| News Comment | Aluko: A Bitter One But We'll Bring Fans Happy Times at 12:59:17
Fair play to the lad, that was certainly the short straw being told to go do a press conference after that pump served up yesterday. Shame we can't emulate our sponsor and be top of the league for however many weeks it's been!! |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 2-5 Bolton Wanderers - Match Report at 17:35:31
Lots in the post I agree with when you go through each of them: Gates will continue to decline as people realize they get more value from watching their local non league side. coaching team is terrible (former kit man???) Are the players actually all that or is it hype? Is Paul Cook all that without his Wing Man? For me it's thank you Cook, time to move on, Pompey can have him back! |
| News Comment | Cook: The Reality is We Need a Little Bit of Time to Gel at 23:07:25
How many times will we hear the gel comment I wonder? how long can he use that as an excuse? At least he doesn't have to change much on his post match interviews. Oh and is it Pompey at the top of the league?? 4 in 20 and a very uninspiring pre season. Great start PC, actually worse than what we had and that's saying something. Please prove us wrong, we are waiting patiently. |
| News Comment | Keeper White Moves Out on Loan at 13:37:09
I'm unsure how much playing time he will get at Gosport as I believe they have already signed another keeper. Feel sorry for the 21 year old they had in goal during pre-season. Good luck to the lad, I was there on the staff for a season a few years back |
| News Comment | Colchester United 3-3 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 22:44:44
We are keeping Dobra right ??? Best player on the pitch by far. Just needs to pass after he ghosts past players. Piggott looked a handful. Keeper right back two starting centre backs, no thanks. |
| News Comment | Chaplin Signing Confirmed at 19:26:29
Great video montage (if you turn the music off)!!! Wasn't we in for Caplin when he left Pompey? Well rated and liked at Pompey too I believe. |
| News Comment | Lambert: I Won’t Have a Player Say They’d Rather Be at Home With the Wife and Kids at 09:45:42
But why take him along if he's not going to be used? Was this just in case a sub got injured in the warm up. Did Lambert not actually know who he was going to use until he got there! It's getting very much like Lambert against the world, like others, I actually worry about the guys Mental Health, surely he would be better off, stepping away, spending time with his family and forgetting this sorry episode before the chances of employment with another meaningful team evaporate for ever. Roy Keane arguably played for a bigger team than Lambert ever did and we know how well that went! |
| News Comment | O'Neill: Loan Route Was the Only Option at 10:59:42
In my opinion getting youngsters in (who are younger than some of our own young lads) says a lot about the level of our coaching and ability of our own academy. Just because we are a L1 team, does it mean we have youngsters that don't have the ability to play at our current level? I also agree , if we do get promoted it will be because of these 4 loan players we have recently got in. Then what? 6 players down! To strengthen the squad for championship football would cost how much?? So much for developing a blend of our own assets supported by some senior players with experience. Total last through of the dice and a sticking plaster. |
| News Comment | Thomas: The Mood in the Dressing Room is Good at 13:15:45
I'm guessing the lad is fully aware of the current level of apathy surrounding the club in respect of the fans and I'm guessing the media. I know he won't say anything negative and I do feel sorry for him coming into this environment at the moment. All he can do is impress, but will that be enough especially as he is a sticking plaster (not one of our players come the end of the season)! |
| News Comment | Lambert: I Thought We Were Really Good, I Couldn't Ask For Any More at 20:13:41
Well looking through all these posts, for once we are all in agreement. I cannot believe what PL has said, surely he could not be that deluded! I thought to myself earlier, is it wrong when a fan says get out of my club as we don't own it, however what is a club without fans, that's what clubs are based on, their fan base! Ipswich has been a part of my life as it has for so many of us (since 78 for me). I can handle loosing and don't expect to win every game. now I have no interest, no players to get excited about, a manager people actually hate with an owner nobody understands. It's something when your watching lower league clubs playing on TV and actually thinking we'd probably loose against them too. Who remembers the end of season videos (yes VHS) with our seasons highlights. I wonder when we will have a meaningful one of them again! |
| News Comment | Wark Tops Stand Pillar Poll at 21:13:36
Ray Crawford was at my sons match at Fareham Town (he used to be the manager many years back) this past Saturday and when I spoke to him he had no idea about this endeavour. I said I had voted for him so I'm made up that he has made into the final 12. |
| News Comment | Lambert: We Were Nowhere Near It, We Were Really, Really Poor at 18:16:56
Someone please wake me up when this nightmare is over. We are so Cr@p it's almost laughable! We need players, we didn't get quality this year so why should we think we get them next season. I laughed when we were made favourites to go down!! |
| News Comment | Preston North End 4-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:53:39
And this is the way forward. Our youth are not good enough yet. U23 is less than step 9 in quality, to expect them to step up is stupid. I used to love driving to matches from afar to see someone with talent playing for Ipswich. Even a hasbeen talent got me to take the long trek to town. Nothing got me there this season and alas can't see me bothering next season either. We are shadow of the club we once were. I wonder how many die hard Ipswich fans are now watching local non league football now? We will be low to mid table in League one next year fearing the mighty Lincoln City with 8k attendances. |
| News Comment | Chambers: We'll Be Seen as a Scalp in League One at 17:47:05
Portsmouth would destroy us and they are not even in the auto promotion places. We need players in to supplement what we have as what we have will not be good enough. I don't mean someone who isn't good enough for Newcastle we have plenty of our own potential what we need is current ability to nurture the potential. Mark my words if the season starts rubbish for us some of the worse times under PH and MM will seem like a positive atmosphere. Expectation is a very hard belief to manage |
| News Comment | Chambers: We'll Be Seen as a Scalp in League One at 14:23:25
We re not that strong, thinking we will be up their with the favourites is disrespectful to the other League teams near the top (who we would probably lose to now). Yes we have a decent crop of youngsters but lets please remember that U23 football is a massive step down from first team football (Southampton and Bournemouth's U23s couldn't win local Hampshire football competitions against step 9 Wessex league sides). We need better players to be competitive at L1 level. Something we didn't get this season in the Championship so I'm not holding my breath. |
