You cannot fault the ambition of the club, or the fact that we have done significant business before the season starts. Welcome Conor. I hope your stay is enjoyable and successful

Disability Liaison Officer Duff Dies

An absolute gent, who I had the privilege to know a little. Warner was ex Navy, and as an ex squaddie, we enjoyed some proper inter service banter. My thoughts are with his wife Debbie, his family, his good friend Russell, and all those who had the honour to know such a wonderful man. You can stand down now Warner, your service to your country, and our football club is done, and we thank you for the wonderful way you went about it.

Clements Signs First Pro Deal
at 05:15:44

This young man has caught my eye when I have watched the youths. I genuinely believe he could go on to be a very good player for us. He keeps it very simple, but is athletic, tidy and decent going forward. I wish him well.

McCarthy Hints at Early Town Exit
at 18:33:42

If you are off, thanks for turning us round at the start of your tenure, and for your first 3or so years. Also thanks for the final game. It was cracking. A shame you lacked conviction over the last two years, as you assembled a not too shabby squad, although decimated b6 injuries to your attackin* options.

U18s Crash Out of Youth Cup
at 06:40:17

Enjoyed the game. Probably not one the ref would look back on with glee. Looking at it with a neutral head on, I thought their number 9 was similar to garner. I suspect there is a future in the game for him as he battled for his team very hard. I liked our left back and number 9and yes Nydam did stand out for me. Some nice football played by the youngsters, just needed a more cutting edge. I personally thought we played the ball too slowly too often, and that was easy for a well organised Blackpool team to defend. But I enjoyed it and will probably go see the youths again

McCarthy: Pleased With Performance, Absolutely Delighted With Result
at 08:36:42

There are many factors that will mean people are not attending, and these will differ for many people. I get that we are successful, but pleasant on the eye we are not. McCarthy has spent the very little Evans has allowed him extremely well and we have a pretty decent squad.

But he does not trust the players he has available. I acknowledge he has had many injuries to key players. But he very rarely puts less than 7 defensive players out. That is a GK, 4 defenders (or 5) plus 2defensive midfielders. And his first priority is for th opposition to score 0. We have some excellent players at this level; Waghorn, Huws, Didz, BART, Webster ( whose poise on the ball has not been as good in recent weeks), Garner, and then proper fighters like Chambo and Knudsen. Adeyemi looks decent as do Downes, Nydam, Spence, Andre, and Celina when we have the ball. Why do we only have 27% possession yesterday and 30% against Forest. I don't mind a decent defensive performance, but not every home game.

I applaud his ability to identify decent footballers, and gel them into a great squad who stick together. But he is not bothered about entertainment, just accumulating points. His squad are better than that. Much better.

Ipswich Town 0-2 Fulham - Match Report

No complaints from me today. Simply outclassed, and I don't think there was anything that any manager could have done about that. With that injury list no surprises for me. But 12 points from 15 is excellent, and much more than I had expected at the start of the season.

Just got home. Not the prettiest display but absolute commitment from every player. Some of our lesser lights were immense, but nobody more so than Knudsen. I have been disappointed at times with his distribution, but he threw himself at everything today. Well done Jonas, you were awesome. Great effort from eleven men today, not terrific football, but with that injury list that could not be expected. Wonderful.

McCarthy: Subs Deserve the Credit
at 18:20:43

Hats off to you Mr McCarthy. I'm not yet totally won round, but your more positive outlook so far this season is doing the job so far. Two forward thinking subs at half time, is quite a change and welcome. And I can see that you are working with one hand tied behind your back with all those injuries etc. Great start, well done and thanks for being more positive. I will cut you some slack when it doesn't work, as it won't at some point soon. That's how it is

Well done to everybody involved. Mick is working with a terrible illness and injury list. He has given youth a chance and brought in two attacking players at half time. He is starting to win me round. Now should we lose a game soon, lets not lose our heads. It does happen. Well done again everybody at the club.

Town Announce 2017/18 Season Ticket Prices
at 06:35:53

The dire football this season, already sees significant numbers of season ticket holders either cancelling or not going. Now a ticket marketing ploy that matches McCarthy's football. Abject. Those who think there will be crowds of 10,000 are overestimating in my opinion. Unless there are real changes we will continue our slide from a once great club. Those were the days. Never to be forgotten, and it seems never to be repeated.

