| News Comment | Baggott Set For Bristol Rovers Loan at 17:00:25
Makes sense for Baggott, Edmundson has filled in fantastically so when the others return from their duties there is some good competition in that area. Makes sense for Baggott to get game time elsewhere for now. |
| News Comment | Barnsley Youngster Joins On Loan at 13:29:13
Only on loan? I assume this would be with a view to sign permanently after we've had a chance to have a proper look at him |
| News Comment | Blues and Leeds Targeting Dallas at 15:26:49
I assume the link to Rangers is due to Warburton now managing up there. Perhaps he is unsettled at Brentford due to the new regime there?? Brentford fans I know are very fond of him so could be a great buy and an interesting first game!! |
| News Comment | Hunt Delighted to Team Up With Murph at 12:34:19
@Razor/battyblue Duh cos money means auto promotion? You clearly haven't been Town fans for long if you honestly believe that. This is the closest we have got to promotion in years, yet we've spent next to nothing. I really don't see your logic. |
| News Comment | Collison Targeting First-Team Place at 07:35:04
He won't be here longer than his short term deal allows. The interview definitely sounds like he is using us as a stepping stone to go on to bigger and better things. Of course I am not saying that is a bad thing - players putting themselves in the shop window have great motivation. |
| News Comment | Derby Set to Switch Back to Saturday at 09:52:16
Carsey, most pubs don't open until noon so those few hours difference mean a lot less drinking I think it's good they are moving it back to Saturday, just shows the police/club/council will listen to reason. If it had stayed on Sunday the turn out and atmosphere would have been awful. |
| News Comment | Trialist Henshall Offered Deal at 21:20:59
Strange of Mick to speak so openly about transfers that haven't gone through yet, I hope this means he is confident. |
| News Comment | Jonny Delighted to Have Extended Town Stay at 11:08:12
Excellent player who not only creates going forward but also tracks back to defend. I only wish we got a chance to see him and McG together, they would have been a force to be reckoned with! Sadly we don't have a chance of signing him permanently. It would be great to get him on a season long loan but I have a feeling he will be in or around the palace first team squad next season. Either way he has been great for the club and has kept out playoff hopes alive after many of us feared it was over with the McG injury. |
| News Comment | McCarthy Confident Williams Will Stay at 20:05:14
I was really impressed with Williams on Saturday, one of the few players we have at the moment who seems to have his mind on attacking the opposition and playing clever balls forward rather than sideways. He was also very good at tracking back so I can see why MM is a fan of him. Hopefully we can get him next season, we definitely need a creative player similar to him to progress. |
| News Comment | Town Squad in Portugal at 19:23:31
Good for some team bonding too I'd imagine. A small cost financially in terms of the grand scheme of things so I'm all for this |
| News Comment | Tottenham Eyeing Cresswell at 10:26:03
Mings is fine as a backup and has a brilliant attitude, but he does seem fairly injury prone and does not have the skill (yet) to replace Cresswell. If we sold Cresswell we would definitely need to invest in a quality replacement and some more attacking threat in the middle. |
| Blog Comment | First Half Analysis at 09:54:35
@Carsey I wouldn't care if we got promotion and then got relegated straight away. The financial impact of promotion would benefit the club for years to come. We might have one season of struggle in the Premiership but we would be able to afford better players and play better football in the Championship. Of course saying that I personally think Mick has a fantastic record of dodging relegation, so would hope he could keep us steady in the bottom half of the Premiership (though I'm not sure he can do any better than that). A very interesting blog, a bit worrying that we haven't beaten the top 6. Of course we are building momentum now, and I think the confidence that comes from that could be the difference between finishing in the top 6 or just outside. You have also forgotten about the fairly recent signing of Hunt - him and Cresswell down the left could be deadly - if we manage to find a similar threat on the right side in January we could well become a real top 6 contender |
| News Comment | McCarthy Linked With Palace at 10:37:04
Not worried about this at all. The Ireland job was a different matter, but I can't see him leaving us for another league club any time soon. |
| News Comment | MDs: Balance Right on Matchday Tickets at 21:39:09
They clearly haven't thought long enough or hard enough about it then! It's not just about "we make £x amount more on a match day with higher prices", increases in new season ticket holders, higher shirt and merchandise sales, a entire new generation of fans who will support the club for their entire lives... all of these factors are not being given high enough consideration. In terms of looking at the club long-term, this season has begun well what with the investment in the academy, getting rid of loan players and giving our own players longer contracts... but the matchday ticket prices are still extremely short sighted |
