Ha! Those 'promotion' celebrations were duly ridiculed by us the next season, when Town and CIty were both enjoying very different fortunes in the PL. It spawned what is, to this day, one of the wittiest songs I've heard ring out at Portman Road:
Blue moon, You celebrated too soon, And now you're going back down, And Europe's coming to Town.
Anyone else hear the honourable mention for ITFC on the Chris Evans show this morning?
Vassos Alexander (co-presenter on the show, and a Fulham fan) mentioned that Mark Ashton texted him, after the cup draw was made, to invite him to the game as a guest. Evans commented that ITFC are "going great guns at the moment", and, "although Ipswich is not just round the corner, it's lovely when you get there".
Whatever you think of Chris Evans, it's nice to hear the Towen getting some national exposure.
Does anyone else remember an edition of Football Focus way back in the day, when the presenter mentioned that Bobby Robson was weighing up a move to sign him?
