Skuse: We Believe Things Will Turn
at 10:56:55

These players are clearly deluded by keepint spouting in this way. I recall Jim Magilton saying last time that we were relegated from Premier League that we were too good to go down even though we were bottom of table at Christmas.

I appreciate Paul Lambert has to keep things upbeat lets look at his record here which I think is now worse than Paul Hurst. He has brought in players that are no better at all than those already here and we have no chance of staying up.We are the worst team in the league and the sooner the players accept that the better.

People keep on about the youngsters but they hardly set the world alight whilst out on loan-excluding Wolfenden-and these are mostly midielders who are the ones who should boss games and I cannot see them doing any better in League 1 next year.Did Nydam sulk whilst out on loan or does he think he is better than he really is ? and Dozzell seems to lack the size and strength for these leagues and probably would do better in Premier with a footballing side.As a striker Morris is too lightweight and would do no better than those in the squad at present. With the position as it is most of the current squad are on high wages,in teams above their ability or our of contract and therefore we will start in league 1 with a team no better than most pf them there at present so likely next year will be not a great deal better than this.

Whatever happens the decision to change managers on the last two occasions was entirely correct and we have to try to steady the ship now before we have any chance of progressing forwards-if that is possible without major investment. Team work and good young players will get you only so far but to have a chance of succeeeding you have to spend on quality which is something we are sadly lacking now.

I have been supporting the club for over 55 years and have seen some good and bad times but sadly the present very much falls into the latter and very disappointing to hear Mick Mills say on Saturday that this was the worst season the club had had since he joined over 40 years ago.

Finally I fear for Sunday but thing perhaps that Paul Lambert should perhaps change his policy for one game and park the bus otherwise our embarassment might well cause the players to regret their positive opinions.I really hope this will not be the case but the omens are not good at this moment.

Newcastle Match All-Ticket

Although a great admirer of Sir Bobby and his achievements I distinctly recall him calling the supporters "morons" and banning local radio from the ground so do not let us think things were rosy all the time.

Ticket Promotion on Sir Bobby Robson Day
at 21:06:51

This match on Easter Monday the top team in the league should attract a good crowd so why make it cheaper for people to attend when as a season ticket holder I have paid full price?

The £6 average increase in season ticket prices will produce £60000 if 10000 renew and if 3000 people who would be attending in any event including Newcastle fans then the club will lose £60000 in income on this one game. Makes no sense at all but is typical of the club at present.

I have no objection to these ticket offers on games against lesser teams but Easter Monday against the top team??

McCarthy: Focus on Recent League Performances Not Cup Exit
at 21:02:29

MM keeps on about the three previous league games but I saw all three thought we were pretty poor against a very poor Bristol City and quite lucky to win, against QPR we were better but there again QPR were poor and they won and against Blackburn they were also poor but on a striker who could shoot and of course all three teams are at the wrong end of the table. The challenge will be the next few games and I do not believe we can win these games but just hope for an improvement and that some of the injured return soon.Personally I do not think we should waste money in this window but wait until the summer when himself will decide whether or not to bore us again next season.

Town Frontrunners for Feeney
at 16:34:58

Neither Pringle or Feeney showed enough to be signed on especially because they have been on very high wages and would not be worth the investment. Feeney in particular did contribute enough in the games he played and disappeared for long periods. We definitely need at least two wide players but not these two thanks.

A good well thought out article but the main problem is that there is absolutely no chance that MM will tolerate anyone having any input-you will that when he was appointed the club wanted Matt Holland as his assistant and MM ruled that out and would rather bring in a yes man in TC. I cannot think from his recent remarks that anything has changed and the club is and will continue to suffer from his actions.

A few examples to support the above. This season alone he has cost the club in thousands of pounds in lost TV income. In the first few weeks of the season we were featured several times but once they realised our style was so dull they cut us out. Secondly his decision to field a reserve team in both games in the FA Cup against a team we should have beaten easily cost the club at least £300000.00 in receipts in the loss of at least one game against a Premier league club.

His style does not encourage youngsters to support the club and this will have a long term effect as these are the future of the club.

Some of the players on the books have rarely been used this year and have cost the club many thousands of pounds ie Coke, Tabb, Toure to name just three.

The players he has brought in to play on the flanks have been forced to play in wide midfield roles rather than as out and out wingers which would give the team greatly needed pace. AMN played with pace in the first few games but since then his confidence has been hit by being forced to play as a defense first player and I am sure both he and Fraser have cost us a lot of money over the season. Pringle is not a wide player and has not featured in recent games and is costing us money and neither he or Feeney are worth keeping on as they do not better the team at all.

He lavished praise on Kenlock and Emmanuel at the beginning of the season and then has rarely played them although we have had a poor player playing at right full back for a long time and after Charlton had given him a really runaround instead of dropping him he dropped his best defender this season and promptly lost 3-1! Since then he has reverted to the old defence.

On the progress of young players there has been little to encourage local players to join the club and although good to see Dozzell progress if I was his father I would send him elsewhere not for the money but the style of play. Other than him there are the two full backs and Matt Clarke but all the others are mid field players so where are the wingers and strikers we so desperately need. We have good academy staff and coaches but I bet they have very little influence when it comes down to it.

The comments by the manager about Douglas and his continual involvement and the decision to retain Hyam on the pitch against Brentford-when he should have been sent off for that horrendous tackle- and then to bring him back immediately after his ban were typical of MM and his arrogant disregard for the fans and disrespect for the club.

I could go on. I have renewed my season ticket nd have no particular wish for the club to reach the Premiership but want the club to return to a club that respects its supporters and play attractive and entertaining football again. There has been no progress this season irrespective of the excuses by the manager and this cannot continue long into the next season without a change. In view of this season if I were the owner I would be reluctant to release funds to the manager as his past record of spending at other clubs has not been great and he says he would be unable to find better players than we have at present! Perhaps that says it all.

Town Keen on Dunne Claim
at 14:45:20

I am not commenting on this proposed signing but the persistent abuse against Tommy Smith is boring and without justification. He has been a loyal and good defender for the club for some years now and if the Brentford game is anything to go by is a far better central defender than Chambers. People have very short memories and should support the players not abuse them at every opportunity and thank goodness neither the manager or the players take any notice of this constant barrage of rubbish.

Moyes Hints at Tunnicliffe Return
at 16:45:01

He is nothing special and whilst I do not think he will make team at Man U I also think we can well do without him.In recent games he has added little to the play and certainly is not much of a goal threat. I am sure there are other young midfielders we could pick up on permanent contracts who will add equally as much to the squad.Every body said he was a central midfield player but since he was put in that role he has been anonymous in all games.

Town and Charlton Accept FA Charge
at 17:26:18

Presumably another fine will follow after similar incident last night. This is not acceptable behaviour and the players should be made to pay from own pockets as brings the club into disrepute and not a good example to those who support the team. Both incidents were minor and players of all teams involved over reacted.

Town 1-2 Leicester

Leicester had pace on both wings which was the difference between the teams.

I thought that Mings played well until Leicester scored and he and the rest of the team lacked confidence after that.McGoldrick is class and deserves more.Hope MM will be more ambitious from the beginning of matches soon.

Overall we did not test their goalkeeper enough and we lost a good game to one of the best teams in this division.
