The incoming boss turned out to be Kieran McKenna, whose first four and a half months in management couldn't really have been viewed too much more positively by TWTD readers.

The studious and intelligent McKenna has introduced an entertaining brand of modern football very much in line with the mytholigised 'Ipswich way' and supporters took to it almost immediately.

He treats fans and media as adults and with a level of respect which hasn't always been the case with some of his recent predecessors and it feels, for once, that we're all on the same side rather than there being schisms between management and fans and management and local media.

McKenna knows he has a big season ahead of him, he knows all to well that performances have to be turned into wins more regularly, but there is confidence that despite his inexperience he is up to the challenge.
