McCarthy: Fine Margins and Bad Decisions Wed 21st Feb 2018
Town boss Mick McCarthy was pleased with his team’s performance as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Cardiff City but was unhappy that Kenneth Zohore’s 65th minute goal wasn’t ruled out for handball by the Danish striker. McCarthy also revealed that David McGoldrick could be out for the rest of the season having suffered an injury in training.

The Dane netted at the second attempt after initially missing his volley and the ball striking his hand, the visitors having improved after the break after Town had been on top in the first half.

David McGoldrick netted a brilliant low drive deep in injury time to grab Town a last-gasp 2-2 draw against bottom club Rotherham United at Portman Road. Freddie Sears had put the Blues in front in the third minute but man of the match Danny Ward equalised four minutes later, then put the visitors in front three minutes after the break. Town rarely looked like getting back on terms in a lacklustre second half until McGoldrick’s late strike.
