It was hardly captain foresight saying getting rid of MM and replacing with Hurst was almost certain relegation, thankfully I don't get shot down for it like I used to on this forum (look at all my previous posts). The truth is now out. Evans was listening to yes men looking after their own back not the fans. Generally that was my view at the time, as is still today. |

Have you listened to the podcast? You cannot play this football on a shoestring budget, otherwise you end up clapping into league 1 which is ridiculous. I disagree with your comment "generally the fanbase thought it was time MM went", I think it is a classic case of a minority overcoming a silent majority due to social media and and this minority not actually understanding how professional football clubs are run / can be successful. Thankfully this is the only MM boo-boys type post seen on this thread. Onwards and upwards from here. I agree history cannot be re-written but I don't agree with your version of events. Lessons must be learnt. |

I agree with you - thought it was well written and covered a number of important topics. Far too often you see clubs taken-over, asset stripped and dumped. I took a lot of confidence from the statement I have to say. I think there has to be an element of realism with regard to finances, especially at the current time. Most important thing is to get behind the new manager, well said. |

Well said, MM was a gent, first name terms with staff family etc, pulled the club together whilst on a shoestring budget. Other good people who have left include McGavin & Lee in the academy, like you say talented people who all pulled together. You now have a GM who is woefully underqualified, you could write what he actually knows about professional football on the back of a postage stamp. |

Fair comment, don’t disagree. I have a good mate who is a Charlton fan and I look at the way they play currently and the squad they have, I wouldn’t want to be playing them! Pray for some £££ over the summer. What more can we do?! |

MM is not allowed to be mentioned on this thread 😂😂😂😂 lol Shame all the logic and eloquent analysis from all the football experts on this thread was not applied exactly a year ago......! 3 in 25. What a mess. You don’t know what you’ve got till’ its gone! |
| Forum Reply | Can we have the threads of anything to do with Norwich and McCarthy removed from at 17:43 11 Mar 2019
Definition of forum - a meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged. Perhaps you can apply to the oxford English dictionary and have an amendment stating Mick McCarthy boo boys are exempt and can now pick and choose what people talk about, to make themselves feel better. It makes me laugh how riled such an obvious contingent of the fan base gets by the stating of simple facts, for (now) obvious reasons! |

Well said that man. A few facts to cut through some of the complete and utter stupidity on this thread. I completely agree there are a large number who simply cannot admit to the fact they directly contributed to all this, thinking they are football managers, when they are not. Plenty of teams out there win ugly week in, week out. Its definitely better than losing! |

Well said, could not agree with you more. MM is sitting pretty now and all the haters are still pushing this "it was time for him to go" nonsense, perhaps to make themselves feel better, mindful of the absolute mess we are now in. All of our own making. I don't see how posts like this are divisive either, these are the "facts" (Benitez, 2009). |

You can honestly sit here and say getting rid of MM was the right decision? The guy worked miracles with the budget, like perhaps no other manager in the league could. You will be waiting a long time for the same results with our current budget, so I presume you just want ‘change’ and ‘expansive footabll’ which means 5 pts and counting adrift & league one. I love how a significant proportion of town fans have unfortunately fallen for the new manager new fortunes card, which has been consistently proven to not work. |

Like Brexit, but more important. I take your point. Let’s be honest my anger is borne out of pure frustration and this is the last place I want us to be. |

The guy worked miracles for our club and the way he was treated was a disgrace. Unfortunately we deserve everything we get now. All this rubbish about style of play, well we have been well and truly served up the reality check. Plenty of premiership sides win consistently at home ugly, who do we think we are. Let’s go and play some expansive football in League One shall we (not an easy league to get out of either). I think Lambert will be an excellent appointment, those talking about tearing up your season ticket, please go ahead, probably got us in this mess with your stupididity. |
