I don't think anyone was suggesting that we deserved something from that. It was a game where we pretty much cancelled eachother out. Both teams had spells of pressure, both teams had spells with the ball, neither team created anything clear-cut. We lost to a very good free kick. |

That was a genuine booking, though. And so was the one for their left back.
It's the 50/50s and legit challenges that he seems to be getting wrong all the time. |

He absolutely skinned the left back in around the 6th minute and got him booked but we haven't been trying to play there ever since. Omari should be having a field day out there knowing that the full back can't touch him! |

Even though everything (apart from the pen) is going our way, the ref is making some terrible decisions! I also think their goal should've counted. |

Matt's response was a brief summary of what I wrote, and was correct. Although a brief summary also makes the incident sound much worse than it actually was.
My post put a little more meat on the bone as to why I didn't think it was a red card offense. |

The defender took a loose touch and, in his desperation not to lose possession, lunged in. He might have put a little on Chaplin but it looked as though he sold the foul and the ref bought it - great job! Yes, it was two footed and, yes, studs were showing but it didn't look particularly dangerous or nasty.
