debut recognition. He looked impressive that day.

Been watching/reading a lot on psilocybin therapy lately
at 13:37 13 Jun 2023

It's not one of the disorders with which psychedelics have been widely trialled (and is actually an exclusion criteria for some trials and treatments, like ketamine assisted psychotherapy, just because of a potential for an increase in psychotic symptoms). But there's academic speculation it could be helpful under very controlled conditions but I wouldn't be self-medicating if I had that diagnosis).

Yeah the research is really promising (absolutely not a panacea so I'm.hoping people don't make too many wild claims as a backlash will probably come soon). The US are ahead of us on psychedelic therapy, but there are legal ways to access it here and in Europe. I've seen the use of various psychedelic compounds transform people's lives when other treatments have failed.

Yes I sometimes do feel superior to people who hold racist views.

I've noticed that's part of the problem in conversations I have about this. Like 'if only you knew what I know / read what I've read you'd understand and come round to my point of view'.

But that always has a whiff of dominance or arrogance about it I find. Like I'm trying to educate someone. And personally when I sense that from anyone else I'll dig my heels in and probably just become defensive. And they always think the same as me anyway, ie 'if only you knew what I knew you'd think like me'

So I'm just saying this is the template for arguments and discussions like in this thread (sorry to the OP). And it's.not one that I think is going to lead to a better world.

I guess I'd question what counts as 'common decency' that's all.

Equality for all, regardless of race, gender, age, etc: agree

Status quo of polarised debate that says 'I'm right and you're wrong' leading to the destruction of the earth: less so.

No.

Genuine question: when you come across someone with racist views do you feel superior to them?

To be fair you'd know the facts about what that poster has said on here more than me so I accept your view there.

I'm not on here much (partly due to posters like you badger and herbivore, no offence just 'fact').

My point was that your list, I think, was typed in a spirit of dismissiveness: 'Look at what these subjects this bloke has shared his view on before'. (Must have taken a while).
And that kind of judgemental, polarising attitude is kind of what's got us where we are. By that I mean: on the brink of societal collapse, the like of which will make us sighingly nostalgic for a TWTD debate rather than stabbing someone trying to nick the last of our drinking water.

Could you not imagine that given the exact same set of circumstances as Paz, you would have the exact same set of views as him/her? And maybe try to understand them rather than dismiss them? And find some common ground?

What is a 'dubious persuasion' by the way?

All right thinking people agree?

Cheers, I get the context but you've summed it up perfectly.

Your edit is my point.

You've just proved his point you wally

All of the above are open to debate if you try and understand why someone you don't agree with has a different opinion. The BBC isn't supposed to be a representative of 'the right way of thinking'.
