Tragically die in a boating related incident (and I appreciate a black man too) in Italy, which is terrible beyond words, genuinely shocking, and I do mean that, and there is wall to wall press coverage, which I kinda get. Last month, four migrants drowned trying to get across the English Channel in a single incident. And………..not quite the same level of press coverage, was there? Why is that? Guess they are worth less. It troubles me. Really troubles me. Maybe I’m too woke, so await the brickbats. |

First game now just over 10 days away. Liverpool and Citeh doing well in their pre seasons. Starting to feel a bit more real now. Blimey, it's going to be a challenge. I'm suddenly getting "just don't lose 6-0 at home on the first game" thoughts seeping into my tiny brain. How's every one else doing? |

With the likes of Spurs, Man U and Real Madrid pitifully trailing in our wake. I know it's early days, and by the end of the transfer window it will obviously be a completely different picture, but our current spending still seems like it's happening to someone else to me. It still seems completely surreal. What are we on now, nearly £60mill or something? £60mill!! There is a part of me that still finds this all a bit scary and not "Ipswich" at all. I mean, I love it, but it does leave me feeling a bit squiffy and discombobulated. |

I would like to see a player or two with a bit of full on Prem experience. A Ross Barkley type figure (yes, I know he didn’t help them stay up). I would caveat this by stating in KM and MA we trust etc etc. Maybe just that one experienced head in there might make a difference. I have only coached at youth level, so I may well be talking out of my @rse…….. |

We, Ipswich Town, are just about to sign a player for £20mill. £20mill. Bloody hell, that seems a lot of money. Our biggest signing last close season was £1.5mill. Wonder how many seasons up to now it has taken us to cumulatively spend £20mill. These are the days. |

And I will be the first to admit that I have been a Southgate fan in his England role in the past. But having watch Town at close quarters in the past two years, it’s made me realise (no, reinforced) how advanced KM is in his style of football. Southgate is no risk football, KM is all risk. High risk, high rewards. Englands style suddenly feels quite old fashioned. Football now seems high tempo, England aren’t. And it isn’t as though we don’t have the players. |

Cos we can’t get three promotions in a row. Seriously, I’m a 55 year old man, I cried at about 88 minutes yesterday, realising it was going to happen. We’ve been through so much sh1t over the past 20 years, and I’ve had so many messages from friends, family, long lost friends, saying how chuffed they are. People seem genuinely happy that we have gone up. I’ve had messages from Newcastle fans, Chelsea fans, arsenal fans, Tottenham fans, and all of them have been complimentary and wishing us well. I’ve been going to Portman Road since 1975, and I will remember yesterday until I pop off. What a club, what a team of incredible human beings we have had play for us (Kieran, you are up there with Alf, Bobby and George) and all you lot, the fans, you happy, wonderful, friendly, loud, happy, generous, totally unforgettable bunch. I feel so proud of you. Ok, gonna stop, getting dusty again as I type……….. |
