Can’t say I’m surprised given the way the Luton fan I work with reacted when he left to go to Stoke.

There wasn’t. However, I’d already decided myself that there was no way I would be spending close to 10 hours on a coach going to Bristol and back with things the way they were, even if the game was going ahead.

Please explain to me with facts how I am more complicit in the problems of this country than you are. I seem to remember you ran home from an area of high infection to somewhere with very low incidence at the start of this.

How can a person who said an infected person should “lick a Tory and make the world a better place” and responded to criticism of that post with “bulb” lecture anyone on self awareness?

I too was in Churchmans that day having queued from around midday to get in. I remember there was a barrier that broke in the North Stand that day with a few injuries resulting, but certainly don’t recall seeing anything during the game though.

Another code breaker goes to that Bletchley Park in the sky
at 20:26 17 May 2020

Apparently the Mansion and much of the site was sold to a builder just prior to the war in 1938 for redeveloping as housing. But it was then purchased later that same year by the Head of SIS with a view to using in the event of war. The head of SIS used his own money as there wasn’t sufficient in the government budget! I spent 5 weeks at Bletchley Park in 1980 when it was still used as a Post Office Telcomms Training school. This was obviously before they had the museum and the rebuilt Colossus. Many of the decoding huts had been turned into accommodation blocks, where we stayed, and we used to drink in the bar and play snooker in the evenings In the main mansion.

That proves the underlying sound processing is working so that’s good. But a bit strange neither laptop speaker or Bluetooth audio are. I’d say that tends to suggest a driver problem but you’ve tried that .

Has the NHS ever let you down? (n/t)

I must say my experience with my Mother’s treatment couldn’t be more different. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in her mid 80s. She had all sorts of scans to establish this both at Ipswich and Colchester hospitals. Once diagnosed she was referred to the specialist unit at Norwich and after a few tests there she was offered surgery to remove part of her lung. She actually rejected that option (somewhat to my annoyance at the time!), mainly because it was very high risk at her age, despite the Consultant giving only 3-6 month life expectancy without it. As a consequence, she ended up back in the charge of Ipswich Hospital who then organised Radio therapy instead. Fortunately this seems to have reduced the cancer and has since shown no new signs of growth. Since the radio therapy she’s had regular scans, initially at 3 month intervals, then 6 month and now yearly. She realises she’s still living on borrowed time but she’s still here, three years on and still relatively independent. I must say I can’t fault any of the hospitals she’s be treated at and I’m enormously grateful for all the efforts they have made.

My son has had his 3rd term accommodation charge cancelled now he’s living at home. This term was also just revision and exams anyway so he’s not really missed out much as the revision sessions were done online, as are his exams, which he’s started this week. Having just received his maintenance grant for this term he’s now flush!

I must admit I was somewhat shocked when I attended Hospital on the Monday the day before the full lockdown started. I was being examined just prior to a procedure and was asked to repeatedly cough. I lifted my hands to cover my mouth and was politely told to leave them where they were. I was in close proximity to three members of staff, all absent any face masks. I’d also had no vetting or tests for any Covid symptoms prior to this request. Couldn’t really believe it at the time and still find it puzzling.
