Keogh Signing Confirmed
at 12:46:44

Welcome on board. Good cover and if he gets into the starting 11 either through others poor form or injury, has plenty of experience at higher levels to cope at L1 and maybe difficult to then drop. Hopefully a proven striker in next and we are complete, at least until next window.

Edwards Linked With Wigan Move
at 10:50:25

On his day a decent player but sadly didn't have his day often enough and seemed to get lost in many games. Wish him luck if he moves on but hopefully Cook has lined up a stronger more consistent player for him. Would of been nice for Town to have got a few quid for the sell on though, which is why I guess he was offered an extension?

Town Takeover Completed
at 12:29:41

Well if it stops those slagging off Marcus Evans week in week out for however many years now, this site will be a more enjoyable place.
Not convinced US Corporate / Pension Fund ownership is ideal but we shall see.
Thanks Marcus for all the money you have put into the Club and sorry it hasn't worked out. Unfortunately some poor managerial appointments and a bunch of players along the way that simply were and are not good enough or have the desire to suceed.
Let's hope this now changes and PC can be given the funds to bring in all the players he wants for future promotions back to the Premiership and finally return to being a team we can be proud of again. COYB

Owner Evans on Cook, Lambert and Takeover Talk
at 05:50:54

Good. Give me a UK based Millionaire with the Club at heart over any US based consortium or the like. Our problem has been poor managers in the main, hopefully this is now sorted.
I still believe ME very much has the Club at heart and my only piece of advice to him is to speak out more often about what is happening with the Club and plans etc, perhaps at least once a month. I know LON is the spokesman for you, who compared to some of his predecessors, does a decent job, but to hear from ME more often I think would increase his support. Let's hope Paul Cook can finally bring what ultimately all ITFC fans want, success on the pitch!

Lambert: I Won’t Have a Player Say They’d Rather Be at Home With the Wife and Kids
at 10:31:23

Agree with many of these comments and that Lamberts time is well up, many weeks ago in fact IMO. However, I do agree with the sentiment that these players need to give everything for the club. They are paid a lot of money to kick a bag of wind around and should do everyting required by the club. It should be frustrating if you are not in the 18 but it maybe a late decision on the final 18 and with some of the powder puffs we have, an injury in training before a game seems common. The players should also want to support their colleagues playing and be frustrated that they can't get on the pitch and play. It wouldn't surpise me if there are a few bad eggs amongst the players and the best managers we have had - Ramsey, Robson, Lyall, Burley and Royle would not accept players that weren't giving everything. This may still come back as poor management but I think his point in this case is what i would want to hear from a Manager and some of these players should be named and brought to task when they are out of line!
Lambert Out.

Bent: Something's Got to Change at Town, Fans Are Telling Me the Soul's Been Ripped Out of the Club
at 13:47:01

Very interesting comments from Darren Bent, especially people that he knows at the club that he is in contact with are not happy. Rumours of unhappy dressing room, staff, may not be that far off the truth.
The team is good enough to be promoted out of this league. The Manager and his tactics clearly aren't.

Ipswich Town 2-3 Swindon Town - Match Report
at 19:46:00

Awful performance against a team that has won away once this season. We were awful and Chambers and Ward extremely poor. Lack of fight until Norwood and Downes come on. Sadly I think pi$$ poor tactics and looked just so awful. Dozzell played okay and Norwood looked good and should have started. Jackson poor again but so many under performers on the pitch such as Huws. Got to wonder if time is up for Lambert with no plan B yet again. Had an opportunity to make some ground today and blown it away again.

Blue Action Call For Lambert Exit
at 16:33:58

Difficult decision to make. Lambert has certainly failed to impress since he first arrived. There wasn't the new manager boost in performance and we fell from the Championship with barely a whimper. We were then playing in a league lower and all looked good from the start but as the season went on and became obvious that we struggled to beat anybody in the top part of the table along with a run of games where we couldn't beat anyone and the usual disappointment in all cup games. This season is now beginning to echo last season as we are now out of all competitions and still struggling to put on a performance against the better teams.
As many have said PL doesn't seem to have a plan B when his A fails and the ability to read a game and make positive changes. He says we can't play 2 up front as they are not very good, well one upfront is not good either as we don't score often and we certainly won't score many goals spending most of our possession football between the defenders and the GK!
On the flip side, I don't lay much at Marcus Evans door as he continues to personally fund all of this within the constraints of the FA, without him or a serious investor we are doomed. Those who continually moan about him need to remember tha Club runs at a loss and has done for years. He doesn't train the players, who must also take much of the blame too as many of them continually fail to step up to the mark and realise the importance of the shirt they are pulling on. Judge, Sears and Huws are all players that have played at higher levels and seem to be struggling for good performances in League 1. The level of injuries for the last few seasons is incredulous and continues to be amazing that so many suffer injuries in training that keep them out for weeks. This is either a training issue or extremely bad luck and without a doubt if we could play all of our first team we would be much stronger and am sure that the results would reflect this.
I feel that the time is getting near for PL if the performances don't improve soon and it may just be the likes of KVY, Downes, Dozzell and Drinian coming back that can be the extra bit of quality to turn the corner but it needs to happen soon as another season stuck in League 1 could condemn us to being here for much longer. PL, the clock is ticking.

