| News Comment | Luton Town 3-1 Ipswich Town - Match Report at 23:18:03
Living in Moscow I rarely get to games and was curious how some of the youngsters and fringe players would perform. I can't say many impressed. Dobra's energy and strike were pluses. The support was strong from the fans, though we had precious little to get enthused about. It's disappointing that Luton have a stronger second string but on this evidence I feel our squad remains pretty thin on quality, fitness and confidence. Of course it was very makeshift but did feel distinctly less punchy than our effort at Palace 2 years ago in the league Cup. Not many of that promising looking youth team have really kicked on... Injuries and a struggling team to blame in part. Onwards to Posh. I did enjoy meeting and chatting with some great, loyal supporters. Forever blue. |
| News Comment | Osman: World Cup Comment Was No Joke at 10:08:51

OSBourne 78. wark all over 1981 and wick burning up 2011... believe. |
| News Comment | Wickham: The Perfect Way to End the Season at 06:19:05
If we can sign kevin Phillips- i would pay him 10 000 a week if I had the cash we will be a top 6 side next season. the future of our club has been and will remain in nuturing our talented young players into useful and productive men whilst easing their and the clubs progress by signing established seasoned pros. I saw that my old friend from fc twente and swiss / central africa has signed for Seattle sounders- someone in his mould and they dont make many of his stature would be perfect. Good luck BN and KP and thanks ITFC for moulding another fine young player/man in CW. I love my club. Our club. PS is any other blue going to the game at MK on Saturday? Ghana - my second team play Latvia... the crowd have promised dance songs and laughter. And that is why I love football. I will be in the gold of Brasil.... |
| News Comment | Celtic and Derby Leading Hooper Chase at 10:48:31
There are some very fine players in Scandinavia and Holland. They adapt much better - as a rule- than players from other countries. We have reasonable ties with both areas and if we could get someone from FC Twente or Feyenoord or one of the big Stockholm clubs we could be laughing. I plan to meet Fabian in Rotterdam next week, I will certainly ask him about a talented player called Kermit Erasmus ( thin k spelling is correct) he was mooted as a possible Dutch World Cup squad member so must be talented. Feyenoord have first shout as he is currently working with Fab at Excelsior - sometime feeder club to the sleeping giants from the port city. Hooper IMHO would be terrific. Nice article in the Guardian today Louise Taylor says Keane is a fine communicator who needs to work on his connection with the players. Also picks Connor W as a star of the future , but we know that don't we.? Town forever. PS I will be at the World Cup any other blues based in Jo'burg or Durban? Be great to meet up. Ta Charlie |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town Serbia in Action at 13:09:15
Liverpool were top dogs when I became a fan. Chelsea a very soft side, and Ipswich a proud team , respected and feared. We still have the pride in Serbia and Holland. Nice one lads. Always next year. |
| News Comment | Reuser to Retire at 23:05:55

| News Comment | Sponsor Town\'s Man of Steel at 09:15:45
best of luck carl or as they say here Success! i am sure Megan will be hugely proud and I hope to see you on the day. I was at the rotterdam marathon on sunday and really enjoyed it but was surprised and disappointed that so few people were running for causes (at least publicly) or handicapping themselves with 5 stones plus of tudor armour. I guess it helps to be to english sometimes. Will you be sporting the Suffolk Punch horse or even arriving on one ? Could be nice for the publicity shots / media angle? Best of British mate |
| News Comment | Smith Set for New Zealand Provisional Squad at 19:18:13
excellent post pucker ... i agree am encouraged by the arrival of some talented young players in the squad and the first 11. One advantage of our mid table finish may be that it affords Roy some space to see how they perform in less than the most stressful surroundings - of course Connor W and O Connor also played in matches that some saw as relegation 6 pointers and both are very valuable experiences. On a similar note I interviewed and chatted with Steve Mc Claren and his young defender David Carney at FC Twente this week -DC once a relegated Budgie and a Blade now looking at the Dutch title and full back for Australia in 2010. Incidently the ozzies are very confident about facing england in round 2 and expect to win. They see the group of Serbia Germany Ghana OZ as being very tough but believe 2nd place is possible probably behind Ghana. Macca was class and as bigger fish than West Ham to fry. |
| News Comment | Keane: Wages Will Be Issue on Sunderland Pair at 09:58:57
lisbie not even worthy of mention now? I would have thought the odd 100 000 pounds here and there - or 50 000 should be seen as essential to Keane's kitty. remember Sir Bobby saying he always spent the clubs money as if it were his own? Its so easy to just toss off these figures now 4 000 000 plus spent on fees and wages of Priskin and Martin alone by now. Roy's main weakness in the eyes of Sunderland fans was always his poor-average trading in the transfer market. It remains about the same level. Though I still have faith that he will get very close to his target within the 2 year time frame. How long did Burley need? Up the town. 3 points today a good game too I expect. |
| News Comment | Marathon Man at 21:53:44
Tim I will be donating to you hope you to the same for me when I run in Holland later this year. I think I may do it for the same great charity. Bobby was and still is much loved here. I hope you win the fcukin thing. |
| News Comment | Keane Slams Second Half Performance at 11:14:46
just a simple point but if you decide today after a defeat that you now support histon, or whoever, then you never were an Ipswich Town fan. A number of people on here are boring sheep who revel in the knee jerk reaction based on what drivel they can remember from previous posters. The real support will be at Hillsborough and Glanford park in the next week and I believe they will be rewarded for their efforts. Blue Army |
| News Comment | Honduran Linked With Town at 09:24:29
Moses is the star of that team, and I would say any team at our level. to get him would be a real statement of intent, on a par with the last great signing Marcus Stewart. |
| News Comment | Town Dump Arsenal Out of Youth Cup at 21:18:12

| News Comment | Holland TWTD Player of the Decade at 17:34:55
I'd be interested to see who was our top scorer for the decade and who made the most appearances, if anyone has the time to search. For quality Darren Bent is worth a shout , Stewie was a class apart but only for 18 months. Joe Royale deserves mention for being a fine manager - 2 play offs with a budget team |
| News Comment | Holland TWTD Player of the Decade at 10:15:00
Well reasoned, but are you hoping for a club owned by and supported by the fans? There are not too many models of that system working well in English football (sadly). That said although debt continues to rise alarmingly, clubs actually go out of business much less frequently that any other business sector. Largely thats because few industries can rely (and occasionally abuse) the loyalty and irrationality of the consumers/fans. The debt has risen another 25% are we as a club any stronger? Is the football served up better value or more entertaining? You judge. Would you prefer to go to Ikea on a Saturday? Thought not |
| Blog Comment | Town Draw Southampton Away at 19:30:12
if we could go on a little run , we'll be 16th...doesn't sound great but once we are out of the bottom 3 and perhaps unbeaten in 10, the confidence will return. Wonder what Charlie Mc Farleys input did for the team? Oh and UEFA81 stick these 3 points up your arse - the knockers and negative posters are sooo dull, at least we might be spared their wisdom for some time now... in town we love |
