You want me to apologise for not responding to your post? My original post has had 770 odd views and 20 odd responses. Should I be expecting 750 apologies? |

Apologies, Jeera, I thought you were having a pop at me. |
 | Forum Reply | Govt U-turns at 12:26 4 Jan 2021
Aah Jeera, you know me so well. I'm sure you can get a few more insults in there if you really try, go on, you know you want to. |

My 88 year old dad turned his down because it meant travelling from Frinton to Basildon. Needless to say he didnt tell me until afterwards! |

So you think u-turns should be slated, even if they are the right thing to do? Seriously??? |
 | Forum Thread | Govt U-turns at 10:25 4 Jan 2021
Shouldn't these be applauded rather than scorned. Politicians (and others) get slated for changing their mind/U-turning, but surely they should be applauded for it. Its a good thing isn't it? Sticking to your guns, when facts show you may we wrong, deserves a slating, but u-turning doesn't. We need a big change in attitude generally, I had thought that Covid may help that along, but I'm not sure it will. Too many people still trying to score points at the expense of others and too many people, especially in the media, still slanting things towards their own particular end. |

We could easily be 10-12th, poss 13th, by the time we are out of our current period of postponed fixtures. |

Yeah, weird isnt it. I was sure there was freedom of movement within the EU, but obviously not. |
 | Forum Reply | Lambert and the injured at 10:19 16 Dec 2020
Skuse gives us cover for Downes. With neither of them in there we look lightweight in midfield. Wilson or Chambers provide solid experienced options at CB - KYV being fit would allow Chambers to move over. Norwood is our best natural goalscorer and our best forward and Edwards was our leading goalscorer whilst Bishop was hitting form and consistency. Having them and others available should make a huge difference, but I do think PL should be getting more out of what he has available. |
 | Forum Reply | How disappointed will you be if we lose tonight? at 13:58 15 Dec 2020
Anyone can win/lose a football match. Its the performance that matters. If we are abject again, at home against the bottom side in Division 3, then the writing will surely be on the wall. However we could play well and lose out - perhaps due to an inspired Burton display or due to bad luck. That would be better - in my view - than a clueless, hapless fortunate win. So, lets look at the performance, not just the result. COYBs. |
 | Forum Reply | Joint statement calling for stopping of xmas mixing at 10:59 15 Dec 2020
Families will mix in any event. Hopefully the "3 household" rule will mean that most families restrict themselves to that - most that I have spoken to seem to be intending to. If he tries to ban mixing, people will rebel against it and quite likely mix more. Having a 3 household limit at least gives us some sort of guidance and some "freedom". I suspect it will mean a pretty severe January lockdown but I think that would have happened anyway. They cannot win either way. |