Lambert: Clubs Could Find Themselves in Real Trouble
at 17:11:22

Without Marcus Evans financing the club, we would be in a dire position. Paul Lambert has certainly made some questionable decisions on the pitch, which have been highlighted by many and mentioned by himself that he would do things differently.
The players are the ones that are on the pitch, pulling on the shirt. Some of these players need to look at themselves and how their form has been so mixed over the course of the season.
One of the main problems came about when we stopped scoring goals. Norwoods form and perhaps fitness seemed part of this. I feel the player injuries was definitely a factor but the squad should have been big enough / strong enough to have still come through many of the games they lost by a goal.
Hopefully we can hold onto the key players, bring through more from the youth and if there are 1 or 2 new players that are perhaps have to be released, that can bring into strengthen the squad so we will be in a position to restart stronger come Sept / Oct.

Chambers: We Still Feel We've Got an Opportunity
at 15:10:14

IMO the problem has not been so much in defence, which at times has been poor but more the lack of goals up front or from midfield. I can think of Town teams where the defence has been very average but have managed to score more goals than their opponents and getting the right results. We started the season scoring a little more freely but as soon as this dried up we have been struggling and is one of the weakest positions on the pitch. The number of chances that have gone begging is disappointing. Injuries of course has played a big part and Lambert rotational system too.
I think that Chambers is a decent captain and more than good enough at the level we now find ourselves. If the strikers start finding the back of the net again it will take the pressure of the rest of the team as this is not a league we should be struggling in.

EFL Confirm Fixtures Postponed Until 3rd April
at 11:33:27

Agree with postponement as doing the right thing. As some have pointed out, we may have a few players recovered by then too. On another view, if we are then potentially having to play more than twice a week or have a shortened Summer break, the players seem to struggle playing twice a week so how they will cope with more often would be a concern!
Brittaniaman - Of course ME could use the time to get a replacement in too if this was a direction he was thinking of going with Lambo based on PL record since December. I do however think that he will give him at least until the Summer and see how the results between now and then are, especially if we have a couple of key players available again.

Lambert Hopeful on Skuse and Huws
at 11:40:04

The constant calls for Evans out are mad. Without him Town would be another Bury. He has already said if the right person comes along he would sell. He doesn't pick the team or under perform on the pitch. Yes it would be great if he could find some more funds for that extra push back up the league's as longer term the revenue should then improve, but to be fair, he has pumped a hell of a lot of money into the Club since he has been owner.
Upto Christmas Town were doing well and then some daft managerial decisions on rotation along with bad luck on the injury front and the team generally appearing to give 80% effort and we have fallen quickly.
Injuries, player selection, no plan B, lack of effort can't be aligned to M.E. and a decent manager would get this team out of league 1.
The likes of those posting anti Evans at every opportunity is not helpful. Yes, M.E., please find a bit more to spend but better still, have a Manager that can motivate a team to keep winning.

Lambert Hopeful on Skuse and Huws
at 11:07:10

Hopefully they won't be playing the ball in the air Mark, as we are better on the ground. I struggle to think of anybody in the team that is good with the ball in the air beyond Downes or some of the defenders!
Crazy football for keeper to continually pump the ball up to Keane when he lost every ball to their central defender. No plan B again. It shows how weak we are when we don't have Downes and Skuse in the team to breakup the opposition. Nolan seems to have lost what little he had.

Town Confirm Vincent-Young Signing
at 14:40:40

Happy with this signing as an area of the pitch we have been poor for sometime. If we can now get a good left back too and a big target man up front then we really should have enough quality with players coming back to challenge at the top end of this league.

Peterborough United 2-2 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 18:05:02

Another awful performance by Myles Kenlock. Amazed he is picked each week but sadly lack of competition in that position. Shame as we have had some great left backs over the years including relatively recent players in Cresswell and Mings, but MK is the worst I can recall in many years of watching Town. He is better going forward than he is defending, where he fails to mark his man and is sadly shown lacking week in week out and is slow too. Hoping PL can find someone to slot into that position.

Clubs Showing Early Interest in Bialkowski
at 10:14:56

This is rubbish. We have him on a long contract, his wages are being quoted as falling along with the other player who underperformed this season and so become less of an issue. If he likes the area and likes playing at Town then there is no reason for Town to let him go other than for a premium that can't be turned down. If they want him bad enough and he wants to move because of potential of moving up a place or 2 in the Poland team in a 'higher placed' league team then let whichever clubs pay what Town / PL want for him otherwise tell them where to go or let them have Gerkin.

Chambers Signs New Deal
at 10:27:13

I wonder if those that are slating Chambers have considered the poor defence he has had around him this season? Pennington I feel has been the strongest of our defenders this year but if you consider all the others he has had to cover around him, it hasn't helped. Saying that, he has certainly had better seasons and a scored a few goals from corners, sadly lacking by the whole team this year.
As a captain, I think it is fair to say that he is the best Town have had since Matty Holland and his desire for Ipswich to do well is obvious. Hoping for good things from the team under PL next year and feel he can be a key part of that. Well done Luke.
