my sincere condolences for the loss of your father.My father took me to watch Ipswich in 62/63 season with me sitting on his shoulders and he passed away 3 years ago but still asked me about town's result every time i saw him.

A brilliant move,not only from a PR basis but to feed off these guys can only help the cause.I presume M Mills had other comittments but i'm sure he will be involved at some point.
I think it can only help to build the players confidence and of course the fans as well.
Maybe Muhren and Thjissen could be called over to deliver their pearls of wisdom?
All hands to the pump but i think PL is being very thorough in getting to know the club and its heritage |

I'm sorry,but that is the last time i pay £10 to watch games on ifollow.I know i live a fair way away from Ipswich but i have followed and watched them from 1962 till 1981when i moved away from the area although been down a few times since when family permitted.

Sorry that i can't get down to watch games these days but listening to commentary on ifollow ,i have to say that Mick Mills speaks so much sense so why can't he,George Burley and Terry Butcher be brought in to instill some kind of formation/organisation into the team? They know the club and they know how we should play.
I have to say that i think PH is really out of his depth despite the win at Swansea. |

Did i not see comments re Deputy Doig's relationships with the players and general coaching abilities? I have been a supporter since my Dad took me to my first match sitting on his shoulders in 62/63 in Churchmans but i am struggling to follow PH's logic with holding back the youngsters bearing in mind the current success of the 18;s and 23's.
The 3 degrees of Klug,Burley and Butcher would be a big improvement in my book!!
At least they would bring passion if nothing else.Please excuse my rant!! |

This so so sad .Listened to him on Life's a Pitch yesterday and he sounded in top form.
I had the honour of selling him a 3 pce suit for his wedding all those years ago and struck me as a very decent guy.
If i remember correctly he scored a bullet header for England, rising above everyone to power the ball in the net.
RIP to one of the best ever.:-( |

I was lucky enough to see Ted play in 62/63 and in 1971 faced him at cricket when he was bowling for Colchester and East Essex against my school first eleven in a one day 'friendly'
.I will never forget the speed he still had with the ball and I did not have to use a comb to part my hair for 3 weeks!!No helmets in those days !!

Just watched the UEFA Cup sequence on the ipswich website and it almost seemed like it was fantasy land but it just goes to show where we were in those days.Easy to look back but hopefully the future is brighter.I actually sold Kevein Beattie his wedding suit ! happy days !! |
