Blues Linked With McAnuff Move
at 12:07:44

Very useful player in his day, was surprised to see him drop down to League One, although he is getting on a bit now. Can't see him being too much of a threat to the starting eleven, but any competition is useful, could be a decent mentor to the likes of Henshall and Connoly...

Blues Amongst Clubs Linked With Le Fondre

Useful Championship player, but couldn't see us going anywhere near him if they are looking to get a big chunk of that £2.5 million back.

Don't think he'd give us anything different to the very impressive Freddie Sears...

Norwich City 3-1 Town (4-2 on Aggregate)
at 12:25:30

Couldn't really bring myself to write anything down yesterday, I wasn't angry, crying or anything in between really, just felt sort of empty as the whistle signalled the end of our season. There was no major injustices on the field, no one with which to apportion blame, certainly not Christoph Berra, whom we are extremely lucky to have, on a free no less, we didn't lose to a 90th minute winner or on the lottery of penalties, there was no overwhelming moment I could look back on and think what if?

Certainly feeling despondent today, but like many others trying to focus on the many, many positives from the season and looking forward optimistically to the next. I see no reason why we shouldn't be challenging for top six again, who knows, with the right personnel brought in, top two? I can't see anyone leaving unless it is for silly money and the player demands a move, but if the atmosphere in the dressing room is as portrayed, why would anyone be itching to jump ship?

Anyway, proud of all the efforts from top to bottom at the club, if anything, it just feels like we've got our club back so to speak. There was a good 7-8 seasons when if you had asked me who my favourite Ipswich player was, I wouldn't really have had much of an answer for you, pretty uninspiring on the whole, now, it could be any one of a number of players, it's a team we can be proud of - just gutted we couldn't go all the way and prove all the doubters wrong...

Town Reveal New Kits
at 10:43:17

The shades of red and blue on the away kit are probably different enough that you could get away with that against bright red and blue kits...I'm never too bothered about the away kit to be honest, especially when it only hangs around for one season. They often look ghastly at first sight, but looking back I'm actually quite found of some of the odd away kits we've had down the years, Green King burgundy/green/turquoise, the Abott Ale cream & black...

The home kit on the other hand, still waiting for one to really compel me to go and buy it, not sure if this is the one either, mind may be changed when seeing it on the rack.

Been waiting for a collar for some time, tick. I'm not against pinstripes - I've got them on the UEFA Cup 81 retro shirt the club offers, but I think it needs to be all or nothing, looks odd leaving the sleeves blue, I think just plain blue with a white collar would provide a smarter look.

The TWTD League Calculator 2014/15 - Three to Go

If we get a draw against Wolves, even 5 points will do it if Brentford fail to win all 3 of their games.

Ifs and buts, Brentford are capable of winning all three of theirs, let's hope Bolton can cause them some problems on Saturday.

McCarthy: We Need to Beat Cardiff to Make the Play-Offs
at 13:43:32

Have to agree with 'warktheline', on paper Brentford have the easiest run in and are a bigger threat to 6th spot than Wolves for me, especially considering either ourselves or Wolves are going to drop points in some combination on Saturday.

Absolutely, didn't mean that in a disparaging way regarding Murph, he's been excellent even when not scoring, more of a wishful premonition that he will find the net tonight!

McCarthy: We Need to Beat Cardiff to Make the Play-Offs
at 11:06:26

Would like to see Parr come in, Anderson didn't look too sharp on Saturday, Parr is a positive player and gets forward well. We need that tonight to put the opposition on the back foot, we've been caught cold the past two matches.

Murphy is due a goal...

I think 4 wins and a draw will do it, assuming we beat Wolves, it's a huge ask but you never know, as bad as yesterday was, Murphy's penalty vs. Leeds and glaring miss against Brentford have been haunting me ever since.

As far as conspiracy theories go, even if he wanted a move, or a team was lining him up, what benefit for either party would there be for him to be sitting on the sidelines for the best part of half a season?

Blues Amongst Seven Linked With Arsenal Striker
at 13:15:52

I was scouring through the Premier League squads yesterday, bearing in mind that Mr.Evans had suggested a loan signing could be made assuming we were still in the top six shake up heading into the international break. Noticed Akpom and Gnabry from Arsenal, the latter coming back from injury, might be surplus to requirements there with the season drawing to a close, could give us an extra option out wide.

Elsewhere Jonny Williams is back up and running, let's get him back!

The League Table Is A Thing Of Beauty This Morning - Notes for Watford
at 14:06:59

I'd be interested to look through every one of our goals this season and actually analyse how many are route one, corners or actually well worked goals. I think we'd be surprised by some of the decent build up play we produce. That's not to say our all round play doesn't include some route one stuff, but to make out we can't play football is ridiculous, we knock it around very well when we want to.

McCarthy Considering Changes for Leeds Trip
at 14:01:27

I don't think people should underestimate Skuse's role in the side. He's not going to grab the headlines but he goes about his job admirable, breaking up play and keeping the ball ticking over in midfield.

However his role becomes somewhat defunct when we don't have the likes of Bishop and McGoldrick (I know they're out) in front of him. With creativity ahead of him, his main job is to protect the back four and provide the link between the back line and our attacking players in the final third.

Unfortunately when he only has the likes of Tabb and Chaplow around him, he is required to have an increased bearing on proceedings, and unfortunately he cannot provide us with that attacking impetus.

It's the equivalent of Chelsea having Matic in the holding role, but rather than having Fabregas and Hazard as options ahead of him, plonking Mikel and Ramires in there.

Norwich City 2-0 Town - Match Report
at 18:36:04

No creativity today. We miss McGoldrick, he hasn't scored the goals this season but he is the best link we have between midfield and attack. I'de like to see all three of Murphy, Sears and McGoldrick in the starting eleven when fit.

As soon as the team sheet was released I feared the worst. Our midfield does not exist, how many passes did our middle four complete to each other?

I hope they prove me wrong but the additions of Varney and Chaplow are not going to improve us.

I could go on, but ultimately, today was poor, we need to get McGoldrick and Bishop back and work out a consistent starting eleven and system.

If you told me before the season started that by March Norwich had done the double over us and were 3rd, but we were still in the top six, I'd have taken it.

Huge test of character over the coming weeks, destiny is totally in our hands with many games against the teams around us, time for the lads to go out and prove we deserve it.