Ipswich Town 0-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers - Match Report

An utterly woeful match. There was nothing there to get the fans going at all, and so the atmosphere was flat. Not yet sure how many shots we had but I can't see it being more than a handful. An abysmal manager, bereft of ideas or attacking intent. Awful. Go. Now.

Ipswich Town 1-1 Brentford - Match Report

Disappointing performance today after the promise of February. Biggest negatives for me today were the subs. We took off 3 attack minded creative players and brought on players who were not as positive. Certainly surprised not to see Pitman today. Thought many had an off day today, particularly our more creative players. Pleasantly Surprised to find myself typing this, but thought Jonas was Man of the Matvh today. I also thought Skuse had a better game than his average today, but I still believe a midfield of Dave, Huws and Ward is collectively our best option.

Norwich City 1-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report

This is one of the few games where the ends justifies the means. We were not at all great today, but a draw at that Shiite hole is acceptable. As others have said the difference in money spent tells a hell f a story, lots of effort from all the players today, so no complaints from me. Happy with a point, now let's put in a performance next Saturday and look to play decent football again.

A reasonable performance. I thought Knudsen was much more effective in the centre 3. Whilst I was disappointed that Emmanuel was not starting, I also felt that young spence had a good game. Huws was decent, but I think he is better with Diagouraga beside him. Dids was great and great to see a Freddie goal. Well done Town, another point earned, that I would not have predicted after the Derby match

Brighton and Hove Albion 1-1 Ipswich Town - Full-Time

Great result. Whilst I remain a firm McCarthy out man, I tip my hat to him for the last 3 games. 5 points from such a difficult set of fixtures is already worthy of high praise, but to achieve it while 4 centre backs are injured and a number of other regulars out is remarkable.

I remain an outer due to the football philosophy he employs, or did until the Reading game. Fair play for the much improved style over the last 3 games. Can this be sustained. I hope so.

As this season has basically gone, need to use the remaining games to develop the 17/18 team. Get tommy fit to replace Berra, who should be used less and less as he is off in the summer. Kenlock and Emmanuel deserve much more game time. Find the dosh, and sign Huws and diagouraga. In summer release or sell coke, Douglas, Berra, best, spence, digby, and bru.

Ipswich Town 2-2 Reading - Match Report

Not read anything on here on in the forum. That was a much better performance, in fact it was good. I have been firmly, vociferously in the McCarthy out camp, but that was much much better. Hugs and Daigouraga were excellent in the first half but tied in the second. Dads and Chambers stood out from the players we own, and Grant ward was much better. Was worried when Skuse went off but we were not knocked out of our stride by that substitution. Taylor looked composed, although will be better for more games. And then Tom Lawrence was again excellent.

Mr Evans. Let's dip into your funds over the summer, and get some talent in.
Let's see Chambo play at CB, and get a proper right back in. And let's invest in our midfield. But much better today. But still for me, McCarthy has to go. Not going to change my mind, just as his natural instinct is to pick a team that keeps a clean sheet.

It’s All Wrong, From Top to Bottom!
at 12:59:38

I also went to the same spot at half time. I think you asked me 'are we going down then' just before we did. If not then somebody else did.

I cannot agree with everything you've written, but I share the passion. I don't think, for example all your comments about the players are correct. I actually believe that Sears and Ward as two examples only, have had the flair coached out of them. The blame lies firmly with McCarthy for me - his tactics, strategy and philosophy are appalling. Evans is an accessory and in my opinion needs a football man with ITFC at heart to advise him. I would suggest George Burley or Terry Butcher. They should give him a steer on the next manager to be appointed. Can we please ensure that is somebody who plays attacking football, and who is not a big name in the game (ie Keane, Jewell or McCarthy).

McCarthy: Simon Says £4m for Hugill
at 18:49:48

You say that you are pragmatic and it doesn't really matter how you win games. Well it didn't that season when we made the play offs, because we were winning. But Mr McCarthy, when you stop winning, and lose on national TV while embarrassing your club and its heritage, well then it does matter. A lot. Your football is awful, and I have not changed in my opinion of that.
