| News Comment | Former Blues Full-Back Kenlock Joins Barrow at 08:46:39
Good luck to him, I hope he does well. I don't know what went on but he didn't seem to be treated in quite the same way as some others. Let's hope Barrow are avoided in the cup ! |
| News Comment | Town Confirm Four Departures at 18:43:37
My view is based more on match reports, but to me it seems Kenlock often did a good job then was completely dropped from the squad. To me it seems something else happened that we'll never know. He also seems to have done well this season, so I hope he enjoys future success. |

Well done and Mon of the Match. I never understood why, after a few games, he disappeared from Cook's squad when he didn't need him. Reading match reports he was often involved in things. I hope he does well. |

He comes across as level headed and professional, which is a positive. I hope he succeeds as to me it seems a lot more encouraging than the previous change.. |
| News Comment | Cook: We Should Have Been Given More Time at Town at 12:41:55
Conveniently ignored the other games (half a season ...), tacitly admitting he wasn't capable of getting the best from the existing assets. I wonder what the challenges were wrt fitness ? |

Wimbledon made some good points about trying to manage the health situation and the potential disadvantage to them, having done well with limited resources in an geography of higher infection prevalence. It would be interesting to know how much their approach extends to strongly encouraging players are vaccinated and whether other teams follow similar approaches. Also an interesting theoretical point that squads could now differ due to the transfer window, though that clearly potentially happens as soon as the window opens. |
| News Comment | Cook: We Ended Up Losing a Game We Couldn’t Lose at 16:49:20
It was interesting on the EFL show the other day the comment was made to the effect of: the sign of a good manager is he's able to come in and get something out of the existing players then augment it a bit. That to my mind is the problem. Cook tacitly admitted early on he wasn't able to do that, so wanted wholesale changes and anyone already there wasn't good enough. His attitude of ignoring his own players last season I don't think was good nor motivating. And there have been some ill advised episodes since. |
| News Comment | Eleven Changes as Town Visit Gills in Papa John's Trophy at 19:06:28
I suppose because he didn't quite manage to get rid of every player from last season there's just about the required 4 with at least 40 starting appearances. I can't see him countenancing the alternative of starting one of them in the next match. |
| News Comment | Lincoln City 0-1 Ipswich Town - Highlights at 13:50:29
Phew, got away with that one looking at the highlights. I think if the table were turned there'd be a few fans protesting about the linesman flagging that offside ! A win at last, let's see what happens next. |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-5 Bolton Wanderers - Match Report at 18:15:55
Since turning his back on players last season I have not been a fan as I believe it shows poor man management and a tacit admission he's not capable of getting the best out of his staff. How long till he starts ignoring this bunch and saying he needs to buy 20 more in Jan as they aren't good enough ?! At least he has an excuse not to play KVY now and he can then have dispensed with all last season's team, which he gives the impression is his desire. It may not be for a while but whenever and whoever is the next manager (as there will be another one day) don't let him be called Paul ... |
