Donacien Expected to Sign Tuesday

Spanish - no need for nasty names. Toxteth - you must be a proper old Suffolk boy to be so pessimistic. Hurst said he wants 2 centre backs. Here is centre back #1.

Jewell Could Move for Ward in the Summer
at 23:00:56

Hanoidave
- very possible that people at Portsmouth are constantly asking Jewell to bid for your players. Sorry if it's not obvious but Pompey need the money.
- the administrator is not the club, he gets paid whatever happens to you.
- your players will go where the hell they like, including Southampton. You are not that special.

That said - good luck and hope Pompey pull through.

Town Target Portsmouth Pair

Sorry Mr Pompey your temporary financial situation has been going on for quite some time and looks like it may go on for a while yet. I doubt we'll be signing your lads but it's not impossible. Money talks.

Certainly some sentiments I can identify with. Ultimately GB will likelier be proved right than wrong but it's too early to call. Can perfectly understand there's no point in persisting with the wrong man but in all honesty I'm not sure we have the wrong or right manager and suspect than what he does in January and next summer could be telling. We will not go down.

Platini Backs Football League Financial Plans
at 20:47:39

Firstly I'm no accountant but it strikes me that this could have implications for the club.

Under the new rules would Marcus Evans be allowed to loan the club money to cover the losses incurred?

Would Evans alternative be to find other ways to inject his cash (eg via additional sponsorship - the Evans Dome?? - but that wouldn't work for his tax purposes I'd have thought?

Surely we'd have to trim the wage bill to fit the requirements with turnover?

Would our clever accountants find a way round this?

I know all clubs will be in the same boat but Ipswich are surely more bankrolled through via debt to their owner than most?

Murphy Hoping to Be In Reserves
at 18:50:33

Sorry, there's no way Murphy is good enough to match our aspirations. Nothing against him but he's too small and his positioning and distribution leave a fair bit to be desired. Good No2 that's all.

Murphy Hoping to Be In Reserves

Largely agree. Think sacking RK before we are safe is risky, given the loyalty shown to him by the players (especially the ex Sunderland contingent)...but it's hard to see this season as anything other than an epic fail, so maybe we could see a new manager in the summer.

Re Curbishley, disagree if you look at his time at Charlton he took a club with no ground and tiny crowds to being an established premiership club. People should respect this as a massive achievement.
