Skipper Chambers Linked With Chicago Fire
at 18:38:34

I'd be gutted if he left, but that's my heart speaking. He's a great leader and role model for the club. He's been a fantastic captain, but sadly his performances have dipped in the last season or two. Similar to Tommy Smith, id welcome them both back with open arms in a coaching capacity once they've enjoyed the states.

I think to go forward, we must clear out. Skuse, Chambers, Spence, Knudsen, Gerken. Let's get rid of some big earners in there and reward our youngsters with new contracts.

The rebuild must start now and the sooner we know where the old guard are going to be for next season, the better for us all.

Hurst: I Don't Think the Group as a Whole Bought into What We Were Trying to Do
at 16:08:54

He always spoke a good game, but that never really seemed to lead to positive results. I kind of understand what PH was trying to achieve, but definitely do not understand his ideology around being known as underdogs. That's not a tag you should not willingly apply to yourself and I'm glad ME closed the door on that, given our history and the club we are.

You can already see that PL wants to change and re-build, and i do think PH tried to do that, perhaps not as good as how PL is trying to do it though. Maybe a communication issue with ME from PH - not surprising.

Town Confirm Keane Loan Signing
at 14:22:38

Welcome Will! Exactly the sort of striker we need. A big lad who runs the channels, can hold the ball up and adds physicality. He was massively rated as a youngster, so fingers crossed.

Yes I know what people are thinking and do agree that we do need someone who is prolific, experienced and banging the goals in, but realistically who would that be and more to the point, who would actually want to come in and potentially risk their career going down - unless we throw stupid money at someone, but again, seems pointless as not guaranteed to bring goals anyway.

Knudsen: Summer Interest Was Concrete and Still Waiting for Contract Offer From Town
at 11:48:19

Not fussed if he goes. I don't rate him at all, and I've always said he is a massive contributor to booting the ball long every time. I don't think Jonas has much ability on the ball, if I'm honest. He's also out of position more times than in it.

Plus, if you're going to suggest your open to talking to other clubs in January, doesn't exactly show much fighting spirit to stay and help get us out of this mess......

Leeds United 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 23:00:06

I am lost for words. I've tried to be patient with Hurst, but my patience is wearing extremely thin now.

That was utter rubbish. I can't think of any positives, maybe that Pennington (not even our player) was a stand-out.

No desire, no hunger, no bite, no resilience. Pathetic. We are constantly giving the other teams too much respect and trying to play to the term ‘coupon buster', it's embarrassing. The first 20 mins we did press well, but just seemed to resort to smacking it long. I don't understand why PH thinks this will work.

Gah.... can't even be bothered to type anymore negative comments. So frustrating!

Swansea City 2-3 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 18:47:18

This feels like more than just a win. We needed and deserved this, as fans, as a club!

So chuffed for PH and it's great to see no negative comments tonight. The international break is perfect timing for me. Two weeks to get Dozzer fitter and stronger and let's build upon this now.

Stick with the same team now. You've got your winning formula PH - so roll with it.

Ipswich Town 0-2 Middlesbrough - Match Report
at 23:01:22

Two freebie goals, game over. You don't gift a team that has won something like 27 of the last 29 games going in front with goals like that.

Overall, the performance was poor. In fairness to Hurst, the mistakes made for the goals can't be blamed on him. Yes, his recruitment was weak and yes, we've not won but some of those lads should be putting their hands up -it's time to stand up and be counted.

Personally, I thought Chalobah showed glimpses of promise and started off way to deep. He's clearly not a defender but has quick feet. Dozzer looked class, Sears looked up for it and Jackson will come good.

Worst performances - Graham, Knudsen, Ward, Skuse, Gerken.

Walters: Take Me Home Country Roads!
at 12:22:30

I'm excited by this. I think Harrison could learn a lot from him, as well as others of course.

He won't play every game, but his experience away from home will be brilliant. Stick the ball on his head, and he will score. Top work. Just hope we aren't paying his wages in full!

St Johnstone Confirm Nydam Loan
at 16:25:07

A good loan move. Go smash it, Tristan!

Realistically, Nydam isn't quite ready for regular championship football, so I agree, let him go out and prove himself and reassess in January.

I trust PH.

Winger Graham Rejoins Town on Loan
at 16:08:02

2 pages of people moaning, what a surprise...

So I thought I would post something positive for those who would like to continue with optimism regardless of the results.

Lightening quick, skilful on the ball and sounds right up for it. Nothing to lose by this and all to be gained. I recall he had a spell at Wolves and was massively rated. If he scores against the scum, it's worth it! Anyone who has the desire to put a town shirt on and tear it up, will get a cheer from me.

Derby County 2-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 22:03:32

Massively disappointed tonight. Both Derby and Villa didn't look quite up to where they should be and I feel both games could of been there for the taking.

