Have to be a bit realistic we are not a big fish in a small pond in this league, we have to stick to our realistic budget. I think we need two strikers to be fair not to sure about Freddie Jackson and Piggot in this league. Would be happy with Hirst coming back but would Leicester sell to us now that we are rivals ? Same with Armstrong at Southampton, Surrige may be possible as Forest may sell. Yates seems to have gone off the radar in the press lately. Not shouting for McKennas head but think the owners will be thinking have they got the right man in position, perhaps bringing in an experienced coach to help might be a good idea.
We did this in Burleys time, seem to remember John Gorman and Stewart Houston coming in when we went through a couple of dodgy patches to help out.

The problem is we have been starved of any form of success for so long now that our Expectations with the new owners are so high, we are far better than we have been for years but are not quite there yet. We do have a soft underbelly and when the pressure is on we fall short, i for one think we should have signed a couple of old heads this window who have been there and done it, a striker and a defender to help the younger players out and bring in an experienced coach to help out the inexperienced manager to get us over the line. The last team that we had promotion with we had a good blend, Mobray , Venus, Magilton and Stewart all vastly experienced players in key positions all over the pitch !!!! we lack that with this squad . |

Thought we wer'e poor first half, looked nervous all over the pitch, although Plymouth didn't really create that many chances ther'e passing and competing for the ball was a lot sharper than our's. Thought the long ball tactics were because they dominated in midfield, unfortunately Ladapo is not a centre forward of that type and was in my view ineffective. Hirst doe's look the part and gave their centre half more problems in the time he was on the pitch, i'm sure he will make a difference up front. Not sure if we will sign any more but a solid defensive organiser would not go amiss. 20 games to go !! keep the faith !! |
