Interesting that Cook fist pumped all the Wimbledon players leaving the pitch and ignored all the Ipswich players. Drop the whole 1st team for the next game and play the youth game. |

I'm not a ranter, but cancelled my direct debit after the peterborough game and got an almost apologetic email from the ticket office. When things open up wouldn't be a great signal if the Ipswich ladies games at Felixstowe were packed other than going to Portman Road - my young niece is part of their development system and its brilliantly run from top to bottom. |

If anyone remembers the evening game against Sheffield United back in the day, We were 2-1 down when we had a guy sent off. However, rather than playing 0 up front we maintained our front 2, took off a defender, played in their half, ...and importantly worked 10% harder than Sheffield. We won 3-2, and was one of the most entertaining games i have seen at Portman Road. The atmosphere leaving the ground was immense. Playing 4 -5 - 0 in League One without the above attributes is a disgrace to the heritage of the towen. I've been paying for a season ticket this year w/o stepping in the ground out of belief it was the right thing to do. Forget that going forward, I'd prefer to give the money to Woodbridge Town next year. |

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results” We are not playing 4-3-3 we are playing 1 up front, no control of midfield (even though there's 5 playing in midfield), no midfielders getting past the forward, the ball only going sideways or backwards SLOWLY. 3 - 0 down against a poor team & we take our best player on the day off. The formation is not working but we still do not change a formation which clearly doesn't suit our players. If we are going to play 4-3-3, play 4-3-3. I'm trying to find any positives. |

Being in my 40's i feel Mauricio Taricco, the poodle loving Martlesham living uber-passionate Argentinian, should have just sneaked ahead of his peers & friends - Jim M and Matt H. Lets just hope that in 10 years time, if there was another similar vote, that there would be a challenge to these 12 players; for the current and ongoing health of the club. |

There are many town fans that are also business managers/owners - Each of these roles can have hugely different motivations and goals. I've tried to look at this dilemma rationally taking a partizan owner perspective…. My hypothesis is that when ME purchased the club in 2009 for £12m (that included the pre-packed agreement to write down the £32m debt owed, albeit this debt would still be owed to him by ITFC) he believed he could flip the business in the event of a quick return to the premier league in 2010/11. Then someone would be willing to accept this level of debt to purchase ITFC with premier league income and make a minimum of £24m. A theoretical and tidy 200% return on investment in 1 season (less the early injection of cash for Roy Keane and his signings!). Also it is unclear from the ITFC accounts how much ME pays ITFC for shirt advertising, if at all. This has a market value (looking at market values I doubt ITFC's shirt deal is worth anywhere near £40m per year as per Spurs latest shirt deal). Potentially this could be an income stream not being realised by ITFC under ME ownership. Over and above the initial £12m investment, & 10 years later, I have no doubt ME has injected a significant amount of money into ITFC for it not progress from where he purchased the club. Clearly we are in the 3rd tier. I can't see any scenario that this benefits ME, note: For the people that say ITFC is a tax dodge for ME it is likely that Marcus Evans Worldwide Holding Co (ITFC's ultimate parent undertaking) could gain tax benefit on the loss incurred by Ipswich Town Football Club Company Ltd if it were subject to UK group relief rules (controlling in excess on 75% of the business; tick - ME controls 87.5%). In the UK this loss could be set off against the 19% corporation tax paid by the parent. However, our parent business is registered in the Isle of Man where the corporation tax is 0%. If you don't pay any corporation tax there is no benefit to be had. Mind you ME probably has a very highly paid tax advisor that can send a significant multi-million loss into the sausage machine resulting in tidy return popping out the other end. 2 - 0 on Saturday. COYB. |
| News Comment | Town Name EACH as Shirt Charity at 20:32:27
I'm sure i'm not alone in knowing people that have been in the position to draw upon the support that EACH provide so well very done to all involved at the club; hopefully this visual support of a great local charity will raise their identity even more. A couple of points i think are worth considering.... (1) Perhaps the club could offer empty boxes to families who have children at the hospices, hopefully providing some relief in challenging times for them. There would be no economic loss to the club however the goodwill it is likely to generate with the family is likely to last a lifetime. (2) Perhaps the club should survey fans as i get the feeling that there would be an increase in shirt sales if the charity was advertised prominently on the front, rather than a corporation business that has no real meaning to the fanbase? |

The juxtaposition of the current management's tip of the sword sitting in front of that photo isn't lost on me. Sir Bob would be ashamed of our current once proud team's stagnant position. |
| News Comment | Town Announce 2017/18 Season Ticket Prices at 22:30:26
Considering the truly & unequivocally turgid performances over the last year, together with the general spirit around the ground i'm truly amazed by this pricing proposal. Sadly 3 generations of my family won't be renewing next season w/o change and i can't see that happening; Every other Saturday afternoon at Woodbridge Town it'll be then. |
| News Comment | Skuse a Doubt for Villa Trip But Injury Not Serious at 20:11:04
there's no doubting Cole is a popular player with fans however his game is limited and doesn't bring out the positive attributes of the midfield/attacking players around him. I can remember last season Kevin Foley playing the deeper role in midfield (albeit he was played out of position) in Cole's absence against forest - his ability to win the ball and distribute it up the pitch made the world of difference to the team. Players seemed willing to make runs as they had confidence the ball would get to them; this in turn made space for others. I got the same feeling on Saturday after Cole was replaced, however will it last? |