Overall, Town had small glimpses of some nice football. The game was pretty poor overall, we kept Derby from creating and pushed them back well in the first half, without creating chances of our own.

I cannot stand Knudsen, though. He is so prone to a mistake, never even tries to break the flanks, always boots it forward. Think the left hand side needs addressing. Although Roberts looked sharp.

Positives - Nolan, Nsiala, Donacien, Chalobah all showed signs of promise.

Is it written in the stars that PH's Town career will ignite in a emphatic Norwich win!?....

Hurst Fumes After Cup Defeat
at 07:20:50

PH saying what every fan has been thinking for years!

If you're in a seat, don't get comfortable. You have to earn the right to play in that shirt and some of the players have got way to comfortable under MM.

I completely trust PH to turn this around. It's much better watching the style of play he's trying to bring back to PR.

Hurst: Hard to Take as Performance Should Have Been Good Enough for Win
at 22:50:33

PH gone all through his career as an underdog...

Proved the doubters wrong.

We lost, yes. But plenty of positives. There will be times we steal a win, it's a long long season. Still agree that it's time to stand up and be counted though.

Someone's point about fitness is pivotal for me. Once gelled and fully fit, I think PH builds his team to be relentless. I want us to be written off by the bookies, and I even more so want us to prove every single doubter saying we will get relegated wrong. Come on town, I'm behind you!

Hurst: Jonas Isn’t Going to Come Back and Just Walk into Team
at 07:09:51

There were times when Kenlock was dropped for Knudsen under MM, simply because Knudsen was a favourite. So for me, this is refreshing.

You earn the right to pull on the Town shirt based on your performances, ability and attitude. PH has spoke like this since the moment he walked through the door, so it's not unfair treatment.

I'd like to see Knudsen at CB but still believe we can get someone in that's stronger

Wilder Reveals New Blades Bid for Waghorn
at 11:41:12

Don't get me wrong, I love Waghorn. However, you cannot turn down £8m-10m for him.

In my honest opinion, we made a mistake two years ago not selling Didsy to Leicester for 7m or whatever was quoted.

Waghorn is probably our best player at the moment, and we do need more quality in other areas. So if he does go, I do question where the goals will come from?

Hurst "Surprised By One or Two Things" That Are "Nowhere Near Good Enough"
at 07:25:19

I agree, PH. Things haven't been good enough for years!

Hopefully, a sign that the MM favourites are under a bit pressure, rather than the younger lads. It's clear we've needed better quality players all round the pitch for some time.

Updated - Marcus Evans Interview
at 13:03:32

In my opinion, a really good interview.

Some great questions in there. He definitely did his best to make a calculated avoidance of particular ones though, but ultimately we all know the answers to whether he would sell the club for £100m prior to hearing from him and the budget.

Unsure on this ‘we are going to try something different' quote. For me, it has to be a young and hungry manager, who is ready to prove themselves, whether from a lower league or a big name such as Stevie G.

Keep the ball on the floor and play to win.

Norwich City 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 20:39:34

First and foremost, where the hell did 5 minutes injury time come from!? Shocking officiating.

We were completely outplayed second half. Maddison clearly too good for us and probably should be playing a higher level.

Overall today epitomised the McCarthy era. Boring football, hard to beat and lacking anything creative. The season is pretty much over, we aren't gonna go down and nor good enough to compete with top 6. So why not go for it?

Subs showed how inept he is at tactics. McG, Hyam and Spence!? Got two creative, direct players in Carayol and Celina.... play em!

And swearing at us fans. Disgusting. I'd be sacked for swearing at loyal customers at work.... not really any different!?

McCarthy Bitterly Disappointed But Pleased With Performance
at 17:45:04

Under Mick we are neither going to get relegated or promoted, but thrown in with some pretty dire football. I'd much rather watch some free-flowing, attacking minded play and give it a go, rather than half-hearted hit and hope and occasionally rob the other team.

We lacked any form of creativity going forward and the only player that actually showed some genuine quality was Garner.

I'm sick to death of watching us aimlessly boot the ball forward and giving the other team the ball back. Did anyone count an Ipswich phase of play with 10 passes to a blue shirt!?! Because I didn't.

There is no disputing that Mick has done a good job on a shoe string budget etc. but today Norwich looked the weakest they have in 5-6 years, and I'd like to think we've got some better quality players than previous seasons so it's very disappointing.

Town Out to Continue Positive Start at Barnsley
at 09:03:21

Not being funny, and hopefully some agree but is Sears good enough to start?!

Personally, I'd be giving McG / Garner a chance together. I'd love to be proved wrong about Sears but I see him as more of a sub player now. We've got lots of players that can run about for a while, we need goal scorers and creative players from the beginning.

Based on what I've seen of Nydam / Downes, very impressed. Just can't see Mick starting both in the same team, all season.
