| News Comment | McKenna After Another Big Night Under the Portman Road Lights at 17:48:21
We have some players who are better from the bench and others who are good starters. It works. Let’s just see how many points we get and where we finish. We’re already a huge success this season in my opinion no matter what. COYB |
| News Comment | McKenna: Al-Hamadi Has Earned Our Trust at 22:48:25
It’ll be interesting to see if he wins more free-kicks than Moore. Referees seem very reluctant to award Keifer even the most obvious of fouls. Even if Moore is fit, I think I’d rest him and start with Ali. Moore has played a lot of hard minutes recently but 20 minutes from the bench could be deadly. |
| News Comment | McKenna: One of the Games You Looked For at the Start of the Season at 12:02:33
If we go up automatically, I would love to see Saints go up via the play-offs. Saints are probably the nicer of the three clubs that came down. Our target must now be the league title. Today’s results could make it a mathematical certainty that we finish in the top four and more importantly, above Norwich. 4-3 Town. COYB |
| News Comment | McKenna: Sometimes You Have to Show Your Other Side at 22:07:40
Very poor 2nd half performance but top of the league so I don’t care. A lack of a reserve left back was evident, Davis was obviously unwell. Al-Hamadi is the new Ladapo ie: doesn’t press. |
| News Comment | Town Make £18.17m Loss at 20:53:04
Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the above mentioned accounts are from when we were a league one team. FFP doesn’t apply to L1. In League one it’s the Salary Cost Management Protocol whereby clubs can only spend a percentage of revenue on wages. If we spend 3 years in the championship, we could struggle to conform with FFP and remain competitive. There is nothing fair about FFP as it appears to be designed to keep upstarts like us out of the Prem and force us to sell our best assets. |
| News Comment | Stewart's March of the Day Under Way Today at 14:32:03
Good coverage on BBC news this morning and a great turn out. It was good to see Mick McArthy on the March in support of the lads. There are times to put differences to one side and this is definitely one of them. All sports people and fans coming together for a bigger cause. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Hutchinson Has Made Great Strides at 21:38:55
I think he did a decent shift of defending v Brizzle. Burns did upstage him but it was a different role. If we go up I can see Hutch having another loan stint. |
| News Comment | Hutchinson Wins Player of the Month at 08:27:48
The new Sone Aluko. Exciting young lad, and then to be upstaged by Burns on Tuesday night speaks volumes for our squad and our incredible bench. |
| News Comment | Evans Joins Pompey at 08:32:54
Best wishes to Lee. If he can get himself fit, Pompey have got themselves an excellent midfielder for next season in the Championship and possibly Captain material. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Woolfenden's an Important Player at 20:13:31
He is a solid defender at set pieces and has done brilliantly and grown with the team over the last couple of years. He has his weaknesses but don’t we all. He lacks a bit of pace and he sometimes puts his foot on the ball for too long when a quick transition is on. Burgess does that much better as does Janoi. However. I don’t think our defensive woes are all down to the back two. Quite often we are wide open through the middle of the park and down the flanks. The way we play is thrilling and exciting and frustrating at the same time and long May it continue. COYB |
| News Comment | Premier League Clubs Eyeing Davis at 17:34:24
I think he’ll be playing at whichever club McKenna is managing. If we go up, replacing Davis could cost us £25-30m so that’s the starting price. We need to make sure we have a replacement in place first. |
| News Comment | McKenna: Rotherham Are Competitive Every Week at 20:24:58
I hope our players can be honest about how they are feeling after three games in eight days and that Swansea pitch. Our squad is good enough. There is no need and no excuse for tired performances and it’s great that the lads want to play every minute In KMcK I trust. Players owning up to feeling tired or sore, not so much. |
| News Comment | Millwall 0-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 16:33:51
Monkeymagic. Ive just spotted the typo you’re referring too. I’m a bit slow sometimes. Attendance 15890 (Millwall: 2962) I don’t think there that many Millwall still there at the final whistle. |
| News Comment | Millwall 0-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 14:26:38
Apart from the 3 relegated teams, every team in the championship has sussed out that they have to attack us in the first twenty minutes before they are knackered. They can have a half assed go after the half time break and again in the last few minutes using the subs. It started with Sunderland on day one and it will be the same in the majority of games this season. They can’t match our fitness levels for 90+ minutes. It shouldn’t come as a surprise. We did alright in the first half of the season and we’ll be alright again. When you think that West Brom are probably the best of the rest and were lucky to play us when they did, I think the standard of the Championship is disappointingly poor. |
| News Comment | Millwall 0-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 08:03:13
It was a bit like a training match but why bust a gut if you don’t have to. This group oozes quality. Hutchinson is like a new signing. One observation is how well the new signings have integrated. Moore, Al-Hamadi and Sarmiento look like they’ve always been here. I was particularly impressed with Jarvis when he came on. Compared to his previous performances, he slotted into the Morsy role really well stifling Millwall’s growing threat and taking the ball off Hladky and defenders and moving us forward. This allowed Sam and our attacking players to move up 10-15 yards and force Millwall deeper. And who knew that Davis can actually defend. An excellent performance by Leif in a different way. We don’t always appreciate how much ground he covers. |
| News Comment | Cardiff Match on Sky at 07:21:58
Sky doesn’t care about us supporters. As we didn’t have a midweek fixture, I’m sure KMcK will have changed the training schedule this week to get ready for a 12:30 kick off. One spin off from Sky is the quality of player we get to see in the Championship. Some of our lads would be playing in the prem if the PL clubs couldn’t afford the overpriced alternatives from overseas. |
