| News Comment | Cajuste: Incredibly Frustrating at 13:08:56
ArnieM - funny how after the Utd game you posted “We're not out of place at this level are we!” and now we lose a couple of close games and you’re calling for half the squad to be sold, and suggesting that Szmodics, a guy we’ve given a first chance at playing in the prem at the age of 28 after one good championship season, will be “asking for a transfer in Jan”. The fact that we are even competing at this level is an incredible achievement. This time two years ago, we conceded in 90+6 to draw 1-1 with Fleetwood Town. Now you’re angry that we lost 1-0 to a club that made almost as much money selling one player (Olise) than we spent on our entire transfer window last summer. Pack in the melodramatic whinging and get behind the boys. Even if we go down, we’ve had an incredible run and the signings we’ve made are young and exciting, and should allow us a great chance to bounce straight back up and stabilise in the prem. COYB <3 |
| News Comment | McKenna: With Everyone Fit and Available, We Are Pretty Strong in Midfield at 16:39:15
We’d be mad to send Phillips back…Morsy is getting on a bit, and Cajuste is only just back from a long term injury. No chance they can play every game through the festive period, and we’re only one or two injuries/suspensions away from being light in that area again. I think Cajuste and Morsy are our best options there at the moment, but having Phillips ready to step in when needed will be massively important for our season. I’d also be tempted to bring Humphrys back in Jan for extra cover, particularly if Taylor might be used further forwards. I think as an U21 he wouldn’t count towards our squad limit. |
| News Comment | Cajuste: It's Been a Ride at 08:59:41
Agreed victorysquad, looks like he’ll be some player if he can settle. Thought he looked class against Brentford, despite not being fully fit. |
| News Comment | Halajko: Category One a Priority at 14:17:33
ArnieM he’s not exactly using complicated terms… Gap analysis = working out the gaps between we’re at and where we need to be for cat 1 timeline = timeline trajectory = the plan baseline = where we’re at destination = where we’re going Thought he spoke well actually, and good to see we have a very experienced professional taking charge of the move to cat 1. |
| News Comment | McKenna: New Investment Good News For Everyone Involved With the Club at 08:15:50
Really hoping that with the off field improvements planned (cat 1 academy in particular) and the fact that money will be available for transfers, McKenna will be convinced to stay here longer term. Biggest fear if we don’t go up is him getting poached by a Prem club like Brighton. Aside from that, I actually wouldn’t mind us missing promotion and having a summer to sign a few and stabilise before smashing the league next year. |

Isn’t it more likely that it’s a back four with Ball at right back? He’s played there before in his career… |
| News Comment | Kasımpaşa Confirm Celina Signing at 13:09:19
Shame, particularly as he was apparently keen to rejoin us. I suspect he's on high wages at his parent club and the Turkish club were willing to pay a higher proportion of them than we were. I can't imagine he would have chosen to play in front of such a tiny crowd if they'd left the choice to him. Ah well, I wish him the best! |
| News Comment | Norwood Joins Barnsley at 11:17:49
Agreed 100% Monkey_Blue. Drink driving is not “making a mistake”, it's a conscious decision to do something unbelievably dangerous to everyone else who might happen to be near by. If he'd hit and injured/killed someone while driving pissed everyone here would be saying what a sh*t he is. Just because he was lucky and didn't cause an accident doesn't mean the decision to drive in that state was anything other than awful. And as you say, being caught on two different occasions strongly suggests he did it a lot more times. Yes he played well for us and I'm grateful for that, but honestly I'm glad he's gone. Don't want people like that anywhere near our club. |
| News Comment | Keeper Picked Pompey Ahead of Town at 11:29:37
“I've put a lot of trust in Danny“ definitely very full of his own self importance isn't he…if we had a loan player in I'd hope they'd be focussing on the trust we had put in them, not the other way around! |
| News Comment | Former Blues Skipper Edwards Nets Decisive Spot-Kick For Bury at 07:56:53
I don't think it's anything personal from PC, he just doesn't think they're good enough and I think if we're all completely honest, we would have to agree. He's made it clear to them they aren't in his plans, better that they train with the u23s and get a run out here than not at all. Jackson was useless last season, Kenlock and Bishop haven't really kicked on from promising starts and the simple fact is, they won't get anywhere near our first team next year if PC gets his targets in. I honestly think it would be worse man management to have them training with the first team now, only to be dropped from the squad come the start of the season. This way they can focus on staying fit and looking for a new club. |
| News Comment | Bolton Targeting Nsiala Move at 17:41:19
I was at the boxing day game and he looked like a player completely shot of confidence...much as he seems like a nice guy, I have never seen a professional footballer completely miss the ball when trying to kick it multiple times in a match. Having said that, the recovering slide tackle he made after the first miss kick was truly brilliant... Fresh start for him and some money back for us would seem like a good deal for both parties. |
| News Comment | Lambert: Woolfenden's Going to Be a Really Good Player at 19:10:09
Woolfenden, Emmanuel, Kenlock, Dozzell, Downes, Nydam, Bishop, Lankaster...and I know there's several more I'm forgetting, plus the U23s have been tearing up their (admittedly not great quality) league. The club is in trouble in many ways, but one big plus is it looks like we're producing plenty of good quality youngsters who seem to be not far off first team standard already |
| News Comment | Lambert: Club Needs to Be Rebuilt, Some Players Will Go at 18:17:05
Good to hear that he's under no delusions about where we are at, not that I'd expect anything else from Lambert. I genuinely think he has the attitude and ability to do something about the state we are in at the moment, rather than a bullying egomaniac like Keane or Hurst. Relegation is pretty much inevitable, but we have a good bunch of youngsters coming through and I genuinely think Lambert has the right idea about how this club should be run. I hope he is able to make a few decent signings this transfer window and get rid of some of the rubbish that we've ended up with and then at least give us a bit of pride to finish the season with. Our chances of bouncing back up will be so much higher if we can get a bit of confidence back in the second half of the season... Hopefully things can only improve from here, because this has got to be about as low as we've ever been as a club. |
| News Comment | Town Meet Shrews' Valuation for Nsiala and Nolan as Signings Get Closer at 10:01:17
Excellent news, not sure about Nsiala but Hurst clearly rates him and I trust his judgment. Nolan looks pure class though, really hope we can get this done as I think he could be the answer to our missing midfield creativity problem that in all honesty I think we've had since we were in the premier league! |
| News Comment | EACH Logo to Appear on Junior Shirts at 12:22:32
Clearly an advertising ploy to get fans on board, but at the end of the day it's getting free publicity for an excellent cause. Still not thrilled about them being our sponsor but credit where credit is due, it's a good move for all concerned. Now I wonder how big they make the junior shirts... |
| News Comment | Charlton, Scunthorpe and Bradford Linked With Moore at 11:14:05
Bring him back, play him up top with garner/McG. We've been crying out for someone with a bit of physical presence up top since Murph left. And no, I don't mean so that we can play long balls up to him, the simple fact is that none of our current strikers can bully defenders. Him up top with someone alongside and Celina and Waghorn our wide would be a nicely balanced front line that would be able to break down defences...against qpr we struggled because no one was getting in the middle and causing their defence problems, plenty of crosses going in and no one on the end of them. Would love to see him given a proper chance...he's only 25 and has been scoring goals for fun in League 1, exactly what we need! |
