Referee missed a lot. With a more aware one the outcome would have been more straightforward and in our favour. Nonetheless, an excellent performance all round . MoM difficult but for me Hutchinson stood out as a class act

It's worth mentioning that the referee had a very good game - especially when compared with the dross that we have had to put up with most weeks

Lousy pitch - good game. Morsy showed how important he is, closely followed by Walton.

in the 15 minutes that he was on, Bonne showed that he is a level above Pigott. When part of an attacking passing movement, Evans, Norwood and Chaplin all too often stopped to think rather than actually passing and the impetus was lost. I can't see the evidence for signing Carroll, let alone actually playing him. Yet again Walton showed his "signing of the season" credentials.

A strange pair of substitutions on 78 minutes which changed the game and took away our effectiveness. That's down to the manager and I would mark him as '3.0'

Particular mention for Edwards of things that he might like to find out about. (1) Tracking back (2) Defending (3) Preventing crosses (4) Covering (5) Watching what is going on around you rather than admiring the opposition.

Ipswich Town v Queens Park Rangers Your Report added at 20:30:15
A collection of players of moderate ability as individuals, who tried hard; some of them were even average-plus. However, they showed no ability whatsoever to play as a team, and they did not appear to have any idea of what formation they should be in. When they did settle on a pattern they clearly had no faith in any instructions that they might have been given. These failings are entirely down to the manager, who unfortunately is not available to rate; but if he was, he would come in aroundd the 2 to 3 mark, at best. Taking off our one acquisition of definite talent, who also happens to be our leading goalscorer, didn't seem like the smartest move either.

Ipswich start at their usual frantic speed but fail to take early chances. Mings gives freedom of the park to the man he's supposed to be marking and Reading score. Ipswich enter brainless mode, which they maintain for the rest of the match.
