McGoldrick Set for Six-to-Eight Weeks Out, Longer If He Needs Surgery
at 21:16:11

I suspect it will be longer than 12 weeks.
Did an ankle ligament injury myself back in March and am still not 100% again.

Granted the facilities and personnel he has to deal with it will be better.

I had a complete rupture and the surgeon advised against surgery, so hopefully it will be the same for Didz.

15,500 Tickets Sold for Home Play-Off Derby
at 07:41:23

@nthstd

Just like to point out that not every non-regular who has a ticket for this game is a 'fair weather fan'. I was a season ticket holder for 12 years but had to give it up this year for work reasons and unfortunately haven't been able to buy a ST for next season either.
I go as and when I have the time/money, and always endeavour to make it on the big occasions like this.
Hopefully I'll be in a position to become a ST holder again season after next (or perhaps a half ST holder next season), but unfortunately not everybody can.

McCarthy: Mings Frustrated By Lack of Games
at 09:30:07

@Wickets

Agree with you on that. I think Cressy could do a really decent job a left midfield, and it gives Ty a chance to get some games under his belt at left back.

Loach Hopes He's Given Boss a Headache
at 10:59:17

Unfortunately for Loach I think Gerks is MM's favourite, and if he is passed fit for Leicester on saturday then he will get the nod.

I hope I'm wrong. I'm a big fan of Loach's (not that I'm not of Gerks) and he played fantastically well on Saturday, making 3 or 4 really decent saves, so he deserves to keep his place - that's how it would work with any outfield played, and it is how it worked when Loachy was off his best early on in the season.

Tabb's a Course Celeb

I work for the music company that publishes Ludovico Einaudi's work - he's been in to our warehouse to perform.
Very good pianist - last thing I'd expect a footballer to be in to.

Tabb's certainly a 3-dimensional character.

Palace Still Interested in McGoldrick

At least IF two clubs are interested in the player then we can use that to our advantage to get the very best deal possible.

Tunnicliffe at Fulham
at 09:32:57

Good news about Swansea's reported move for Jeffrey Schlupp - hopefully means they'll leave McGoldrick alone.

Would prefer to see someone come in on a permanent transfer if (when) the Tunnicliffe deal is complete, especially someone with a little creativity - can't see it happening though, Paul Green on loan seems to be nailed on.

Team's Success Makes Up for Lack of Games
at 10:05:50

I'll start off the minus brigade then! ;-)

Personally I think he's played the role he's been givenwell. He may not have set the world alight which is unfortunate, but he's not played badly. For me he was the MOTM against Charlton on New Year's day - very hard working, a good few efforts on goal and put himself about - hopefully we see more of that side of his game going forwards.

Derby County 4-4 Town
at 08:22:58

I think we'll all do well to remember that yes we were poor in the second half, but that alone isn't necessarily going to lead to conceding 3 second half goals - we have to give Derby credit for turning it on and giving it a right go - at the end of the day they got exactly what they deserved.

If we were to look at the flip-side and it were Town that were 4-1 down at half time and we clawed it back to 4-4 we'd all be raving about how good our second half performance was, and not how poor Derby's was.

They changed their system at half time and we struggled to cope with what were clearly sterling performances from Bryson, Eustace and Hughes.

I'm as gutted as anyone, but there's a lot of classic fickle Town 'fan' remarks on here of doom & gloom based on one result.

At the end of the day we are a far better side than we were this time last season, there's obvious progression and as a whole we're going in the right direction. I think a few fans need to get some perspective (not to mention a grip!)

Fully expecting lots of -1s now....

McCarthy: No Move for Ebanks-Blake But I'd Love Him Here
at 07:36:32

I've been a long time admirer of SEB and would love to see a player of his type and ability in a town shirt.
He's got goals in him, he's strong, has a turn of pace, previously worked with MM and we all know how well the strikers get on with TC in training (particularly someone that has worked with him before).

I think Mick is being clever here, too. Giving SEB a call wasn't just being considerate, it puts the thought in to SEB's mind - the seed has been planted regarding the idea of coming to Town.

Mick's right that most of the 23 other Championship clubs would be interested, but I think our having MM & TC gives us the edge on all of them & that only the lure of the Premier League would stop us IF we went in for him.
Having said that, after that sort of injury and that length of time out I can't see Premier League clubs taking the risk on him.

Marriott and Lee in 20-Man Squad for Brighton Clash
at 16:28:06

Nouble has looked very poor in all the minutes he's had since the start of the season. For me it shouldn't be a case of 'which one of Lee & Marriott should sit on the bench with Frank?', it should be a case of 'lets leave Frank out and stick Lee and Marriott in'. Send Nouble a message that if he doesn't perform he doesn't have a place in the 18.

It'd be perfection if we could get 2 goals to the good tomorrow and then bring Lee & Marriott on together for the last 15-20 minutes or so. I think Lee would be a great partner/influence for Marriott on the pitch.

Cresswell Knows Nothing of Reported Interest

Not surprised that he is getting attention from other clubs. I just hope that we can hold on to him for as long as possible. Would love to see him tied to a lengthier contract - but with 2 years on his current deal then I'm sure Mick has already thought about doing something regarding Cressy's contract situation within the next 8-12 months.

McCarthy: No Regrets
at 08:02:53

A lot of moans on here. Can't believe how fickle we lot can be as 'fans' at times. I know as paying customers we are entitled to an opinion, and that includes a moan, but come one - we were all quietly positive during pre-season and two games in and most of us seem to have hit the other end of the scale!

We've got injuries, we have 10 new players (granted, Murphy, McGoldrick & Tabb were here on loan last season), Taylor's just back from 11 months out injured (and there's already a ridiculous amount of expectation put on his shoulders) - It's gonna take a bit of time.

People moaning at the Smith/Chambers partnership being broken up - well Berra had to play at some point, and if we're to seriously challenge for top 6 then some rotation at times will be required, you have to use the squad.
The same people moaning that it wasn't October at left back - well MM & TC work with him day in and day out, I think they know better than us when he'll be ready for a first senior start - I for one trust them in this.

We put a great performance in against the Championship champions of 2011/12 who have just come down from the Premier League, away from home - that's just one league game, there are 45 more to come, starting with Millwall at PR on saturday.

Lets get out in force and support the super blues.

McCarthy Could Look to Loan Market
at 08:28:37

Bit harsh there, Mitch.

Making up half the squad with season-long loans is one thing, but dipping in to the loan market to cover a potentially thread-bare squad during an injury hit spell within the squad on a short-term basis is perfectly good use of the loan system in my book.
