Sheff Wed tickets
at 20:11 31 Aug 2023

The game is 2 weeks on Saturday and nothing yet about tickets. I guess something will be announced before Monday with sale starting then, so if you are in the 5+ zone like me it will be next Friday before you have the chance to buy. Pretty short notice for folk to book trains / hotels unless you book before you know you have a match ticket!

That's all 3 away league games this season that have only gone on sale less than 2 weeks until the game - I'm sure last season the tickets were generally on sale a bit earlier?

We've known who we are playing and when for weeks so why are the away clubs so slow in getting tickets out? Even if games are moved for SKY you still get about 6 weeks notice.

Defending corners
at 18:01 3 Jan 2023

Apologies if this has been covered in another thread.

What are folks thoughts on defending corners? The only one whose thoughts matter is KM but it frustrates the life out of me that we bring every player back leaving us no out ball if we head clear.

Yesterday with the opposition down to 10 I would like to have seen us leaving 3 men on the halfway line meaning they would have to leave 3 or 4 men back to cover. With a lot less players in the box it would surely leave more space for Walton to come and claim the ball?

Regardless of the opposition being down to 10 if we leave a couple at halfway it would stop the 'big men' coming up for corners and remove the aerial threat from some teams.

Peterborough 10th Dec
at 19:00 30 Oct 2022

The home game against Fleetwood on Sat 3rd has been moved forward to the Friday night because England / Wales may be in action in the last 16 of the WC on the 3rd.

The following weekend we are home to Peterborough - which is the same day as the QF in the England / Wales side of the draw - so I guess we expect that to be moved as well?

At least we can now focus on 3rd tier mid table consolidation…

Really shows how low Town have fallen.., and the road back looks very, very long.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink?
at 13:10 5 Dec 2021

Anyone given Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink a mention as a possible replacement for Cook?

He has Burton Albion above Town in the league on a fraction of the budget. More to the point is that he took over there around the same time last season with Burton staring at relegation. He then took them on the kind of run that Town need to have any chance of sneaking into the play-offs, comfortable finishing well above the relegation places.

Shrewsbury H 9th Oct
at 19:37 20 Aug 2021

I'm thinking about taking my son to the game but it's a WQ Qualifier weekend - is it likely to be postponed as a result? Are Town or Shrewsbury likely to have enough players away for a postponement? Town have had a few postponements in the last couple of seasons but Downes was one of the players in the England U20s and he's no longer here. Dobra may be in the Albania squad but who else may be selected by their country?

It's an 8 hour drive for a 'home' game so I need to book a hotel and it's a pain in a*** if the game then doesn't go ahead. Especially as I'm already looking to change my hotel from Manchester to Ipswich as the music event I had planned on going to has been cancelled and the football is plan B....

Far away fans - why do you follow ITFC?
at 13:13 11 Feb 2020

I'm sure this will have been covered before but why do fans, who are not based in / from Suffolk, support ITFC?

I live just outside Edinburgh but my son - who is 7 - decided a couple of years ago as he got into football that Ipswich was his team. It may have stemmed from me taking him to see the ground that summer as we were in Ipswich - but he had also seen several other grounds that summer, many much closer to home.

Anyway, he's now hooked! Has home and away kits, knows who all the players are, and we have made it to a few games a bit closer to home, namely Bolton, Accrington & Sunderland this season - and have tickets for Blackpool. Will make it to PR for the Bolton game.

But for others on here with a love of ITFC who are from far flung places, why do you have that affinity? What made you choose Ipswich?

While I have been to several games now - originally as an interested neutral - I now find myself desperately wanting the team to win, and get p155ed off when they get beaten!
