 | News Comment | Coventry City 1-4 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:28:29
Clarke hasn’t had much luck for us—like when he hit the post against Fulham. But he’s looked excellent in the FA Cup, both today and in the previous round. If he could just get a Premier League goal, it might give him the confidence boost he needs to really kick on. When he gave the ball away cheaply against Man City and they scored, you could see how devastated he was. So, it’s great to see him smiling today and hopefully putting that behind him. We all know there’s a talented player there—it just hasn’t quite clicked for him this season. But maybe that’s about to change. Onwards and upwards! |
 | News Comment | Burgess: The Competition For Places Drives Us Forward at 11:27:07
I think he's been unlucky not to have had more starts; he's done really well for us whenever called upon. I know the team needed strengthening for the Premier League, but I can't help but wonder where we might be now if we had stuck with the old guard a bit more regularly. They got us here in the first place and deserved their chance to shine. Some of the players we've signed don't seem like an upgrade over the likes of Burgess, Chaplin and Broadhead, etc. In fact, some (without naming names) feel like a downgrade. And even if it didn't work out with our Promotion heroes, we'd still have millions left in the bank to work with moving forward. Nonetheless, I'm still obviously a huge fan of McKenna; he's got more than enough credit in the bank given the miracles he's worked for us. I'm so grateful for how far he's taken us. I understand you need to be ruthless in football, but I do sometimes question if perhaps he was maybe a bit too ruthless with our squad from last season. Although I fully recognise that hindsight is a wonderful thing! |
 | News Comment | Crowdfunder For Blues Legend Stewart at 09:30:47
YouTube link might not have worked, it was for Marcus Stewart's goal against Liverpool as mentioned above by timbousa. What a goal! If you search on YouTube for: "A great goal from a great player. Marcus Stewart brilliance at Anfield back in 2000." And you will be able to relive some Marcus magic. |
 | News Comment | Merry Christmas From TWTD at 11:30:53
Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. I lost my sister this year, so I wasn’t really in the festive spirit. That said, watching Wallace and Gromit on Christmas Day helped lift my spirits. Not feeling too confident about Ipswich's chances tonight, but you never know! Wishing you all a Happy New Year. |
 | News Comment | Fans React Angrily to Portman Road Parking Price Hike at 11:51:58
That’s a steep hike, jumping from £5.90 or £7 to £15! Anything over £10 feels like they’re really pushing it. This is likely to stick in the minds of many Town fans when the next local elections come around. While some might have reluctantly accepted a price hike to £10, anything above that feels downright greedy. |
 | News Comment | Peskett: I Want to Get to the Top With Town at 11:05:38
She's a top player. I'm sure she's a got a great career in front of her. Let's hope Sophie gets a deserved shot at a FA Cup QF in the not-too-distant future. |
 | News Comment | Juventus Watching Delap - Report at 15:49:04
It feels like heaven having strikers like Delap and Hirst after enduring those dark years with underwhelming forwards like Varney and Sammon! |
 | News Comment | Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 16:15:56
OMG, that 2nd half aged me 10 years, but it was well worth it in the end! What a massive win just before the international break. I would have snapped their hand off for a draw before a ball was kicked, so 3 points is pure dreamland. Four consecutive wins vs Spurs, can we play them every week?! COYB!!! |
 | News Comment | McKenna on Morsy, Taylor, Hutchinson and Ogbene Fitness Issues at 18:47:54
When it rains it pours! Well how about a little poem to cheer us all up a tad? In the Premier League, we thought we'd soar, Spent a hundred plus million, dreaming of more. "Top dogs!" we cheered, with swagger and flair, Then came the fixtures, and we gasped in despair. Nine games in, still hunting for wins, McKenna's on five mil, counting his sins. Muric's in goal, like a fish out of sea, Gifting 3 points to Thomas Frank the Bee. From dreams of glory to a relegation fight, Each match a comedy, oh, what a sight! With every lost point, our hopes disappear, Will we have any wins by the end of the year? Hopefully you feel a tad brighter after reading that! :-) |
 | News Comment | Brentford 4-3 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 17:27:12
In the 96th minute, Muric made a slip, An easy cross turned into a blip. Like Dracula dodging the crosses all night, The Bees stung Ipswich and sealed it tight. Now fans shout loud, "Give Walton a call! He’ll catch every cross and stand proud and tall. With hands like glue, he’ll keep us alive, Bring back our top keeper; he’ll help us survive!" To be fair to Muric, he made a fantastic save in the second half. However, he seems prone to costly mistakes, which we can't afford, especially at this level! His inconsistency certainly raises concerns about his reliability. |
 | News Comment | Ashton: In My Mind I Couldn't Picture Kieran Anywhere Else at 16:39:31
"We work as one. The two of us are the same, we’re just totally obsessed with it and as I’m given the oxygen to do my job by my owners, my job is to put a bubble round Kieran and give him the oxygen and let him do his job unhindered." Oxygen Addict Alert: "I’m just waiting for MA to come clean about the club's hierarchy having an oxygen addiction. "Hi, I’m Mark, and I’m an oxygen-aholic. I can’t get enough of that sweet, sweet O2!" Not forgetting Mr Ed Schwartz (CEOxygen) either. Oxygen Addicts Anonymous: Where we breathe easy and share our highs! Heaven forbid, I hope I haven't talked up an O2 scoreline in our next key game! O2 at half time would be ok as we could then come back and win 3-2, as it is Everton we're talking about! :-) |
