boring ,inspire game ,no creativity and a defence that would crumble against reasonable opposition. Mick has surely got to inject some creativity at right back and in central midfield. Its a shame but this is not entertainment ,its boring and will take the crowds down sub 15000 for our home games.

Well that was dire! The second half was exceptional when compared to the first and that is where the positives stop, a subdued crowd did get behind the Town in the second half, but that was mainly in disgust at some of the worst bits of officiating I have seen in years, and the questionable tactics of some Huddersfield players, notably Lynch.

Another positive perhaps was that we kept a clean sheet, no doubt MM will sing the defences praises post match but we were poor and better finishing could have seen us off, in fact the goal line clearance from Berra after the ball was flicked past Gerken was the most telling moment of the match,

Gerken. Not a lot to do, one poor kick which could have spelt trouble, and requiring the back up of Berra to prevent a goal,
Chambers. IS NOT AND NEVER WILL BE A RIGHT BACK, that aside was on a tightrope after a yellow card and did have some choice opinions of the the linesman and some Huddersfield play acting.
Knudsen. In the first half looked out of his depth, improved vastly in the second and has clear potential. Long throws now too predictable but perhaps wise as he seems to be unable to take normal ones.
Smith. Looked decent against a very physical attack,
Berra. Getting back to the standard we expect, his goal line clearance was the highlight of the match.
Skuse. Anonymous in the first half but did have our one shot of the 45. More involved in the second half and actually was in attacking positions,
Douglass. What does he do to justify his starting position, really was same old, same old.
Mainland Niles. Looked good in flashes, despite attempts to kick him off the pitch, clearly talented but needs to be in a firing side.
Oar. I liked his first 20 mins, running at people and crossing, but then faded badly and no surprise when he went off at half time.
Pitman. Very poor. Lazy getting back on side so when we break he cannot take part.
Sears. Ran his socks off for no reward, switched position second half and was still a dangerous raider. Needs some support.

Didz. We looked a better side when he came on, dropped deep to get the ball, linked play. Could have got the winner but their keeper Steer made a good save, making himself big and stopping it with his foot.
Murphy. Looked hungry when introduced, won more headers than recent games and certainly looked sharp.
Toure. Oh dear the worst corner ever seen at PR!

So to sum it up, we looked like a mid table, out of confidence side, not sure where the next win is coming from without a creative spark and a regimented set of tactics all too predictable for the opposition.

Disappointing first half. Very little in the way of attack.
Second half improved with the introduction of Murphy and McGoldrick. Unfortunately no winning goal for Town, very close on a few occasions. If they had started that well, there may well have been.

To be honest it's not that difficult to write a match report, both sides were poor with little creativity and a big lack of quality. Oar looked good until he collided with Steer and it was no surprise he didn't re-appear. Pitman was winning a lot of headers but not providing much threat and Sears was his usual industrious self without getting much service.
AMN had flashes but was roughed up too much to be effective, while the less said about Douglas the better (Bru must be wondering what he has to do to get back in the side!). Skuse had a reasonable game and the back four were competent without needing to play out of their skins. McGoldrick looked by far the most dangerous when he came on, Murphy tried hard but god only knows what MM sees in Toure!
The ref was woeful and both sides had some awful decisions, the game wasn't helped by Huddersfield players who seemed unable to stand up in even the lightest of wind let alone a challenge. Another one to forget, lets hope this doesn't become the norm at PR.

Woeful first half, tepid second half. Our midfield has got to be redressed, as whoever plays up front are feeding off scraps.
If you watch from the higher tier of the Coop stand, you can see a total lack of pace and movement from the whole team, players are not demanding the ball. Bru is a must to come back as he does that and can create, Skuse and Douglas to fight it out, Berra and Smith to change positions?
Murphy looks like he could be back in business with Sears as his partner, and Didz playing in the 'Gates' roll?
AMN is a great future product, but is neither creating or scoring, I think Oar should play in his place. Now to right back, Chambers is wholehearted, but perhaps Emmanual should be given his chance to be a 'Burley'?

Dire

Lacklustre is probably one of the better words I could have used. Desperately need creativity in the centre of the park.. What is the point of playing two wingers if they don't get the ball? What is the point of playing Freddie Sears if you are not going to pass it to his feet?

Mick is correct in saying that keeping loyal and showing players that you have faith in them can reap bigger rewards, but what is this doing to the likes of Parr? He sees two backs not performing well week after week and still can't get a game. Another ineffective game from Douglass what does Bru have to do to get a start? Sometimes loyalty is misplaced when it may be kinder to say "I'm giving a couple of weeks rest".

Time to drop one of the wingers and bring in an extra midfielder, someone with a bit of mobility and an eye going forward (e.g. not Tabb) [actually he would have helped shore up the midfield yesterday]. Time for Bru or Toure (so long as he doesn't take anymore corners!)
